prob a bit late but here's SPARKS AT CLOCKENFLAP 2025!
its also my first sparks concert!
like, i know about them being influences to tmbg, heard no.1 in heaven through a discord server album exchange and really like it, got a kimono my house vinyl while walking around in a local record store because i have th suncontrollable urge to buy it, and one day i decided to go to clockenflap because i have SAT exam on the nearest saturday. at first i was decided to watch mbv (but they play on sunday and i need to fly back to mainland china at sunday night cause i have class and then scanning through the lineup i saw sparks in the friday lineup (the day before the exam) and goes "well i kinda like them so ig i should go see?"
and after a lot of internal struggles i BOUGHT THE TICKET and studied hard for the exam and on that day i was SO SO SO SO SO excited and i was really panicky at the same time because im only approximately two months into the fandom AND IM SO NEAR TO THE STAGE and almost everyone (about 60% of ppl probably? idk actually) are as white as fuck and as old as fuck, i might be the only underaged asian thats actually really into sparks in the front row
and although during many songs that i havent heard before i was really nonchalant i was still really excited during the most of the concert and i shouted "i love you russ" for multiple times... and when they finished playing goofing off i shouted "PLAY BEAT THE CLOCK" because before goofing off they played academic award performance, but i thought they will play beat the clock, or tryouts for the human race (although they havent played that in years) because russ said they will be playing a song from no.1 in heaven... and THEY DID PLAYED IT AFTER I FINISHED SHOUTING... in so lucky that i be fucking screaming (the video is my recording of the song)
also the only problems that occured with the concert is that IN THE FINAL GROUP PHOTO RUSS PERFECTLY BLOCKED ME... i also raised my KMH cd that i bought at the local record store just before the festival really fucking high in the air when they played this town arent big enough... its certainly a once in a lifetime experience...

HK peeps probably already know this, but Clockenflap 2021 has been cancelled. 2020 was also canceled due to Covid, and 2019 was cancelled due to the protests. 2022 is a long way off, and a lot can happen in a year, as we know.
Wikipedia has a concise history of the fest.
Clockenflap fb had the announcement yesterday.
*sigh* Well, let's hear some music from Hong Kong. This is from the new my little airport album, SABINA之淚:
