Summary: Vi and the gang are on their way back to The Last Drop from their ‘big job’ until they run into some trouble and when things couldn’t be more difficult, they’re met with an unfamiliar stranger wearing a fox mask.

─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚.─── After the whole chaos that happened in Piltover and the gangs' narrow escape, they were making their way back down to the undercity and checking out what they managed to score back at The Last Drop. Vi, being ahead of them, could hear the loud comments Mylo was moaning about Powder being tagged in the heist and how things could've run much more smoothly without her.
"I'm telling you," Mylo says, "Powder--" He didn't even get to finish because Vi had stopped herself in a halt, spinning her body around so quickly that Mylo flinched just a bit and Vi held out her index finger, marching over to him.
"And I'm telling you," She says in a firm tone, "Say one more thing about Powder and I will make you regret it.. Got it?" Whispering harshly to him as they were almost touching noses and Mylo swallowed hard before nodding.
Powder and Clogger watched the whole thing without saying a word as Vi continued, "Powder is my problem so don't tell me what I shouldn't or should be doing.." She stared at Mylo for another moment before she snatched the bag off of him, hoisting it over her shoulders and continued to take lead.
Mylo mumbled something under his breath but it was inaudible though the children went on about their walk for another few minutes until they ran into a familiar face.
The blonde boy known as Deckard watched the group as they passed slowly and he chuckles softly. "Well, Well, Well," He begins to say, "Look what we have here.." Leaning against the wall, he pushes himself off of it and inspects his dagger while standing his ground and doesn't look up at the group yet.
"Word on the street, there was some commotion happening up in Plitover.." He looks up and locked eyes with Powder first and then Vi who turned her head over to her shoulder and looked back at him.
"Really? How weird," Vi replied as she looked ahead and saw two boys blocking the alleyway and so she spins around slowly to meet eye to eye. "We've been fishing all day and just came back from our little picnic." Sarcastically replying back as her eyes harden on him.
Deckard didn't like her reaction as he snarled, "I suppose you don't have anything valuable in that bag then, no?" He tossed his dagger into the air, catching it with one hand whilst Clogger chimes in.
"Look, we don't want any trouble." Clogger furrowed his brows and Deckard laughed alongside his mate standing behind him, joining in.
"You hear that, Deckard? He doesn't want any trouble." His mate says as Deckard chuckled and briefly nodded.
"Yeah, well, there's going to be trouble if they don't hand over the bag," Deckard replied, "Come on, sweet cheeks, give us a taste of what's inside and no one has to get hurt." He says as he watched Vi stroll over to him slowly and she smirked.
"Just a taste?" She says as she gripped onto the strap of the bag while Deckard looked away for a second to eye out his friend behind him and replies, "Yeah just a taste--"
SLAM
The bag came swinging out in the air, striking Deckard right in the face before it was thrown right at Powder who was too stunned to move but managed to catch the bag as she hit her back against the wall.
All hell broke loose as everyone was beginning to be too occupied to notice Powder still hugging in the corner with her arms clutching around the bag. Clogger was handling two boys at once, one in a headlock while kicking the other in the stomach. Mylo was on the floor as he managed to land a solid hit on the person on top of him while Vi was tackled by Deckard to the floor.
Clogger throws the boy he had on a headlock to the side, making him slide across the dirt and lands right in front of Powder where she began to tense up when they both landed eyes on each other. The boy taking interest in the bag changed his expression as he jumps back up into action and Powder makes a run for it.
Just barely making it past Mylo and his opponent as they collided into the wall, she dashes her way into the alleys and makes random turns as she tries to lose him. Her heart is thumping but her feet were fast enough to act with every corner and obstacle as she would throw down a crate, box and even some empty bottles to the floor to make it seem harder for him to travel through without stumbling into it.
Realising that her luck was coming to an end when she was met at the end of the alleyway with nothing but a whole water stream that was too wide to jump across and too deep to swim plus the water current was harsh and fast. Turning back around, she could see the boy walking over slowly, scoffing as he spits out the little blood that was building in his mouth and holds out his hand.
"Give me the bag and I'll walk away without having to hurt you," Considering how much this dude is willing to go through, he wasn't going to hit a seven year old girl. Still, though, Powder held the bag tighter and shook her head without replying which was expected so he sighed deeply.
"You gave me no choice then." He balled up his fist, raising it up in the air with Powder shielding herself with the bag and shutting her eyes as she waited for impact but it never came. All she heard was a loud thud on the floor and then silence.
Looking up, she locked eyes with a stranger wearing a half fox mask that's a bit worn out and a thin scarf covering the lower half of their face with their clothes seemingly fitted and having bandages wrapped around both hands; reminding her of her sister Vi. Their platinum hair was braided and it reached down to their hips, the only problem was their face; Powder couldn’t see who it was.
"P-Please.." Powder called out as the stranger didn't move forward but instead they held up their hands in the air to show Powder they meant no harm. They took one step forward then stopped as they pointed at the bag, clearly indicating that they wanted the bag and not Powder.
Hesitating, she shook her head once more and the stranger took another step forward as they bent down to meet Powder's eye level, removing the scarf.
"I can take you back home safely but I need the bag, lovey." Their voice was soft and quiet but it was enough for Powder to relax a bit as she looked down at her feet.
"Mylo is going to get mad at me if I give it to you and I won't hear the end of it," Powder says, "I always mess something up when I'm with them.." This made the stranger slowly reach out to Powder, their fingertips gently touching underneath Powder's chin and lifted her head up to see eye to eye again.
They said, "A great responsibility like this shouldn't rely on you so let the bigger kids handle it." They withdrew their hand as they grab the strap of the bag around them and slowly lifted it up, not wanting to startle Powder.
Powder felt powerless but she loosens her grip on the bag and feels the weight lift off her body. The stranger then strapped it around their shoulders tight and goes to ruffle Powder's head with a quiet satisfied hum.
The stranger then takes a step back and turns around as she’s met with Clogger, Mylo and Vi at the end of the alleyway.
The stranger felt a bit tense considering the numbers against them, clutching onto the strap, tilting their head to the side with their hand going to cover their face with the fabric while Vi narrowed her eyes at them, turning her face into a scowl as she intended to not let the stranger leave the bag with them.

