I was thrown into a cell with a little more force than I would've liked.
I landed on my back, knocking the air out of my lungs. I stayed on the floor, thinking about the day's events.
It's not like I haven't been in this situation before, I steal, sometimes get caught, stay in the slammer for a day, they let me out, rinse and repeat.
Honestly, I don't mind staying in here, it's much safer than any other place.
“Back again, eh?” I heard a familiar voice. I lifted my head slightly to see a certain green ogre.
“You have got to be kidding me,” I muttered under my breath as I lay back down and ran my hand through my hair.
Shrek. I've run into this beast once or twice, He's friends with a good feline friend of mine.
In my opinion, I have always found him obnoxious, arrogant, and annoying.
I sat up and leaned on the wall, hw was in the neighboring cell.
After his divorce from the princess, it was not uncommon to see him in a bad condition, Pickles told me that he mostly got caught drunk on the street, banging on the doors of the castle.
I looked up from the floor and saw him staring at me. “You want something?”
He smirked and tilted his head, saying, “Most people get better at not getting caught. You, however..”
He looked away, laughing.
“At least I’m not an alcoholic,” I retorted.
“Don’t get defensive now, darling.”
This angered me, this stupid nickname he’s been calling me ever since we met.
“Does the princess even let you see your kids?”
I smirked as the smile left his face. His eyes narrowed at me, and he looked away.
Hours passed, and it was quiet with the occasional guard walking up and down. I learned from experience that if you listened to the guards and did not fight back, you'd be let out early.
I know half of these guards on a first-name basis
I looked at Shrek and noticed that he was uncomfortable
