Despite having set up the date herself, Destiny was late. She had someone else from Papaya drop her off at the bar and made her way inside without being carded - as she was a friend of the bouncer’s. He sometimes subbed in for Bentley at her club. She was already 17 minutes late and high as a kite. She had put some glitter body spray on to make herself smell like what she thought was the perfume that Janis Ian in Mean Girl’s described as ‘baby prostitute’ smell. As soon as she saw Theo seated at the bar, she turned his seat around and wrapped her arms around his neck, positioning herself between his legs.  “Long time, no see.”  @theoriggs​

“I am so glad to be back home,” The blonde admitted with the breeze of a laugh as she claimed the seat opposite of her company at the table. Leaving the city hadn’t been in the plans but she’d been away from work long enough. When the call came in from her agent that she had an audition opportunity she'd jumped at the chance. Now over a week and one red eye flight later she was finally back where she belonged. “So,” Taking a sip from the already present glass of water at her setting she met his gaze and immediately flashed a warm smile. “I’m really happy you were free to meet up today. How’s everything been going?”

Avery never did make it over to the firetrucks after assuring Theo she was on her way. She’d gotten close, sure, but then she’d stumbled upon Colt and all hell had quickly broken loose. All she could hope now was that Theo hadn’t been anywhere close when it’d happened. At least an hour, if not two, had passed before she finally made her way into the lounge, spotting him and Lucy seated on one of the few couches scattered about. While it was clear she’d been crying she didn’t say anything about what kept her from meeting him for obvious reasons. “Sorry I bailed for a little bit there... how’s she doin’?”

The tiny bell above the door at Cafe Agora chimed to announce a new customer and the melodic sound, even though brief, managed to snare Avery’s attention. She must have looked up to see who had entered the establishment at least a dozen times so far but each time she’d met an unfamiliar face. This time was different. Theo strolled in through the front doors looking impossibly larger than the seventeen year old boy she remembered from her youth. What in the world had he been eating--- Miracle Grow? The blonde didn’t have long to indulge in her curious thoughts because suddenly his gaze found hers across the room and he was heading over. “I can’t believe you’re really here,” she announced when he was finally within hearing distance. Releasing a soft laugh she rose from her chair, a little unsteady due to her leg, and crossed the remaining few feet until she could pull him into a hug. “I--- how are you?”

With a oversized bag in her arms Avery navigated the busy pathway until she could reach Theo’s side. It wasn’t his attention she was after, though. Her blue orbs remained fixed on the small child eagerly looking past his legs. “Alright, Miss Lucy, I just bought more than enough caramel corn to fuel us for at least an hour of searchin’ for the most perfect pumpkin you’ve ever seen.” Cutting her glance up to touch upon his face she smirked before turning back to his daughter, “and maybe if we’re extra sweet we can even talk your daddy into buyin’ us two... what do you think?”
