I had a feeling Politea's death sounded familiar!

Bro I used to love that franchise for it's psychological horror writing, but BRO has it gone downhill bad. (Also I DEFINITELY missed some weird things because of the young age I saw it at too. Someone save Yuka from the creators JFC.)

What scarred you as a kid? Imma say that the girl getting thrown at the wall and exploding was one that stuck with me lmao.

The part where the witch girl (I don’t remember her name, she had blue hair and is apparently Sachiko’s niece) experiences the murder of the children through the eyes of oldest little girl. That fucked me up as a kid, the descriptions were diabolical. Also, the part where you’re being chased by the mom ghost. Those were my main trauma areas lol

Yuka’s the little sister, right?

I’d say the Politea ritual is part the Sachiko ritual where you have to piece the doll back together and part Resident Evil Village where you have to piece your baby together. Politea’s murder is reminiscent more of the dismemberment of the little girl in Silent Hill Homecoming and a few real life murder and attempted murder cases, so I drew from several sources. Rule of Rose is more a vibes thing with the nonsensical arenas, specifically the mermaid boss fight is what comes to mind when I think of it.

If Politea’s tongue is an item the Winx have to recover, yes, that’s Corpse Party showing, I’m not a liar. So far I’ve mainly accounted for limbs, torso, and head.

For a coward I have consumed a decent amount of horror games lol

There’s an arc around season 3 where Riven’s grandmother dies. His grandmother was a very abusive person and Riven’s always hated her, but it hits him in a way he didn’t really expect it to. He gets called in by a lawyer to review the will, which is already a hoopla. You’ve got Riven, his mother and her new family, and his uncle on a video call from prison all gathered around to hear who got what. Riven’s mother got cut out of the will - “for trying to steal my man” - and she’s hella pissed at her dead mama about it. Which just leaves everything split between Riven and his uncle. They bickered a bit before the uncle concedes that he’s not getting out of prison for another like… 30 years and by then he’ll be in his seventies and probably have to go into a residential situation anyways. So he lets Riven have the estate.

So Riven has come into possession of a severely hoarded up house, some broken down cars, and a boat with a hole in the bottom. His inheritance is quite literally a mountain of trash. But he’s like “cool, free house” and goes back to his childhood home for the first time in years to scope it out, clean up, decide if he wants to keep it for after her graduates or sell it. He invites some close friends and family to come see the property.

So it’s Riven, Timmy, their dads, their much older sister, Musa, and Tecna coming to this property and Riven’s just like “huh, more junk than I left it, that’s fine, y’all don’t step on any needles or cat piss” while everyone else is just horrified at the bio hazard this place is. It needs to be condemned, salvaging the house would be more work than it’s worth, but Riven wants to sort through everything and try to get it cleaned up because he’s convinced it’s really not that bad. James and Paul (adoptive dads) literally have to walk out of the house because they’re so furious that Riven had been taken out of their home and put back in this one as a kid when they wanted to adopt him. Meanwhile Timmy is left with the unenviable task of arguing with Riven that the ancient family pack of chicken ramen that the roaches have been crawling over is not edible even if it’s in the packaging and he’s not keeping five year old arby’s sauce packets from a fridge that has roaches inside.

Riven doesn’t understand why everyone’s so horrified because he grew up in the hoard so it’s kinda just his baseline. Musa ends up making the executive decision to call the rest of their friend group to come help clean up and support Riven, which initially upsets him because this is a vulnerable situation for him and even though he doesn’t think it’s a biohazard he is embarrassed at the state of the house - plus going through all the stuff if bringing back a lot of trauma and he’s been crying so he’s really not keen on their entire friend group seeing him cry, especially Helia.

During the clean out Riven finds his dead cousin’s guitar and asks Musa if it could be salvaged. Musa agrees to help repair it for him so he doesn’t have to lose something that belonged to the cousin he was close to as a kid. He also circles back to an argument he and Musa had a couple weeks ago about Riven not supporting Musa’s music by pointing out he had her debut idol cd way before he met her therefore he does like her music and wins. Musa is just utterly stunned and is like “well played”. Followed by “oh my god, Riven, I’ll buy you another cd and poster, you are not keeping it, it belongs to the roaches now”.

At the end, barely anything is salvaged and Riven agrees to just tear down the house and sell the land. He watches as it happens from the driveway while his adoptive family stand by him. He decides to bury one of his childhood toys he’d initially salvaged at the sight where the house stood then never comes back to the place again, cutting all contact with his birth family off for good.

Asking a Diaspro flavored ask for you, what couple dynamic does she have with Flora?

I currently have these guesses, Country Bumpkin and City Slicker, Sugar and Spice, Fairies with misleading titles.

I’d say her and Flora have a few different things going. My first explanation would be this meme

But I think it’s deeper than that. There definitely is an element of city girl/country girl. But I think a lot of the pronounced features in their dynamic comes from temperament.

