So Riven and Stormy are twins, and their mother, Queneva, is a pretty popular celebrity; she raised the two only for the first two or so years of their lives. She mostly had them because, at the time, a lot of celebrities in Magix were having kids as a sorta trend (you can find lots of photos and old articles with baby Riven & Stormy, a lot of them are collectables for her fans).
Queneva didn't really want to raise children; she started leaving them more with the nearest relative(s) for prolonged periods of time (sometimes she'd leave both with the same relative, other times she'd separate them, parading one of them while the other stayed with a relative). In the end, she left them with their grandmother, who raised them. There's not much contact between the twins and Queneva; they only ever see her during family reunions or in passing on ads or movie trailers.
