Lea Porcelain continue to trek rugged terrain in their new video for 'Clock of Time,' shot in Morocco and picking up where the Berlin duo's previous clip for 'Love Is Not An Empire' left off as three people from vastly different backgrounds represent the meaning of time and its significance. It's a poignant glimpse into generational change, how it can ultimately connect people but also provide new perspectives.
As the band says about the clip via press release:
‘Clock of Time” was the first video that we shot in Morocco and it pictures (similar to ‘Love Is Not An Empire”) a young girl in the streets of Morocco. Here the little girl symbolises a time-travelling being that is on earth to analyse people and their use of time. The sand that runs through the hands symbolises time and that individuals and societies can hardly cherish it and are unable to realise its value. Only something meaningful can show us the value of time. We then introduced two more characters “The Berber”, one of the native people of Morocco and the woman in the hijab.
‘These three people are all from a separate age, generation and origin and the only thing that unites them is time. We took a lot of inspiration for the video from Ephraim Lessings book “Nathan the wise”. In this book, the two main characters discuss which of the 3 main religions is true - and we took a lot of that for the 3 characters in “Clock of Time”. Nathan compares religions, saying that each of us lives by the religion we have learned from those we respect. And our message for the viewer is: It doesn't matter where you are from, the only thing that connects us is time. So, RESPECT YOUR TIME! Don't Waste it. In 5 months its 2020.’
'Clock of Time' is from Lea Porcelain's new EP Love Is Not An Empire, out now.

According to Harakiri Diat’s youtube page, this band is on Static Shock Records, are from Berlin, and are kind-of-a-super-group-big-deal w/ members of Diat, Vexx, and Useless Eaters.
Well, I don’t like Useless Eaters and i’ve never heard Vexx (I do enjoy Diat), supergroup aside this LP is really fuckin good! So often with post punk I just end up yawning these days, I tend not to listen to most of it outside of live gigs cuz disappointment. Not here! Yes it’s very Joy Division inspired, it’s got the ‘right’ atmosphere and the post punk vocals, but it takes some post hardcore cues as well and jostles it all together to create this super infectious, listenable as all heck record. Also their name is Clock of Time. CLOCK OF TIME. Just. Perfect. I clicked on this in my youtube sidebar yesterday and have been replaying over and over since. They mess around with both angular and riffy guitars. The drummers fucking great, propelling the whole thing forward with sometimes breakneck speed, and this LP never drops energy. They’re angry goths, no mopey stuff here. This record just sooounds good, if you know what I mean, like the mix is perfect. The layers, well textured layers of sound. Yes, this one’s a keeper!