“Hey, Blue!” Alora greeted as she looked over to Mylo, “Hey, Mylo!” Both of them didn’t respond back to her but she thought nothing of it as she walked past Clogger, patting him on the back as he shoved his shoulder back which made Alora give him a weird look.
Alora made her way over to the ring where Vi was hashing it out with the punching machine as she stood in the corner and looked behind her. All three of them were looking back at Alora which gave her the chills down her spin and turned around, watching Vi.
“Hey, um.. Vi?” Alora says, “Why is everyone acting weird?” Shifting her weight onto the metal railings as she tilted her head to the side, “Did I do something wrong?” She could still feel the eyes on her but chose not to turn around and meet their cold eyes.
Vi didn’t respond, she kept hitting the markers and dodging with every swift move. Alora furrowed her brows and tilts her head, “Vi?” Watching the pinkette stop what she was doing and turned around to face Alora, “Did I miss something? Why is everyone so stiff.”
“Someone told me that you kissed a girl,” Vi looked disgusted and confused, “is that why you’re constantly around me.. Cause you’ve got some weird crush on me or something?” Alora was too stunned to speak as she opened and closed her mouth like a fish, trying to get something out of her but couldn’t find the words.
“So.. You do?”
Alora shook her head and chuckled nervously, “Can we talk about this somewhere private?” Walking past the metal rails and she met Vi in the middle, grabbing her wrist to drag her away but Vi jerks her hand away.
“No.”
“Vi, why are you acting like this? I don’t understand.” Before Alora could say anything else, she saw a silhouette in the shadows behind Vi and it revealed to be,
“Madam Cassandra.” Almost stuttering her words, she stepped back and watched Madam Cassandra place her hand on Vi’s shoulder who looked pleased with this whole thing unfolding while Madam Cassandra was looking down at Alora, giving her wicked smile.
“Madam Cassandra said she can help you and--”
“Help me? Help me?!” Alora shouted, “Vi, you have no idea what this woman can do-- And she won’t help me, she’ll ruin me.” Grabbing Vi’s hand, not realizing that Alora’s eyes were beginning to blur.
“I thought everything was okay? That night we slept on the rooftop on The Last Drop? The times we’ve had sleepovers and went to Piltover--” Alora was desperate and Vi, once more, pulled her hand away and shoved Alora to the floor.
“You really thought we had something? Madam Cassandra was right, you are as delusional as she described.” Vi says as she gestured her head to the others as Mylo and Clogger pinned Alora’s arms and shoulder down on the floor with Powder on top of Alora, her small hands managed to wrap around Alora’s neck and it cut her airway.
Madam Cassandra stepped forward, kneeling down to Alora as she chuckled, “You really thought you could run away from all your problems? You may take after your mother but as long as I’m alive, I will help you wash away those dreadful thoughts. I will save you.”
Alora was terrified. She didn’t know whether to be terrified by how much power Powder had suddenly gained to get her to slowly lose her conscious or the fact that everyone was now looking down at Alora as she struggles to breathe and her vision slowly begins to fade.
The last thing she saw was Vi standing behind Madam Cassandra, looking down at Alora and she shook her head with her arms crossed as her last words were;
“You’re always replaceable, Alora. Remember that.”
☾ ⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚
Alora gasped loudly, springing forward so much so that she lost balance and tumbled off the bed then onto the floor. Breathing heavily, the first thing she went for was to check was her chest and neck as she frantically looked around and saw that the room was empty.
This was the third time this week.
Trying to catch her breath while taking in her surroundings to remind herself that she was in a dream; she’s safe. Slowly standing up from the ground, picking up the blanket and she throws it on the bed before falling back into it and lets out a huge sigh, closing her eyes.
Alora doesn’t know how much she can take it, and frankly, she didn’t know how to tell Vi and the rest of them the news. Ever since she had found out that she was leaving, her dreams has been worse and this time it was about her and Vi.
“You good?” Alora flinched at the sound of Vi’s voice as she sits up and stared at Vi who was leaning against the door frame with her arms crossed, “I heard some pretty hard thumps and thought to check on you.”
“Morning to you too..” Alora mumbled and she collapsed back onto the bed, shutting her eyes as she could hear Vi’s footsteps nearing and the weight of the bed dipped a little as she turned her head to the side to open her eyes and see that Vi had laid right beside Alora.
“Is it those dreams again?” Vi asked softly and Alora just nods without saying anything, “Was it about your mother?” It was clear that Vi was worried but she didn’t know how far she could go with Alora when talking about certain topics.
Alora rolled to her side and curled up, “Yeah.. Just the same old dream,” She lied but smiled gently at Vi, “I’ll be okay.” Unsure of what to say next, she didn’t feel comfortable bringing up the fact that Vi is appearing in her dreams more often and it gets more terrifying each time.
The first dream Vi was avoiding her without saying a word which left Alora confused. The second time, it was her back in the house and found Vi in her room reading her old diary, and Vi looked at Alora like she tortured an animal. Third time, well, pretty self-explanatory.
Vi shifted closer with her hand reaching over and attempts to move the piece of hair that was in Alora’s face but Alora was quick to grab Vi’s hand, putting her hand down before it could touch her face. Vi frowns a little.
“Alora, what’s wrong? You’ve been so quiet these days it’s not like you.”
You’re always replaceable, Alora. Remember that.
“Does it have to do anything with the pills or--”
“Enough about the pills, Vi.” Alora groans and lets go of Vi’s hand, sitting back up and sighs heavily, “Can you please give that a rest? It’s all you and Benzo talk about now. Those bloody pills.” Leaning down with her elbows resting on her knees and her head hung down.
“I’m sorry, I’m just worried.”
“Yeah, I know. That’s what you said last time.”
The last time they spoke about this was back at the hideout which was a couple days ago and Vi has noticed some changes in Alora that she couldn’t help but comment on the pills first. Vi bit the bottom of her lip, unsure to come back from this so she decided to shift herself closer to Alora who shifted herself backwards and mumbles something under her breath.
“Sorry, what was that?”
Again, Alora mumbles something inaudible and Vi smirked.
