i definitely get this, like the absence of sexual desire in actual children is normal behaviour for their age group? it doesn’t have to be classified as ace at all… like my little sister told me she thought she might be ace, but she’s not really even hit puberty. it’s odd to me that people feel the need to categorise children and their romo/sexual desires (or lack thereof) at that age.. especially when it shouldn’t be of concern to literal adults either? its weird tbh!
yeah, exactly... it feels so weird and uncomfortable to see adults saying “oh this child character isn’t interested in romance at all! they’re ace!” they’re a child!
I felt a lot of pressure myself at ages fourteen, fifteen to label every aspect of my attraction and identify as ace and even at that age I think I was too young!
I feel like the problem comes with pinning asexuality along with being gay, bi, etc - all things you can realise very young in life because they have nothing to do with sexual desire?
