Hello everyone! Today, August 9th, is Café AU Lait's official birthday! Although the blog hasn't been up for very long, it's still been a year since the AU has been made!
In celebration of this milestone, I'm going to be doing an Ask Box Event! You can ask questions about or to characters directly from now until August 19, 2022!
Here's a list of the characters that have been revealed so far for you to ask questions to:
Creampuff came marching out of the kitchen, steam practically pouring out of his skull, eye sockets narrowing at the figure who had hidden behind the couch. He huffed, barely containing his frustration as he watched his second smallest brother duck behind the couch again.
“WELL IF IT WASN’T YOU, THEN WHO LEFT THE TRAIL OF CRUMBS TO LEAD THE ANTS IN??” He had his ungloved, scarred, hands placed on his hip bones, tapping his socked foot on the carpeted floor to vent his irritation.
Cloud peaked out from behind the white and purple couch they had in their living room. He had dived behind it the second he heard the steam audibly coming from the kitchen. “uhh… did you ask sansy?” He asked nervously, grin strained and sheepish.
Creampuff deadpanned, groaned dramatically and threw his hands up, making his way upstairs with a loud call of “OH SANSYYYYYYYYY!” That was in that infamous tone that was far too sweet for what he had planned.
The moment he was out of view, Cloud let out a long sigh, grin hiking up a little as he hurried his way around the couch again. He couldn’t help the string of mischievous giggles that fell out of his teeth as he shuffled into the kitchen. He was quick to rush up to the counter that had a long and uniform trail of ants on it leading up to the pile of cupcake crumbs that he had left out.
Yeah, ok - Loaf would likely be dragged by his hood downstairs to prove his innocence against Cloud’s ‘alibi’, but it would be fine. After all, Rocky had been lonely lately.
Their little rock companion rolled out from behind the cookie jar, shaking its little googly eyes around with a mischievous scratch of the counter. “shhh.” Cloud couldn’t help but snicker for himself. “c’mon. let’s get out of here before paps catches us.” He hurriedly scooped up their little pet rock, who was no doubt getting a little heavier everyday, and cradled them close.
He had planned to teleport out of the house, perhaps spend some time at Merlot’s again, claiming that he was just… redoing some design ideas to the merchandise or something of the sort… but as soon as he finished wiping up the counter, he turned around, and he was face to chest with his brother.
Sprinkle stared down at him, cross-armed, bone brow raised, and body language (and voice) that screamed “AND WHERE DID YOU THINK YOU’RE GOING?”
Cloud began to sweat and tap the toe of his shoe against the tile floor of their kitchen floor - a nervous tick. “n-nowhere important.” He stuttered out.
“AH, YES. BECAUSE CREAMPUFF RAMBLING ABOUT ANTS IN THE HOUSE DOESN’T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE OBVIOUS DIRT ON YOUR PHALANGES?” He pointed to Rocky, who had a few cupcake crumbs still on them.
“uhh… i plead the 5th..?” Cloud tried.
“WE’RE NOT EVEN FROM A WORLD WITH THOSE LAWS.” Sprinkle deadpanned… There was a long silence between the two of them, and it wasn’t broken until a loud “NYEH!!!” came from upstairs. “Alright, Fine.” He finally caved. “Check On Coffee For Me And Make More Of Those Shooting Star Sprinkles This Week And I’ll Cover For You.” He whispered.
“deal!” And with that, Cloud disappeared with a trail of stardust and an audible ‘poof!’
It wasn’t long after that Sprinkle had swept up the stardust Cloud left behind and closed the window that had been letting the ants in, saying that it could have been Rocky that had left the trail of crumbs… Creampuff simply sighed and was glad that the insects were exterminated and cut off from the house’s extremely large supply of sugar.
Another summer without an infestation of bugs avoided, all thanks to Rocky and Cloud.
Who is the most likely to kidnap and get kidnapped of the Moonlight, Treehouse, and CBB peepos?
