FB Memory recently called up this personal anecdote I’d posted a few years back, and I had a good chuckle reading it again. So, I thot it’s worth a repost, if you hadn’t seen it before. We all could use a light-hearted moment in these dark times. 😂 MemoirsofPapaPat (Anecdote of the Day: Of Personal Space and Social Awareness) Was checking out some lovely place mats at a shop in Clementi Mall... they have arranged their stuff in the middle of the entrance such that there were only two narrow walkways (one on each side) through which to get in and out of the store. So I was standing at one of the paths looking at the place mats. A somewhat attractive-looking lady (with her son) appeared to want to exit the store where I was, so I backed up a little (till my butt was leaning on the merchandise in the middle of the entrance), and even tip-toe-ed to create more space to let them pass in front of me, wanting to continue looking at the items after they’d exited, right? She stopped in front of me, turned left, and started checking out merchandise around the place mats, either completely oblivious to, or it didn’t occur to her to care about the fact that I was behind, still tip-toe-ed, waiting for her to pass! Her back was literally just centimeters from me, so close I could smell the shampoo she used without even meaning to... Talk about being in a tight spot... I wonder what I must have looked like standing there, tip-toeing, with tummy tucked in, eyes rolled up looking at the ceiling... resigned to the fact that such people really do exist. 😳 I quietly inched out and exited the store. 😆 When Jesus tells us to “take the narrow gate”, I don’t think this was what He has in mind... 😂 #kuakua #cluelesspeople #memoirsofpapapat #unbelievable #likeseriously #WuNgiaBoh #tightspot #oneweek100people (at Clementi, Singapore) https://www.instagram.com/p/CcYa3XjPnN_/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