“Hm, I didn’t catch that. Could you speak up a bit?”
Again, she huffs loudly and doesn’t reply to her as Vi edged closer with her hand brushing the lock of her hair behind Alora’s ear before her hand was smacked gently out of the way. Vi chuckled, thinking this was just her being a hard-ass before Alora eases up; like always.
“What are you? Five?”
This time Alora shoved Vi hard but Vi was quick to grab hold of Alora’s wrist, pulling her back as Alora fell forward and landing on top of Vi. Their face were inches away from each other, they would’ve been a little shy but since it’s just them it didn’t bother either of the girls.
“I hate you.” Alora breathed out gently and Vi smiled.
“That’s really nice of you to say, Alora. Never thought you’d be so kind to-- Ow!” Alora had pinched Vi’s cheek and she tilts her head in annoyance, “Okay, okay! I’m sorry. I won’t bring up the pills again.. Not unless you do me a favor?”
“Why should I even listen to you?” Alora narrowed her eyes down at the pinkette and Vi smiled even brighter, “Why are you smiling like that? Stop it.”
“’Cause I got you something but you have to close your eyes.”
“It’s not my birthday.”
“So what? Can’t give you a gift?”
“No.” Alora replied and she rolled off Vi, sitting back up and Vi groaned loudly as she sits up then throws her arms up in the air.
“Come on. I worked really hard on this and I even got Mylo to agree to look through the junk with me, and mind you, he hates dumpster diving more than anything.” Vi jumps out of the bed, standing in front of Alora that was avoiding eye contact with her and Vi just rolled her eyes.
“Why are you being so difficult?”
“Why do you care so much about me?” Alora finally looked up at her with confused, “You barely know me and yet you treat me like I’ve been one of your longtime friends.” Standing up from her bed, she walks past Vi and makes her way towards the drawers.
“I thought you wanted to be friends?” Vi was confused because she was sure that Alora wanted to be friends and now suddenly it was like speaking to a whole new person.
Alora didn’t reply to Vi’s comment as she was making herself ‘busy’ by sorting through her clothes while Vi seemed to be frustrated with this. Every time Vi tries to engage with Alora about something personal or even as remotely something about her, she’s shut down immediately by Alora and it wasn’t fair.
“I don’t understand. You say you want to be friends and so I thought ‘why not?’, right? But no! You push me away at any given moment when all I want to do is help you out. I know nothing about you except about your mother and I am really sorry about it bu--”
“Help me out? Vi.. All you do is ask me about the pills that I take and whether or not I’m taking them correctly,” Alora scoffs, “Do you think that’s ‘helping me out’? Because that’s a shit way of doing it.” She turns around, holding her shirt in one hand while holding a pair of pants in the other.
“Because that’s all you do! That’s all I see! Ever since Vander gave you those pills, you’ve been heading over to that stupid brothel every time you run out because it’s the only place you can get them without any questions asked!” Vi was just as frustrated and Alora looked slightly surprised while Vi rolled her eyes, “Ekko would follow you sometimes, I wasn’t stalking you.”
“Either way, it’s none of your business.” Alora spat out, shoving her clothes into the drawers as she reaches for the door but Vi comes up from behind with her arm striking past Alora and slams the door shut.
“Get out.” Alora grits her teeth while Vi shakes her head.
“Not until you tell me what’s going on.”
“Nothing is going on!”
“You don’t think I’ve noticed? Ever since that day Sebastian came over to get you, you’ve been acting so different and you wouldn’t think anyone would notice?” Vi continued on, “You’ve been avoiding us and bailing out on Powder too! We don’t see you as much and I thought it was because maybe you’re still sad about your mother--”
“Mention my mother again and I’ll have you flying through this door.” Alora cuts Vi off and was visibly pissed; clearly wasn’t keen on taking this conversation anymore, “You know, if this is how you felt then you should’ve wrote it in a card so that it comes with the gift.” Saying sarcastically as she steps to the side, grabbing the doorknob with a sharp twist and swings it open.
“Leave.” Alora folds her arms and Vi decided to not fight back on it. There was so much that Vi wanted to say but considering how little Alora responded back, Vi didn’t want to waste her breath.
Vi leaves the room without another word and Alora shuts the door as she closed her eyes, rubbing her face out of frustration and retreats back onto the bed. Alora didn’t know what she was doing, heck, she knew that Vi is slowly catching up to her and it’s only a matter of time until Vi finds out the truth.
Alora slides her hand towards her pillow and grabs something underneath which happens to be the pill bottle as she opens it and taps out three onto her palm, taking it immediately without any water. Her mind was racing and her anxiety was shooting through the roof, she could barely hold it together if Vi hadn’t left any later.
“Quite the conversation you had, little sis.” Alora’s head snapped and it was Sebastian leaning against the door frame, “But she is right though, are you taking those pills correctly?”
“I don’t have the time for you, Sebastian.” Alora snapped as she watched Sebastian reach into his pocket and pull something out with a small chuckle.
“You sure? Because,” Sebastian then pulls out a folded paper and tilts his head to the side, “I’m sure you’ll have time for me now.” He clears his throat and Alora shoots up from her bed, her heart pounding.
“How did you get that?” Alora made her way over to Sebastian but he began to pace the room with the letter up in the air, “Give it back!”
“Dear Alora, I’ve received your letter and your concerns on my return hopes it puts you at ease that I will be arriving back in three days. In regards to your request, which I hope you’ve thought this through, you have my permission and approval to ask Benzo-- Argh!”
Alora wasn’t tall like Sebastian, in fact, she was much shorter but she didn’t let height be her disadvantage. She does a small jump and her hand was clamped onto Sebastian’s hair as she yanks him down to her level, even lower, ripping the letter out of his hand and Sebastian grabbed Alora by the wrist as he twisted her arm then preys her hands off his hair.
“You’ve been acting so high and mighty, you think you can get away with this?” Sebastian says as he kicks the inside of her legs and got her sitting on her knees with her arm twisted and pinned against her back, “You think you’ll be untouchable when they find out that we aren’t from here?” Sebastian leans in close, “You’re pathetic.”
