#CLRJames spent the last years of his life in a flat in #Brixton. The impact of his work as a #writer, #historian, #journalist, #cricket writer, #politicalactivist and #philosopher was very important, particularly in terms of #BlackHistory and the struggle for the rights of Black people worldwide. Born in #Trinidad came to Britain in 1932. He became a key figure in the fight for #Independence for British Colonies and for the self organising of Black people as a force for change. His book 'The Black Jacobins' became the definitive text on the #Haitia revolution. (at Brixton)
