Its so frustrating not being able to help everyone when we hit the streets. It seems that every time we visit the encampments, they grow and grow. More and more people and animals are living on the streets. It saddens me and it honestly breaks my heart. We didn't go to many spots today. I took the time to start a conversation with the people I met; specially the women. I gave my information to every single one of them to see if I can do my best to provide them with the resources they need. Even though I CAN'T house them, I can at least connect them with agencies. Every single woman I met, had a disturbing story of sexual abuse. The more I outreach, the more I see how much worse homelessness has gotten. I record what I can but when I'm not recording. I'm talking to people, asking questions and finding out who are they connected with? Who has outreach them from what agency/organization? If they have case managers, FSP workers or even simply connected to Mental Health or Substance use counseling. We seriously need more committed, compassionate individuals out here working with them. Today I gave my number out to many and hope to search for their case managers to see what the disconnect is all about. I'll advocate.... and I'll be nice 😑

ANIMAL SUPPORTERS!! Our "Christmas On The Streets" event is next Sunday, December 24th and we really really want to give toys, sweaters and any other animal items possible to these adorable homeless companions.