Alora grits her teeth, jerks her head back fast which lands her a solid hit on Sebastian’s nose and he lets out loud grunt, falling back and lets go his sister. She stands back up, turning around and tackles him to the ground.
“You were always the weak one,” She said, “you were the fucking coward that always ran his mouth but never knew how to throw a punch to match it.” Alora began to throw in heavy punches after each sentence, “You stood behind me because you never knew how to be your own person.” Breathless, she goes to throw another punch but she stopped and stared at her brother that was laying in his own pool of blood.
“What happened to you?” Alora asked as she gets off her brother and takes a few steps back, “Why do I have to fight you all the time? Do you not care anymore?” She made sure to create some distance between the two as she didn’t want to be in a position to fight her brother again.
“I stopped caring about you when our mother died,” Sebastian bluntly says, “it was always about you when it came to her because you were the one that was going to carry on her legacy.. Not me.” Turning his head to the side to spit out the blood that was building up in his mouth.
“Because what I do is nothing compared to what Alora can do,” He looks up at Alora, “my dearest sister can do it all so what’s the point of trying when I have a sister that doesn’t have a single flaw in her.”
“But wait,” Sebastian continues, “Alora begins to show interest towards a group of rats in some shitty ass city and has, what it seems like, a perfect blooming relationship with someone..” He slowly gets up and his lips formed a wicked smile that Alora has never seen before.
“But that someone has a strong hatred towards people that’s above her class.. Should I say more, sister?” Sebastian had Alora in a choke hold and there was no way of Alora getting her happy ending, “And that bullshit of a letter aunt Piper wrote? It’s not happening so I suggest you tell Vi because there’s no way I’m staying an extra day in this place.”
“You aren’t happy so you want to shit on me and make sure I suffer just as much as you? Is that it?” Alora says, “You’re the one that’s fucking pathetic, Sebastian. I’m not the one trying to sabotage someone else’s happiness.”
“Happiness..?” Sebastian lingered on that word, “This? All of this around you makes you happy?” He looked around the room and laughs, “You’re blind to think that this is happiness.”
“We are free to do whatever we want, we don’t have any curfews or an adult watching us twenty-four seven! Isn’t that what you want? Some freedom?” Alora furrowed her brows and Sebastian sighed heavily at her response.
Sebastian makes his way over to the door, holding his nose to prevent any more blood being spilled on the floor. He opens the door, looking back at his sister and replies with:
“What I want is way beyond what you can imagine.”
And with that, Sebastian leaves the room. A minute goes by and Benzo walks in, noticing the blood on the floor and Alora in the corner of the room as she awkwardly waved at him.
“... Do I need to ask what happened?” Benzo asked and Alora was hesitant at first but she shook her head and he nods at her response.
“Good cause I want this cleaned up.”
☾ ⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚
The next two days felt like a drag. Alora hadn’t spoken to Vi and hasn’t made the effort to even try because it was better this way and Vi wouldn’t have to know about Alora if she stays away. Vi, on the other hand, she had been contemplating and of course she wanted to apologize but was so stubborn about it that she didn’t want to go first.
Vander couldn’t help but notice Vi has been hanging around him more often in the bar and hasn’t really been out of the Last Drop. There wasn’t any need for him to find out because Clogger, Mylo and Powder had told Vander about what happened between Alora and Vi.
“Alora and Vi got into a fight the other day and now they aren’t talking.” Powder says as Clogger nodded and Mylo rolled his eyes.
“She convinced me to go dumpster diving with her cause of that stupid gift she made for Alora.” Mylo crossed his arms and both Powder & Clogger punched Mylo on both shoulders, “Ow!”
“Vi will listen to you if you talk to her,” Clogger says, “She won’t listen to us.” He adjusted his googles and Vander took a long look at the kids before he sighed and gave a brief nod.
“Yeah, alright then. Where is she?”
“In the room.” Powder says as they all looked back at the door and Vander cleared his throat.
“Alright then. I don’t want anyone coming in until I’m done.”
-
Vander walks into the backroom, slowly trotting down the steps as he and Vi made brief eye contact with each other then she looks away. Vander was quiet and made his way over to the couch while Vi was slumped on the single chair. Neither said a word and Vander didn’t know how to start it off either.
“I know they told you. I heard their loud mouths through that door,” Vi broke the tension as she sighed, “but it’s nothing. We just fought and that’s it.”
“You sure?” Vander says, “Seems a lot more than that.” He watched her say nothing to throwing her arms up in the air and smacking her lips.
Vi stands up from her seat, “I just don’t understand how she could switch up like that. She’s been acting so weird lately and I don’t know why,” She began to pace around the room while Vander silently watched, “every time I ask her about it, I get shut down and I know I can’t force her to tell me because if she were Powder, Clogger or My--”
“But they aren’t,” Vander cuts in as he could see how much it stressed her out, “Alora is different from the rest of you guys and you have to learn to give her some time to adjust to everything. It doesn’t come to your hand willingly, you know.” He watched her plot herself back down on the single chair followed by an eye roll.
“Oh, yeah? And how do you know that?”
“Because I knew her since she was a little girl,” Vander says and this caught Vi’s attention as he smiled at her, “she was small and timid but guess that’s different times back then.”
“Wait.. You knew Alora? Why didn’t you tell me?” Vi sits up on her seat and Vander shrugs with a smug smile.
“Alora is a very private person, Vi.”
“What was she like as a kid?”
Vander leans forward and sighs, “Well, for starters she never spoke as a child, we all thought she was deaf but turns out that Sebastian was just the same and they were just a pair of mute kids.” He smiled, “But she was smart and cunning. Knew what she wanted and how to get it. Alora never really came to me, maybe because I look scary, but she always went to Benzo.”
“Benzo? Benzo knew Alora?” Vi was in disbelief and Vander seemed surprised by this. “I thought you said they were family just to keep it less confusing.”
“She really didn’t tell you anything, did she?” Vander said more than asked as he shrugged his shoulders, “Benzo grew up with Alora’s mother and their father isn’t in the picture.. Hasn’t been for a long time. Benzo will never admit it but he had a soft spot for that girl, would do anything for her if she so much pointed at something.”
