"greatest loves of all time are over now” - hot take

The greatest loves stories of all time, are over. Think crash and burn, the romanticized toxicity, the back-and-forth high school sweet hearts. Historically, those are the greatest loves of all time. BUT Taylor Swift is acknowledging this because her love/friend’s love (I heard the 1 may be from a friend’s perspective?) is no longer this toxic, big, showy public thing. ALSO, in “hoax” she says, “I left a part of me back in New York”... In Welcome to New York, she says “like any great love, it keeps you guessing”. I mean, could be a number of things but she’s definitely keeping us guessing with folklore and the coming and going of her fans around rep and lover could be a little bit like the “great love” idea. Also, she might be struggling with being in a healthy relationship. In Lover and Rep she touched on her doubts about the security of their love (see: The Archer, DWOHT, Cornelia Street, Delicate, False God, etc.) Also in The Lakes, she describes her love as calamitous. I don’t know if that means the relationship itself or the way that she gives her love is calamitous. Taylor is dedicated to this relationship but still struggles with doubts, basically. THAT’S ALL FOLKS
