You wanna know another reason why the chips and the clones being brainwashed via trigger phrase are better than "they were conditioned to obey orders" (how is that different from brainwashing?)?
It's a perfect embodiment of the selfishness that is the sith and dark side
Joining the dark side and sith is not something you do by accident (contrary to what acolyte/leslye headland believe), it's a choice, a deliberate and knowing choice, it is choosing evil and selflessness
And that's just it, choice
Those who used the chips-Dooku who had them built into the Clones, Palpatine who activated the chips, and Anakin who facilitated it-those who had chosen the dark side, took away the Clones ability to choose for themselves
Is there anything more selfish than choosing evil for yourself while denying others of that choice?
And at the same time, the chips also demonstrate the goodness of the Jedi and Clones
"Kill the Jedi because I say so", could never work, the Jedi are so noble, so pure hearted, and so beloved by the Clones and Galaxy (even with the years of their reputation being smeared), and the Clones are so independent, so honorable, so dedicated, and so loyal
The bonds between the Jedi and Clones were too strong, the latter could not willingly betray the former, or stand aside if another army was sent after the Jedi, no army who fought by the Jedi's side for years could turn on them, not in great enough numbers to significantly dent the Jedi's numbers
Mind control was the only way the sith could be certain of eliminating most of the Jedi
And before anyone mentions slick or krell, I think the fact that those are the only real (legends doesn't count) examples of Jedi/Clones who didn't like the Clones/Jedi speaks to them being far in a way massive exceptions