Vi was so intrigued. She never knew anything about Alora and she wanted to know more but knowing Vander, he wasn’t going to stick around all day and talk about her when she was just down the street.
“I’m not going to sit here and talk about her all day,” Vander stands up from the couch, “I’ve never seen you this bothered before so maybe it’s best that you go and apologize to her.”
“But--”
“Alora hasn’t been here for long so you can’t expect her to open up to you like that all the time,” Vander says, “be patient with her and she’ll come around eventually.” He then walks over to Vi, putting a hand on her shoulder and smiled, “They told me that you got her a gift. What’s the occasion?”
Vi looked down, feeling her face heat up and she shrugged her shoulders, “Nothing, just something for her..” Mumbling under her breath and Vander chuckles as he makes his way over to the staircase.
“If you like her that much then I suggest you move your ass and tell her before it’s too late.” Vander got to the top of the staircase and he opens the door as he looked over to Vi who looked stunned and his smile widen more.
“You two make it so obvious, it’s almost painful to watch you guys.” Vi rolled her eyes at his comment and she made her way to the top of the stairs as she stopped at the door then suddenly tackles Vander into a tight embrace, burying her face into his chest.
“Thank you..”
“Always.”

“Erm, Alora,” Benzo calls out for Alora who was quietly sweeping in the corner and he cleared his throat, “I need to speak to you about something.” He watched Alora slowly walk over to the front counter and she had her hands behind her back, eyes wondering around the shop.
“I’ve noticed you and Sebastian aren’t together as usual anymore,” Benzo says, “not to mention your brothers blood on the floor the other day. If I’m going to have you two under my roof then I at least expect some respect my shop.” folding his arms and he sighed deeply.
Alora was quiet but she was listening as she nodded at his request when he was done talking. Benzo didn’t know what was going on these days and it feels as though its his fault for not being around the twins or Ekko more often than he should be since enforcers are multiplying in the streets, he’s barely in the shop nowadays.
“I don’t know what’s gotten into you lately bu--” Benzo stopped when he noticed Alora’s eyes shifting over to him finally and her eyes were building up with tears. His face soften up and she was slightly shaking. Benzo didn’t say another word as he walked around the counter with a small sigh, grabbing Alora’s arm and gently pulling her into a hug.
“This must be overwhelming for you,” Benzo whispers and Alora began to sob quietly into his chest as his head gently combed the top of her head, “I’m sorry I haven’t been around.” He wrapped his arms around her tighter as Alora couldn’t say anything but sob into his chest.
Alora felt weak. Useless. She felt as if nothing was going right no matter how far she goes to fix the situation. Stuck between wanting a life of her own and keeping the people around her close; even if they don’t see eye to eye.
Her greatest weakness was love. And she was damn good at it.
Once Alora had calmed down, Benzo pulled away and chuckled at the sight of Alora’s face. Her eyes are a bit red and lips were puffy with a few hair stuck to her face due to the tears streaming down her face still. Benzo smiled as he wiped her tears and moved her hair to the side as he gently cups her face.
“Last time I saw you cry was when you found a butterfly in your room,” Benzo commented and Alora scoffs as she broke into a smile, “you kept telling me to get it out and wouldn’t stop throwing pillows at it.” He chuckled at the memory while Alora smiled, sniffing loudly as she began to collect herself.
“You managed to hit the butterfly with the pillow and its wing was broken so I put in a small box,” Benzo says as he pulled away for Alora to breathe and have some space, “and even though you were deathly afraid of that butterfly, you stayed by its side until it got better.”
Benzo then placed his hand on her shoulder, “I don’t know why you and Vi fought or why you fought your brother either,” sighing softly as she gently placed her hand on top of his, “I know it’s hard but they’ll need a person like you.”
“I don’t even know who I am,” Alora whispered, “so it’s hard to picture it when you say it like that.” She seemed to have calm down as she clears her throat and wipes her eyes once more. Benzo frowned, his hands finding Alora’s cheeks as he cups it with a gentle squeeze.
“You’ve got moxie in your eyes,” He says, “I doubt you’ll have trouble finding out who you are at the end.” patting her cheek gently and he lets go with a satisfied sigh. He goes to say something else but Alora was quick to pull something out of her pocket and she hands it over to Benzo.
“What’s this?” Benzo asked but Alora didn’t say anything as she chews on the bottom of her lip and so he doesn’t question it any further as he opens the letter and begins to read it.
It took him a moment but he looked back at Alora with a stunned face. He looks back at the letter then back at Alora again who gave him an awkward smile then Benzo smiled brightly as he pulled her into a tight hug.
“Where do I sign? Here?” He pulled away from and walked back to the counter, looking for a pen then places the paper on the counter and wasted no time signing the paper with his smile growing bigger.
He looked up at Alora, “Is that all you need? Just the papers signed?” Alora nodded and Benzo seemed satisfied as he folded the piece of paper then tucks it into his breast pocket and chuckles. “I’ll tell Ekko the news as soon as he gets here. I do have to run but I won’t be a while, I’ll bring some food back so don’t eat anything.”
Benzo leaves the store with Alora still standing in the same spot, feeling good but also feeling like she just made things worse. Meanwhile, Sebastian was on the rooftop watching through the scope and the wide screen glass as he grits his teeth.
“Wrong move, little sis.”

This hasn’t been edited because it’s been hectic BUT I might go back to it if I’m bothered. Also, it could be just me but I don’t want to use caps cause then it sounds so dramatic when they’re arguing and I cant take it serious??
I don’t know HAHHAHA anyways, enjoy.

Vi was on her way over, mumbling over her lines as she fiddled with the black velvet box in her hand. She made sure to rehearse her lines accordingly as Vi kept going over and over her lines.
“Tell her that you’re sorry, promise her that you won’t say anything else stupid and you’ll stop prying into her business unless she comes to you, then you give her the gift you made and hope she likes it.. And if she doesn’t?”
Vi didn’t plan that far ahead as this could lead down to different paths if Alora didn’t want to speak to her, see her or anything to do with Vi. Frustrated and annoyed, she kicks an empty canister in her path and watches it roll towards someones shoes.
Looking up at the person in front of her, they turn around and it’s Sebastian with a smug on his face. Vi looked annoyed as she balled up her fist and Sebastian noticed as he puts his hands up in the air with a chuckle escaping his lips.