Flora and Diaspro are both highly motivated, family oriented, extremely intelligent women who value independence but don’t necessarily know how to implement it. They both love to learn, they appreciate competence, and would rather spend a quiet evening together than go partying or on an adventure.

Flora is a chronic people pleaser though and her upbringing was focused on communal needs. Flora is extremely competent and can independently take care of herself and others, but she doesn’t really know how to say no. Flora wasn’t abused or anything, it’s just her temperament plus her background. Flora struggles to really make objections or argue even when she knows she’s right. She’s also not really good at making decisions that are more selfish.

Diaspro is kinda abrasive. She’s got a weird combination of noble confidence and a complete lack of confidence from being told she was too much her whole life. She’s extremely proud, especially of her intellect, and will gladly tell anyone off for any reason, but the moment you force her to do something independently like she says she wants she starts to panic. Because despite knowing she’s very smart, Diaspro has had it drilled into her that she’s incompetent and needs to be taken care of.

Flora was taught to be self sufficient at a young age whereas Diaspro had any attempt at self sufficiency ground out of her as a small child to keep her dependent on the men in her life.

Flora isn’t willing to make a scene often. Diaspro will not hesitate to and will push Flora to be assertive where it counts. Diaspro will hesitate to do things she’s capable of, Flora will not let her wuss out and pushes her out of her comfort zone, even if it means telling Diaspro’s well meaning family to zip it and let her fail.

They’re very affectionate though I think it flies under the radar because they’re more quiet. They’re not really as “loud” as the other couples can be if that makes sense. They tend to just quietly disappear together in the chaos then everyone else realizes they haven’t seen them in like two hours and worries they’re dead or something.

Bloomix Spell Weapon ideas:

Bloom: Radiating Estoc

Bloom summons forth a magical longsword made to pierce.

I imagined her doing some sort of fiery, corkscrew-tackle attack as her signature Bloomix spell when thinking of this, and wanted to share the idea lol. Maybe it's something she could do while on Peg or another mount too.

Musa: Flame's Duet

Musa summons forth a magical Dao and Shield.

This one was fun. With this I imagine Musa's spells focus on warcries and using music to keep everyone's spirits up, banging on her shield for a beat/tempo.

Aisha: Scalding Trident

Aisha summons forth a magical trident that burns with a magical core surrounded by Morphix.

It's a bit stereotypical because Aisha's so water focused in Bloomix, but sounds cool and it's a weapon she could use underwater lol.

I imagine for Bloomix her spells focus on water and it's healing/scalding properties under heat.

Tecna: Enkindling Crossbow

Tecna summona forth a magical crossbow to attack/trap her enemies.

Another stereotypical one, but it's Tecna and her only other option would probably be a gun lmao. I imagined her using her crossbow as mainly a way to trap things rather than shooting things.

Perhaps her magic would focus on how fire can be used in tactics/medicine?

Stella: Eclipse Daggers

Stella summon forth two ornately designed magical daggers, each themed after the sun and moon.

I image Stella as the black Mage type who doesn't like heavy weapons, plus her dual wielding them sounded cool.

I imagine her spells focus on the healing aspects of sunlight, and the calming aspects of the moonlight.

Flora: Cremation Bow

Flora summons a magical recurve bow to defend herself and her allies.

With this one I took into the fact that Flora typically is a backliner in battle and the fact you shared about Linphea being super nature focused and how they use nature to survive and stuff.

I also imaged Flora doing archer while on her war Guinea Pig you mentioned/ one of those giant ladybugs and it sounded cool af. (Idk if she knows archery or knows how to do horseback archery lol.)

I imagine her spells would focus on the life cycle of a forest, and how forest fires can actually help a forest when it's under control. (Totally stole that idea from Unicorn of War lol.)

Diaspro: Radiate Rapier

Diaspro summons forth a lavish rapier decorated with fiery gems.

I imagine her spells would focus on ironwork/the healing properties of minerals. (In a not anti-vax way.)

(Also I kinda imaged Diaspro and Stella would be super extra with summoning their weapons, like Mami from Madoka levels of flair.)

These are really awesome, I love the idea of everyone having a cool weapon!

Fun fact, Flora is actually trained to fight on cuy-back, but it’s with spears. She can also throw a spear ridiculously far and accurately. I could definitely see her learning archery too. Flora is quietly terrifying, she’s kinda a tank and that’s how she can keep getting beat on consequences free. Woman is BUILT. Short. But built. She’s 4’11 and does not struggle for a second to pick up her 5’4 girlfriend and haul her around like it’s nothing. Honestly Flora could probably pick up most of the cast at least for a moment because she grew up picking up farm animals and hauling massive bundles up and down mountains.

Stella and Diaspro would both be super extra about it, they’re divas together even if Diaspro would deny it. Bless Brandon, he’s gonna be hearing about Stella’s “cute little daggers” and the exact crystal composition of Diaspro’s rapier for the next few days.

