Giving my presentation on the importance of captioning videos on YouTube at @vidcon was such an amazing moment! I put lots of research and thought into it and I always love speaking in front of a crowd (I’m one of those weird people who gets nervous AFTER I’ve done something. Anyone else like that? 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️) Thanks to popular demand I’ve decided to turn the presentation into five easy and instructional videos. I want to do the subject matter justice and make them both high in production value and really thorough so the plan is to put them out in September. After mistakenly calling out @samicat (a theatergoer at a recent Hadestown performance) for what was assumed to be a video recording of the show, Lillias White (who replaced Andre DeShields last month) has yet to release any statement concerning her actions. However, the theater and the producers have rightly called on there to be more education and communication with the cast and crew, so that something like this never happens again. There were just so many failures that led up to this unfortunate incident. The biggest of which is a lack of communication with the cast about a well-needed service provided by the theater for deaf and blind audience members. But no matter the mistake Lillias White made, she doesn’t deserve the vitriol that has come against her on social media. How To Closed Caption Google Slide Presentation (Live)

In this video, I 'll show you how to closed caption a Google Slide presentation live.

STEPS: 1. Open your Google Slide presentation 2. Click on Present 3. Scroll to the bottom of the presentation 4. Click the Captions button drop-down arrow 5. Select the position and size of the captions 6. Click Captions 7. Begin speaking. The captions will start appearing.

Note: You need to speak clearly to minimize errors.
