Description: Have your favorite baby pajamas or blanket turned into a special memory bear, monkey, or other animal. Match the memory monkey's eye color to your own child's.
The pictures are samples of some keepsake stuffed animals I've made to give you an idea of some memory animals I've sewn. Each monkey has an individual look based on the pajamas you want the monkey made of. I usually use the feet of the pajamas as the animal's feet. If there are any special things on the fabric I try to incorporate it into the fabric. The bigger the embellishment, the greater chance that an extra pair of pajamas will need to be sent.
How it works: 1) After purchasing, you will send the clothing to me 2) My processing time starts at the time I receive the clothing 3) When the keepsake bear/animal is finished I will ship it to you along with any extra unused clothes you may have sent me
It usually takes less than a month (from the time I receive the clothes) to send the finished monkey to you. Processing time depends on how many projects are in line ahead of you at the time of purchase. Please contact me if you need a more accurate time estimate.
Finished monkey size starts around 12" tall in a sitting position (stretchier fabrics make the monkey bigger). This monkey is made with 2 pairs of pajamas size 3 months or larger or 1 pair of pajamas size 6 months or larger. Baby blankets work too, but please check with me about the length and width of your blanket as there is variety in sizing. The monkey needs separate lighter colored fabric for the face. I will plan on using non-pajama fabric I already have for the face unless you direct otherwise. You are certainly welcome to send additional pajamas/fabric for the monkey's face. Depending on your pajamas (e.g. directional fabric, large pictures/embellishments, etc.) an extra pair may need to be sent. Please contact me before sending pajamas and I will help you figure out what is needed.
The monkey's face can be made with safety eyes, permanent fabric marker, or appliqued felt eyes and stitched nose and mouth. Examples of each are pictured. (The light blue monkey with star on his tummy has safety eyes. The darker blue monkey with musical instruments on has appliqued eyes. The noses and mouths on both were stitched.)