“Wow, really getting right into the important questions, huh? You guys are lucky I’m not bound by any contract to keep my mouth shut. I think it’s pretty obvious though that Drip, Joe, and Bicerin are… the most likely candidates to kidnap someone. But you didn’t hear that from me!
From Treehouse though? Definitely Sweet Pea. Although, with how genuine and sweet he usually is, it was probably an accident. Emphasis on the probably…
As for the bakery, well you’re in luck, none of them would kidnap you… but don’t make Creampuff mad, he has a way of making people disappear from the city. At the same time, Cloud’s been kidnapped before, mostly because he fell asleep and drifted off and someone mistook him for their own Sans, hah!” - DW. C.
Do you still consider a fridge to be a Food Museum? Do your brothers still put empty bags of chips in there?
"AS A MATTER OF FACT, I DO!" Walking tall and proud, he pried open the door to the walk-in fridge that their bakery had installed into the back. "AND IT'S GOT EVEN MORE ROOM FOR MAGNIFICENT FOODS NOW! ALL OF THEM BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED OR TO BE DECORATED!" Inside were rows and rows of baked goods - some were cakes that needed to be chilled, other shelves were filled with pre-made dough that would be baked into bread soon, and one was completely dedicated to frostings.
"AS FOR THE CHIP BAGS... NO! OUR BAKERY DOES NOT PERMIT SUCH TRASH IN OUR GLORIOUS FOOD MUSEUM! After All, Empty Bags Don't Actually Have Any Food In Them... AND IF I FIND ANY, I'LL CHEW OUT THE SCOUNDREL WHO DARED TO PUT IT THERE!!!" He cried, stomping his foot with a finality.
Oo what are your favorite pranks that you have pulled drip and joe?
"burning down a bakery, heh."
"yup, burning down a bakery."
It doesn't matter who answered first or second - the point is that they burned down a bakery together. They both gave each other smug glances, grins growing sharper at the edges as they recalled the memory fondly. Oh, how such chaos caused so much joy... and smoke.
When did you first started working for the cloud bread bakery Cloud? Or were you the one to start the business in the first place? :o
Cloud let out a yawn as he was shaken awake by his brother. "oh- me? someone asked me a question? kayyy..." He sang out as he rubbed one of his eye sockets open and grinned. "heh, i always love this question. yeah, my bros and i started the business. loafy and i were the ones who came up with the idea for a bakery. it's why i'm named after the place - and everyone else sort of followed along with the theme."
Heya loaf what is your favorite prank that ya have pulled so far? :o
Loaf hummed, scratching his chin in thought as he considered his many, many options. "well, i've pulled a lot of pranks in my time. both in my old world, and the omega timeline, so it's pretty hard to say what my favorite is. but i think the one i still laugh about to this day is the first time i pranked cloud." His eye sockets began to crinkle at the edges as his semi-permanent smile grew twice as wide.
"it was when i finally had enough energy to walk around and i was out of the wheelchair that i started playing pranks on everyone. i did one to creampuff, then sprinkle - cloud was my last target cuz he was always the most easily startled." He started to giggle at his own story already. "so i made sure it was something he wouldn't be scared of." He had a shit-eating grin on his face. "i placed a 'stare at me to see stars' sign on him. i had to follow him to work so he wouldn't float off into the atmosphere every time someone made prolonged eye contact with him." He winked, leaning forward and placing his skull in one of his hands. "but i didn't lie -" He practically cackled. "his blush is galaxy, so you really could see stars if you stared at him long enough!"
pftt fair, huh fitting since combined its cloud loaf. Oh! did they visit places in their world or mostly just stuck in one place, oooo that's cool! I look forward to trying them when i come into the cafe :D
"You don't always have to travel the world to get a taste of other cultures, you know? Sometimes the shop across town has a little something new for you to find, and that's all you really need to inspire you. At least before you start scouring the internet for more.
Loaf was the one who found it in his world - the same way I said. He thought it was delicious, so when he came to the Omega Timeline and had time and resources to bake, he made it for his brothers." - D.W. C.