I could see adding some elements akin to missiles or maybe a magic cybernetic enhancement like monowires (cyberpunk 2077) for Tecna. But I think a crossbow would also be pretty badass. Oooh, or maybe like a thermic lance from Fallout? Lots of possibilities.

I do love the idea of Bloom and Flora being cavalry in this scenario, that’d be badass!

Oh cute!! We need more ocs/main characters who are middle aged magical girls/boys!

Maybe Monica's natural magic strengths focuses on knowledge based magic? No pressure on what you want to do with her title and magic!!

She sounds like a sweetie, and I'm glad her story plans have her getting to be the girl/woman she wasn't allowed to as a kid.

So like, realistically not all fairies are going to have charmix/enchantix and like maybe only have magic Winx or some other form. But if she were to make progress, how far do you think she'd make it?

I think her strengths would be more knowledge and organizational applications. Monica wasn’t stoked when Stella showed her she could pack multiple lunches at once and toss in a load of laundry without getting off of the couch. She’d get that stuff down to a science so she could remotely put school bags together while shoving a child into a coat. She probably still delegates to the oldest three though still, because they can stand to stop standing around looking dopey and stir the grits or something lol

Monica will likely stay at the Charmix level provided none of her babies are in the line of fire in front of her. Monica’s not really trying to become a guardian fairy, she is content finishing her basic education and continuing her newfound career as the logistics manager at Red Fountain. It’s something she’s good at and she can have lunch with her husband every day, she likes that. It also compensates her well so she can finish raising her children and getting them through college without much fuss.

That being said, she could be earn Enchantix but it wouldn’t be an effort she was making towards that, it would be very much a “weird monster is about to smash child, remove child from danger”. I think she’d be so focused on just getting whoever was about to get zeroed to safety she’d not really notice what was going on until she either collapsed or the threat was gone. Monica already does go ham on some enemies in the story. If something gets close enough to her and her kids she’ll hack at it with whatever she’s got. In season one it was a cast iron skillet she improvised with then a shotgun until she unlocks her magic. And even then she’s sometimes like “the shotgun commands more respect”. So she’s not looking for combat training, she’d probably roll her eyes at Codatorta if he made her train, but she’ll meet the fight at the door if it comes her direction.

Flora's kids - 20 years after s7.

ok so I have a lottt of ocs for my next gen au. So I'm introducing them in different posts separated by who their parents are. I wanted to draw them but I don't have time because of Katara week so we're doing the best we can rn.

In my au Flora and Helia do indeed get married and they have 4 kids. I've always seen Flora and Helia and people who would be good parents and genuinely want kids. Considering we know nothing about Helia's parents my headcanon is he doesn't have a huge family. His only family is Saladin. (depending on which version you watched Saladin is either is uncle or his grandfather, I went with grandfather bc I grew up on the Rai and Nick versions). Which is why he'd want a big family growing up and I can't imagine Flora feeling differently bc of how much she loved her sister and her family.

In my au s7 is canon and the Winx were about 22 when it started and 23 when it ended. all of this takes place 20 years after the start of s7. 19 yrs after the show ended

The winx are 42. Flora and Helia got married 3 years after the show ended at 26

The Kids-

Rita- 14 yrs old (in my au Alfea allows fairies to be admitted as early as 14 instead of 16. I just made this change so I could keep them in Alfea longer lol) Rita is the oldest character I have for this au. She's the first one of the Winx kids I named and knew what I wanted from her. She has Helia's black hair (with a brownish tint) and Flora's brown skin. She's a fairy of nature like her mom. She's a lot like Flora and Helia in terms of personality except she's way more shy and quiet. Like both of them she's protective of her friends and those she cares about and also refuses to let herself be pushed over. But she values alone time way more than either of them and is more independent too. Being the oldest of 5 will make you like that lol. She's her daddy's daughter fr.

Reed- (boy) 12 yrs old any of my ocs younger than 14 won't be having a ton of focus or lore. They're just the younger siblings. i only have their names written down and I might do more with them later. But Reed wants to become a Specialist

Aspen- (boy) 10 yrs old He's a wizard like his grandfather.

Juniper 8 yrs old Juniper is a normal human like her brother and dad. She's such a mommas girl

If anyone has any ideas for any cultural names I'd really appreciate it. Either Latina (I've always headcanoned Lymphea as Brazilian) or Southeast Asia. (In my headcanon Helia and Saladin are Vietnamese)

Stormy has hearing loss (struggles with lower pitches) doesn’t wear her hearing aids though

Timmy has cochlear implants (fully deaf/communicates with sign language)

Darcy knows/learns sign language, so does Flora!

Brandon knows it because one of his sisters is deaf and their mother taught them all to use it for her

Stella knows the basics due to her mother (she’s partially deaf) also uses it but never learned anything more then that
