This is a Westminster Chime clock created by Kienzle from around 1940s. It has 8 chime rods about 2 feet in length, 4 of them being for the hour chime alone, and 4 making up the Westminster chime. It chimes on the quarter and has a very deep sound. It has been called the “anime clock” before. Sword Art Online has a clock chime very similar to it and has confused me in the past.

I'm frustrated. Extremely frustrated. Frustrated beyond belief! TOY's new single "Motoring" was played on Zane Lowe's show BBC Radio 1 as the Hottest Record of the week. Sadly as I am on the West side of the Atlantic Ocean, and said single was played on the Eastern end, the recorded version isn't available for my sad American ears. In the meantime, this live recording of "Motoring" will have to suffice.
"Motoring" is a fitting name for the song. It has a very driving rhythm and has a guitar riff that I can't help but compare to the pulsing electronic sounds of Kraftwerk's "Autobahn", who have apparently influence the group in more ways the one. Overall, while it may be softer than previous single "Left Myself Behind" it does have the same early New York punk feel to it, which is no surprise as when I interviewed guitarist Dom (shaggy blonde hair with the telecaster) late last year he sighted many NYC punk bands as primary influences.
The song is great and I'm really looking forward to hearing the recorded version. A music video for the track is do out shortly as well so let's hope they both show up on these coasts sooner than later. Until then, get the double A-side single of "Left Myself Behind/Clock Chime" from Heavenly Recordings to satisfy your hunger for TOY.
