What I hope to achieve
With my typeface experiments, I hope to be able to create a system where people who don’t know anything about cloud formations will be able to distinguish a certain type of clouds properties by looking at how the typeface has been manipulated. For example, a light, wispy typeface that has been manipulated at the top portion will be called cirrus because of the high, wispy cloud type that it is. A stratocumulus typeface will be ‘flat and lumpy’, so manipulated on the bottom portion mainly and feature a lumpy appearance, perhaps from a bulge type effect.
