Elder Scrolls AU Ep3 The Reach

The Duo’s path to Markarth was a treacherous one, they faced off against forsworn and bandits even. Their journey was nearing an end as the sun began to set. The Dim lights made many things hard to see, though it was just the beginning of the sunset. As they were crossing a bridge over a waterfall, Cloudious noticed a silhouette of a bird flying in their direction. It seemed very dark with the Sun’s light coming from behind it. But soon it began to seem far more strange than a normal bird. It was getting increasingly larger as it flew toward the cart. Cloudious soon began to worry about it.

Cloudious: Clair, I think we are about to have some problems

Cloudious stood up in the cart and pulled out his bow. Getting ready to shoot at the incoming figure. But before he could knock the arrow a loud thundering voice came from the shadowy figure. A wave of, what could only be described as magic, pushed the cart over. They were tripped and Cloudious’ bow fell out of his hand. He tried to pick it up but saw the figure fly over them. The Large scales and the grand wings were dark in the dimmed light. He knew what it was, so did Clairica. But neither expected to see them, sure Clairica had read about them in the Thalmor’s reports but even that couldn’t prepare anyone for this. The Gigantic beast was just scary with only its presence. He knew they couldn’t fight it. Let alone defeat it. He had to make a choice. Clairica, who was now fallen down and was under the cart or his bow. For Cloudious it was a clear and easy choice to make. He ran over to Clairica and grabbed the cart and pulled it up so she could get out. They then looked to see the Cart’s driver, sadly his head got smashed into the side of the bridge and he was dead. The dragon then flies around back to the bridge. Clearly, the two are stuck. Nowhere to go and nowhere to hide. The only option, jump off the bridge. They don’t speak to each other but they know. The two go near the edge of the bridge, almost about to jump off.

Suddenly the same type of magic that turned over the cart gets thrown at the dragon. The voice sounds like a Nord shouting. Suddenly from the same end of the bridge, the voice came from a fireball is shot. It hits the dragon and suddenly a Nord runs past Clair and Cloud. Two Iron swords in his hand the Nord charges the dragon. Seeing this Cloud runs back to his bow and grabs it readying an arrow to shoot at the dragon. A spell is cast once again and cloud looks back to see a short Breton woman with ready spells walking closer as well. Clair didn’t pull her dagger out can’t really get close to a Dragon. She redied her spells as well. Cloudious knocked his arrow as the Charging Nord came closer to the Dragon. Cloud’s arrow flew out of his bow and shot into the Dragon’s eye. The dragon stumbles as it tries to reorient itself. But the Nord had reached the beast. With a mighty swing with both swords, the dragons head was smacked down. The Nord used the downed head as a platform and jumped atop of the beast. Two spells were castes, A lightning bolt from the Breton and a fireball from Clair. The spells made the dragon jolt back. The Nord grappled on top of the Dragon stabbing it repeatedly like a lunatic. Cloud shot another arrow hitting the lower jaw. The dragon was being bombarded by spells, arrows and stabs. Until finally the Nord stabbed the dragons head, killing it.

The Nord stood atop of his slain foe, swords to the side with blood dripping from them. the dragon’s scales began to fade into ashen pieces as if it was burning. As it began to disappear faster a gust of force started swirling around the Nord. His body was engulfed in this energy and in the blink of an eye the Dragon was merely bones and the Nord still stood. The Nord jumped down and walked his way to the Duo.

Ordric: Yo I am sorry for the messy fight, and for being late to act

Ordric: I am Ordric but people call me Roy for some reason

Ordric: And that’s my Mage friend Julianna, or Julie

Cloudious: Awesome, nice to meet you

Clairica: Impressive fighting skills, and that power... Was it the Th’um?

Clairica: Are you a greybeard?

Ordric: No not exact-

Julianna: He is a dragon born, Dovahkiin.

Cloudious: OH! Awesome!!

Clairica: Very interesting

Clairica: Well since you two seem to know these places could you two help us get to Markarth. Don’t worry we aren’t enemies to you.

Julianna: Yeah sure! We’d love to