“Whoa there.. No need to get frisky with me.”
“What do you want, Sebastian?” Vi was straight to the point and hearing this made Sebastian feel as if he should be the same too and also get to the point.
Sebastian cleared his throat as he pulled something out of his pocket, “I’ve got somewhere to be but here,” He hands over a photo that’s been folded in half as it shows he’s kept it carried in his pocket for a while, “I forgot to give this to Alora so hand this over to her.” He says in a bored tone while rubbing his temples.
Vi looks down at the photo and sees Alora sitting on Benzo’s shoulders, Sebastian in a headlock by Vander and their mother standing in the middle, laughing mid shot in the photo. They were standing in front of a house with boxes set on ground and stacked as the setting looked nothing like The Lanes or anywhere in the city of Zaun.
No, it can’t be.. Right?
Vi goes to hand the photo back to him, “Why are you showing this to me and why aren’t you giving it to your sister? Benzo’s store is the other way.” She didn’t know what to think of this but either way, she didn’t like where this was going.
“I told you already, I have places to be and people to meet.” Sebastian shrugged his shoulder as he tucked his hand into his pockets, “She’s been avoiding you, hasn’t she?” He asked and Vi kept quiet which gave Sebastian his answer that he needed to know.
“You should show her that photo to her and maybe she’ll give you an answer,” Sebastian says and Vi was confused at this point. Who were the twins exactly? What is their history with Benzo and Vander? She was so confused that she didn’t know who to believe; was any of them telling the truth or just twisting it?
“.. It’s not what I think it is, right? Alora would’ve told me by now.” Vi was beginning to catch on the more she looked into the photo and her heart was pounding. Sebastian began to move his legs as he slowly detaches himself from this conversation.
“If she told you then you wouldn’t be asking that question.” This was the last thing he said before he had left Vi standing there, alone, with a photo in her hand and tore her eyes away from it as she could feel heart get a little heavy but resumes walking.

Alora has been managing the store in Benzo’s absence and was nearing to a close as she began to pack things onto the shelf quietly. Hearing the store door ring open and close, she assumed it was another customer but she was tired from all the crying today and wanted some early time off.
“Sorry, we’re closed for today. Come back tomorrow when the sign lights up.” Alora announced as she didn’t turn her back and continues to stack the items that were sitting in the box, having it to be Ekko’s job to stack, but without him it was pointless to wait around for that little rascal.
Alora didn’t hear the door open and close again so she turns around, sighing annoyingly. “I said--” Alora stopped when she saw Vi standing at the door with a small black velvet box in her hand and Alora cleared her throat, “Oh, uhm.. Hi..” It just got awkward fast.
“I forgot to give this to you,” Vi walks over to the counter and places the box down while Alora was slowly making her way over and nods slowly, “you don’t need to keep it if you don’t want it--”
“No!” Alora says abruptly and she catches herself doing it so she retracts herself and says it in a more softer tone, “I mean.. No, it’s fine. Just leave it there and I’ll come to it when I’m done with these.” She then slowly turns around and this time was taking her sweet time stocking the shelves while Vi watched in slight confusion.
“.. You don’t want to look at it now?” Vi asked as she watched Alora turn around while holding an item on her hand and she looked a bit surprised as Alora pointed at the box.
“Oh? Oh, yeah I can look at it now.” Feeling her cheeks heat up, she didn’t realize how awkward this was because she was really hoping Vi would leave but part of her wanted to stay as well. “You said that Mylo helped too?”
Vi nodded as she shuffled closer to the counter when Alora began to hover over the box and she pressed her lips together into a smile, “Yeah, he didn’t have too but insisted because.. Well, I don’t really do this kind of stuff.” Vi admits and Alora looked up at her with a small frown.
“Oh..” That’s all Alora could say because now it was making her feel shit about the whole thing as she nods, “That’s really nice of you and Mylo to do.. Thank you.” She reaches out for the box and was about to open it until Vi cleared her throat and got Alora’s attention.
“Uhm.. Before you open it,” Vi scratches the back of her neck and looked a bit hesitant, “I just wanted to apologize about what happened between us when we last spoke. I was obviously stepping out of line when you clearly had things going on and I should’ve just been patient with you until you came around because I knew you woul--”
Alora couldn’t bare another word out of Vi’s mouth because truth in it all, it wasn’t really Vi’s fault and rather Alora being scared about it but she was thankful that Vi came around and for that, Alora tackled her into a tight hug with her face snuggling into Vi’s neck.
“You don’t have to apologize,” Alora whispers gently, “I’m just glad you came back.” Feeling Vi’s arms wrapped around her waist and Alora smiled into her neck as she slowly pulled away with her head tilt to the side. “Does this mean we’re good?”
Vi smiled brightly, “Yeah, we’re good.” Pulling away from the hug as her hand seemed to have slid their way down to Alora’s arm then her hand and holds onto it for a moment, “But is there anything you want to tell me? You don’t have to tell me but if there’s something wrong then just say that and I won’t ask anymore questions.”
The question didn’t throw Alora completely off as Vi had given her options this time to either express herself, not do it or both at the same time which comforted her in a way and Alora gave Vi a small smile.
“Uhm.. I do, actually.” This made Vi’s heart jump. Finally. She was getting to know something going on about Alora though Alora seemed a bit unsure as she chewed on her lip and slowly says, “But you have to wait until Benzo gets back. Is that okay?”
What does Benzo have to do with all this? Doesn’t matter. Vi was happy that she was finally getting to the bottom of all this and completely forgetting about the photo that was tucked into her pocket.
“Yeah. More than okay.”
“Alright, so can I open my gift now?”
Alora had her hand on the box and Vi was a bit nervous but she nodded anyway. Noticing how nervous Vi looked made Alora giggle a little as she goes to open the box but almost dropped it when someone came busting through the door and the girls looked over to see Ekko trying to catch his breath, his eyes wide.
Alora puts down the box as she walked over with a worried look on her face.
“Ekko, what’s wrong?” Alora placed her hand on Ekko’s shoulder, “You okay? Are you hurt?” Ekko shook his head as he placed his hand on top of hers and the look on his face made Alora’s stomach tie a knot. Something’s up.
