tbh I feel the same way about it, if you haven't seen it already though someone took the video of the clouds that they posted later and synced the music to that so it might help a bit. It's not your fault that you have an interpretation of your own and it doesn't make you selfish for still holding true to that

yeah, watching the “clouds” video w/ variations playing in the background actually soothed my mind a bit. im glad they made a video with just the nice clouds without the overlay!

i think the video is what panicked me the most. the footage was super graphic and there were no warnings whatsoever which really ticked me off

youre not being selfish. music is art, and half of art is the interpretation. the song may have been originally written about 911, but you listened to it and found something in that song to help you cope with your destructive thoughts. as long as you don't push the song on people who are uncomfortable with it, there's no harm in taking a different meaning from the song than what was intended.

it’s just that my biggest fear now is that every time ill listen, as much as ill try to think about my interpretation and use it to cope, the true meaning will still be at the back of my head. it’s just makes me so uneasy thinking about it, and let’s just say the imagery in the video itself isnt the most comforting thing to think about either. ill try my best to set that aside and still enjoy the song but it’ll be quite difficult.
