cloudworld reset
So as longtime viewers of the channel (joke, that's a joke, this a blog I do not do YouTube) know, I am a part of a free to play all ages server named Cloudworld owned by a handful of minecraft youtubers- Painful, CoffeeFuelledGenius, and Fru.
Apparently Painful and Fru are both, like, idk some kind of big deal? I found the server via Coffee and could honestly care less but that's because I'm over the age of thirty, only got into minecraft a couple years ago, and only ever learn about various mcyters organically via 'oh hey that person was in so and so's video I should check them out.'
ANYWAY.
About nine months ago Cloudworld, which started as a Skyblock server, added a Survival server as well. I found I enjoyed survival a LOT more than Skyblock- yes there were more grindy aspects in regards to getting blocks and even my bought Aetherial rank was somewhat nerfed, but the ability to teleport immediately out of danger, have keep inventory on (again, paid rank because I am Adult with Adult Money Sometimes) and not need a villager setup for diamond armor and tools more than made it worth it.
One of the key perks of the survival world was that it 'would never reset', while there was a side by side resource world that did reset once a week making any block collection theoretically never ending.
So anyway we're resetting!

The reason conveyed was that resetting would allow us to update to the latest version, which means new copper blocks, sulphur cubes, and most importantly SHELVES.
It does mean that everyone's builds are getting nuked- even, sadly, Roo Acres, the picturesque trailer park in the midst of a beautiful valley.
I am both Annoyed and Excited at this reset. Annoyed because my brother in blocks what do you MEAN I need to get all that iron for an impulsesv sorter AGAIN?? but also excited because it means I can pick a spot for my base more mindfully. Roo Acres is great, don't get me wrong, but it IS between two ancient cities.
With shriekers high enough up in the caves that I accidentally spawned two wardens who haven't despawned yet because regular mobs keep spawning and aggroing them.
Which means sometimes when I'm in my basement base I get the <warden takes notice> alert, and just makes me feel oh so warm and fuzzy.
Anyway I find my playing experience to chill and fun, but I am also online when a large chunk of our admittedly younger playerbase is eating dinner or doing homework or sleeping. Nobody bothers me because I don't team, so it truely is for me just parallel play- I am in the world, and so is everyone else, and they are having Unstable Roleplay while I am building trailers.
So if you're interested in a public server Cloudworld's survival SMP will be reset on June 19th, with a fresh world- possibly a whole new seed, I'm not clear on that- and lots of possibilities.
It's important to note that Skyblock seems to be done, or is going through some kind of overhaul- we were warned that the current season was ending and that 'something new' would take its place. I don't know what that is but if it's PVP I'll just spend the rest of my life in the survival SMP.
