The clump-forming perennial Rodgersia 'Bronze Peacock' needs a moisture retentive soil and shelter from cold drying winds. The plant produces large leaves divided into veined, glossy leaflets of reddish-bronze, maturing to dark green. In summer, tall sprays of bright pink flowers rise above the foliage.

So excited to this Meconopsis baileyi Himalayan Blue Poppy beginning to bare new shoots. From early to midsummer, branching bristly stems carry several shallow, bowl-shaped, flowers in shades of sky blue to pinkish-lavender well above the tufted foliage. Will it flower this year? Let’s stay tuned!
