A shady corporation she often spoke against challenged her to a competition between her and their representative surfer, when they entered the tidal wave, the representative surfer purposely kept doing tricks to make her wipe out, when she did, she was throne into the rocky parts of the shore where both her legs got injured and she was no longer able to surf.

As a result, she became angry and upset that her career was over and that company still was able to destroy environments. Her aunt hated her seeing her upset and passed down a seashell necklace to her which ended up having the power to turn her into a Cecaelia and she can grow in size so she attacked every single one of that companies factories that were stationed by water and now destroys ships that poach, smuggle, or pose any threat to the environment.