“Benzo--Benzo and Vander--Enforcers--Coming.” Ekko says between his pants as he points out the window and Alora slowly walks over with Vi following from behind.
The streets were slowly filling in with enforcers, pushing people out of the way and some were even interrogating/hassling them but Alora could see some making their way over here.
“Fuck, they’re looking for the crystals that Powder has.” Vi says and Alora turned her head over to her about to question her but Vi already knew, “It happened yesterday. They completely raided our hideout and they were after the crystals. Whatever it is, it seems important to them.”
“Yeah, no shit.” Alora backs up from the window, “We need to regroup with the others and find a place to hid--” She jumped at the sound of the door opening so suddenly as the kids looked over to see Benzo and Vander entering which made Alora relax a bit seeing Benzo making his way over.
“What’s happening?” Alora asked but Vander said there wasn’t much time as Benzo grabbed Ekko and Alora, huddling them together.
“Ekko, I need you to get to the backroom right now.” Benzo says as he ushers Ekko into the back room but had Alora stay and when Ekko was out of ear-shot, he looks back at Alora with a small frown when she placed her hand on his chest.
“Benzo, you’re scaring me.” On the outside, she seemed completely fine but on the inside she was so scared and confused. She didn’t know what was going on. “What’s going on?”
“Alora, there just some things that are out of our control.” Benzo begins to say, “The world is a harsh place and it’ll keep knocking you down until you give up,” His hands then cups Alora’s face as he smiled gently, “but you’re a fighter and I know you’ll come out at the end of it just fine.”
“Benzo, what are you saying?” Alora didn’t know where he was going with this as she looked over to see that Vander was probably giving Vi a similar talk as well. “Why can’t you tell me what’s going on? Why is there enforcers out there?”
“Where’s your brother?” Benzo completely ignored her questions as Alora shrugged her shoulders, her heart was picking up the pace and she looked a bit more frightened.
“I-I don’t know, I haven’t seen him all day.”
“That’s alright, he can hold himself out there.” Benzo says as Alora was beginning to frustrated with him. “Here, hold this for me.” He reaches into his breast pocket and pulls out the folded paper as he tucks it into Alora’s pocket as she grew frustrated, slapping Benzo on the arm.
“What’s going on!! Why aren’t you telling me!” Alora shouted at him as she pushes his hands out of the way and Benzo took a moment to look at Alora as his lips formed a side grin and a small chuckle.
“Your mother wasn’t lying when she said that you were going to get her looks and attitude.” Benzo says as he leans down and kissed Alora at the top of her head then he sighs softly, “You’ve got so much love for everyone, Alora. It’ll make people want to take that advantage so you must be careful who you hand your heart too.”
What happened next happened so quickly. Benzo had pushed Alora into the backroom with Vi following right behind. Alora lands on the ground and lets out a groan when Vi landed on top of her but Vi was quick to roll to her side as Alora gets up and starts pounding the door.
“Benzo!! Benzo, open this door!”
“Vander!!”
The girls shouting for one of them to open up but they stopped for a moment when they heard another voice. Scratch that. It was more than one in the shop and they tried to listen in.
“--Without you in the under city, this place could crumble.”
“Benzo will take my place. He may not have my charms but it’ll do.” Vander replies as Alora could regonize the other voice but she decided to say nothing to Vi while Vi was pounding on the door.
“You’ll be gone for a long time.. Why are you doing this?”
“.. It’s the only way.”
“No!! No, it’s not the only way! Benzo! Benzo, please!!” Vi was pleading. Begging. Pounding and slapping the door but it was no use because no one was coming to get the door.
Alora took a couple steps back and looked up at the small stained glass window and could hear shouting so she got more closer to hear what was going on. Vi was right behind her listening in while Ekko was standing in the corner quietly and watched the girls desperately trying to find a way to get out or get someone’s attention to get the door.
“Stop right there! Sto--”
SPLAT
Blood painted the stained glass window and the girls went quiet. Whatever was out there, Benzo and Vander were going to be next. There was silence but then a voice spoke up.
“What are you doing?! This wasn’t part of the deal!”
“Silco?” Alora heard Benzo’s voice and was relieved that it wasn’t his blood as she wasn’t sure about Vander but they remained quiet and hoped that Vander was alive too.
“Yeah, well I was offered a better deal. I heard that one of you are holding two very important people.. Twins? Perhaps? Very rare to encounter, I must say.”
Alora’s heart dropped when she heard this and Vi looked at Alora with a questioned look but doesn’t say anything. Alora chewed the bottom of her lip, her eyes were NOT looking at Vi because Vi was staring hard at Alora.
“Oh, yeah? Haven’t seen anything.” Benzo says sarcastically as he narrowed his eyes at Slico, “And even if I did, what’s it to you?”
“Don’t act more dumb than you are,” Slico replied, “I’m sure it’s hard enough for you to even wrap your head around basic things.” He throws the bag of coins towards Marcus as he gave Benzo a bored look.
“I was paid a generous amount to have these children come home to their grandmother who, oh so help me, misses them dearly.” Slico added the dramatic line in between his sentence and Benzo wasn’t having it as he gripped onto the pipe he picked up from the floor.
“You’ve got some nerve to come here and think you can take them!” Benzo shouted while Silco rolled his eyes.
“Use that thick head of yours for once, Benzo. Do you really want them to stay here when they have a home already in Piltover?” Silco asked, “They can be happy and thriving, Benzo. Do you truly want them to suffer?”
“You’re topsider?”
Alora’s biggest fear had come true as she looked over at Vi who looked betrayed, angry, confused; everything was getting too much for her and Alora tried to reach out to her but Vi smacked her hand as she looked at Alora up and down in disgust.
“If you hand them over now, I promise to put in a good word in that they can come down to visit you.” Silco says, “Especially that girl. I’ve heard so much about her, she sounds.. Promising.” Alora looked back out at the window as she shook her head.
“Benzo.. Please.. Don’t.” Alora whispered as it went quiet until Benzo broke into laughter, breaking the tension.
“As if I would give up my kids.”
