Clock Parts Supplier Perrin Supply Ltd Resumes Operations in Vancouver
This is very good news for clock lovers in Canada. I have not ordered clock supplies in some months and reported in an earlier post that W. H. Perrin and company had ceased operations as a clock parts supplier to Canadians. The company has been reborn as Perrin Supply Ltd (new owners). I bought an estate lot of antique pocketwatch mainsprings last year. They are NOS (New Old Stock) still in their envelopes and wrapped in wax paper - never been opened or used.
They are just beautiful but trying to incorporate them into a design that I’m happy with has taken longer than I thought it would. I’ve teamed the spring up with a mechanical wheel and brass roller wheels so it looks like the spring is being fed through the mechanism.
The blue steel spring is so fine that from a square straight on view - it virtually disappears. Only viewed at an angle it becomes obvious. This made it very difficult to photograph. Available in my etsy shop - .https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/steelhipdesign
It’s been designed to be worn high on the neck - almost choker height so the curled spring sits on the decolletage - just above the breasts.
