While most Nomu are grotesque, hulking bio-engineered monsters with exposed brains, mismatched limbs, and animalistic features, Kurogiri resembles an elegant, humanoid figure made of dark purple mist wearing a suit and tie.

He Is the Very First High-End Nomu
Canon explicitly states Kurogiri is the first High-End Nomu created by Kyudai Garaki (Chapter 370). High-End Nomu are a more advanced, intelligent class compared to the low/mid-tier Nomu seen early in the series (e.g., the U.S.J. Nomu, the winged Nomu in Hosu).
