“I go missing and let’s just say people with big names will be on their trail. When that happens, kid, they’re gonna leave you to the wolves, or worse, take care of you themselves. You understand me?” There was a sense of urgency ringing through Clovis’s raspy voice now. “Kid, you’re digging your own grave.”

Danila could feel how his heart started to beat faster. The man wasn’t kidding, was he? He was going to be dead either way, Clovis or no Clovis. He wasn’t even Italian so he was on the lowest level of disposables for the mafia.

Wait, wait, what did Clovis say? He goes missing and big names will come after the mafia? Danila wasn’t sure what the other man was talking about. Did he know people scarier than the mafia?

Danila saw only one sensible option. He did a U-turn. Disappear before they have the chance to turn on him, that was his plan. “Do you want go back to the University?”

Frances’ worry for Clovis bled over onto the newcomer--the stranger, the detective; she didn’t even really care about the unnamed man standing before her, but Frances’ concern for Clovis and his whereabouts, whether he was okay or not, had made her wary of everyone within a mile-block radius.

Wary, concerned but unhelpful, like the human embodiment of a stormy grey cloud hanging over everyone’s head, Frances answers the detective with very low spirits, “I... I don’t know.”

Pocketing her hands and holding on to what little hope she had, Frances’ hazel eyes sweep the ground surrounding them, “I haven’t seen ‘im in’a long while myself.”

Closing her mouth and swallowing back more worrying that threatened to wag her tongue and spill onto the detective like it was his job to console her, Frances tries to get a grip on herself, “I know this place.. is.. important to him.”

The line of her mouth slopes askew like she’s disappointed, “..I thought.. at the very least---I thought I’d at least find ‘im here.”

He’s such a dick haha but also a loving dad and even though he’s so mean to Eric (srsly he’s just a kid, man, pull yourself together, Davy!! xD) he’s just great and I love his backstory and everything you put into him.Really, though, this is such a tough decision…💚

1. favourite place in your country?  - Ilocos is my favourite place in the country, aside from my house of course. It is a beautiful province in the northern part of the Philippines. 

2. do you prefer spending your holidays in your country or travel abroad? - I prefer spending my holidays where my boyfriend would be. So it could be both. Because I’d be either the Philippines or Sweden.

4. favourite dish specific for your country? - I like Beef Nilaga. It’s a kind of soup with lettuce, potato and tenderized chunks of beef. It’s really yummy!!!

8. do you get confused with other nationalities? if so, which ones and by whom? - I get confused with other nationalities like Japanese or Mexican. Mostly people outside Philippines and sometimes people who just met me. 

15. a saying, joke, or hermetic meme that only people from your country will get?   - a meme where there is a dumpling bun with “wswswsws” on it. HAHAHA

30. do you have people of different nationalities in your family? - My future in-laws because they are Swedish.

I tend not to look too hard at them when I run into them. I’m usually much more focused on not dying. I can tell you that I’ve never seen them sparkle.” The Guardians of the Veil would be furious at her for answering like this, but she didn’t answer to a Consilium anymore. And honestly, she found it easier than lying. Lying, someone might notice. Tell the truth, and people tended to think you were evading the question with stories, or…just crazy.

Mari forced herself not to wince at that. “I’m just going to stick around this year,” she answered. Her family didn’t want her back, she was sure. Besides, she didn’t have a car. She couldn’t drive anywhere. “I assume that’s your plan, though? Or is your family here?” She didn’t want to dwell on Corey right then. “That wine thing isn’t a bad idea. Scotch is better, though.” She didn’t have much of a taste for wine, but that was likely because she rarely got any of the good stuff.
