Gugusse et l'Automate/Gugusse and the Automaton (1897): Once thought lost, this short film by Georges Méliès was finally released to the public in February 2026.

The film features a Pierrot automaton, and is actually the first known appearance of a robot in a cinematic film!

I'm so glad this was found.