“Your kids? My, what an interesting choice of words.” Silco was amused, “Well, then.. I’ve done all I can. Seems like the--your kids will miss you dearly.” He gave Benzo a wicked smile and Benzo grits his teeth, gripping onto the pipe as he charged towards him.
“No, Benzo wait!!”
Everything happened in a blink of an eye. Something swooshed in the air and Benzo’s body flopped to the ground while Silco sighs heavily. Vander fell to his knees, calling out to Benzo but he wasn’t responsive. Alora took a few steps back, her hand covering her mouth as the tears began to spill immediately. Falling over her own feet as she stayed on the ground and Ekko came to her side, hugging her tightly around the neck and silently cried into her neck.
“Where are they?” Slico asked one last time and Vander just glared at him, giving him no response so he did what he does best. “Take him.” Something in the air swooshed again and the sound of Vander’s body making contact to the ground was enough for Vi to scream out for him.
“VANDER!! VANDER, NO!!” Vi was completely drained out as she slides down the wall and sobs quietly while Alora watched with guilt and shame rushing through her.
-
What it seemed like forever, Mylo and Clogger had opened the backroom door and saw Alora with Ekko in one corner while Vi was in the other. Vi was the first to leave the backroom then it was Alora and Ekko.
“Vi.. Benzo, he--”
“We know.” That’s all Vi said as she paced around the shop, trying to process and put the puzzles together while Alora was about to make her way over to the door to see Benzo but she was stopped when Vi blocked the door.
“So you weren’t going to tell me that you’re a topsider?”
“Wait what? She’s a topsider?” Mylo butts in but Cogger nudges him, indicating that this conversation was between Alora and Vi. Not them.
“I was going to tell you.”
“Oh, yeah? And why are people looking for you and Sebastian?” Vi pressed on, “Why are you so important? I know topsiders are important but for Silco it means there’s something going on.”
“I can’t get into that right now, Vi--”
“Bullshit!!” Vi shouted, “You’ve been lying to us, keeping secrets and avoiding us-- Acting like you care, when clearly, I should’ve noticed you were acting so high and mighty because only a snobby topsider like you would act like that.”
“Are you fucking kidding me?! Everything that I did, I did it out of pure intentions and nothing else among that! But if you can’t see through that grudge you still hold for people higher in your class then I guess you’ll just be stuck in an endless loop that’s clearly draining you out and serving you no purpose.”
“Pure intentions? Higher in your class?” Vi scoffed, “We aren’t fucking charities or strays that should be picked up and dropped off when you think you’re finished with your job, Alora. Oh, but forgive me, I should’ve known that preppy lying, princess like you is given everything on a sliver platt--.”
Alora slapped Vi hard across the face and was in tears at this point. There was small gasps in the background but nothing more than that. Alora did her best to not sob on the spot but Vi was making it harder when she was hammering her down like that. Her eyes traveled towards the boys then Ekko and looks back at Vi.
“I know I haven’t been the best person of interest lately,” Alora begins to say, “and I’ve been keeping secrets from you but was it really necessary to call me that shit? Because I didn’t tell you that Sebastian and I are topsiders?” She found it so humorous that she didn’t know whether to laugh or yell out of frustration.
“Yes, Vi. We are topsiders. We are the fucking snobby people that lives in a big fancy house with butlers and maids ready to serve us whenever we wanted, and wear the most fanciest clothes.” Alora sarcastically says and pauses for a moment before letting out a dry chuckle.
“You know what I find so funny? I was so afraid to tell you because I didn’t want to be looked or treated differently,” Alora then pulls out the folded paper and she walks over to the counter then slams it on the counter, “but I guess it doesn’t matter if I had told you or not because you’ve just showed me what it’ll be like.”
“Alora, you kept this from us. From me. Don’t you think it’s selfish to be doing that--”
“Selfish? I’M the selfish one?” Alora couldn’t believe what she was hearing. “I didn’t tell you because I knew you were going to switch up so I thought it would be best for Benzo to tell you the news instead of me since you’ve known him longer than you’ve known me.”
“Why him?” Vi snapped as she couldn’t wrap her head around why Benzo is between all of this as she pressed on, “Why is he so important?!”
“Because we were getting adopted!!”
Silence.
“We were getting adopted, Violet! He signed the papers today. That’s why he wasn’t in the shop majority of the fucking day because he was trying to rack up some big feast for all of us to celebrate and now his fucking dead body is outside!!”
Alora couldn’t take it anymore. She was sobbing at this point and so was Vi as she realized how much things she’s said to Alora that she can’t take back, and now Alora had completely lost it. Vi didn’t know what to say or come back from that and Alora noticed, causing her to roll her eyes and scoff.
“I felt.. Safe around you and the others. I felt like I belonged with you guys,” Alora looked back at the boys who were dead silent and back at Vi who just looked guilty, “but I guess I can’t belong to a group of people I call ‘friends’ because of the status I was born in.”
“I’m sorry that I wasn’t the person you wanted me to be, Vi.” Alora gently says, “I may be a topsider but I’m also a person with feelings.” Her voice cracked as she sniffed her nose, wiped her tears away and cleared her throat.
Vi took a few steps forward with her hand reaching out to her but Alora stepped back and shook her head. There was a silence exchange that Alora didn’t want Vi near her so Vi didn’t budge like she always did, but instead, she slowly pulls out the photo she’s been keeping in her pocket and she places it gently onto the counter behind Alora.
“Alora, I--”
“I think I got the message, Vi..” Alora whispers, “Go save Vander while you still can. I’d hate for you to meet the same fate as Ekko and I did.”
Vi was shoulder to shoulder with Alora and Vi couldn’t stop her tears from falling because she knew that this friendship with Alora was over. Everything that was said will now be forever remembered by Alora and Vi just wanted to literally die on the spot.
“.. I love you.”
“And I hate you.”
Vi decided to not reply back and it was in her best interest to leave as Alora had told her earlier. Alora looked down at her feet, listening to Vi and the others quietly leave the shop and as soon as the door closed shut, Alora dropped to the floor and began sobbing into her hands. Ekko made his way over, dropping to his knees and his arms wrapped around Alora’s neck with his face buried into her neck.
