Membrane is... questionable at best when it comes to ethics. He wanted to replace blood with coffee (?) and was- angry? Distraught? Not as understanding?? when he couldn’t do it. I HC that, much like the Life Foundation from Venom (or any respectable experimenting facility, really) he has done some incredibly morally gray, or even black, things to get where he’s at now as the world’s Man of Science.  What if Membrane wasn’t an asshole that favoured Gaz, focused on more than science, and gave his son the attention and belief Dib always deserved? Well, for one, his kids would be mentally and emotionally stable. Secondly, every cryptid on the planet would be absolutely fucked and Zim would be vivisected within the first few minutes of episode one. 👁️👄👁️

16: “I didn’t know where else to go.”

"Soooooooo..." Yaman leaned his back against the bars of Allister's cell. "Captured again, are we?"

The blond human didn't answer. Yaman turned his head slightly. He opened his mouth, but he couldn't find any words to fill it. They looked back and forth, and found no one within the vicinity.

"What are you doing here, Allister?" He asked quietly. "We both know you wouldn't get arrested unless you chose to."

They heard a shuffling from within the cell. Then footsteps. Then the scraping of Allister's hands against metal bars. He took a small, shaky breath and rested his forehead against one of the iron pillars.

"I-" Allister gulped. They could hear his fingers tightening around the black-ish grey bars. "-I didn't know where else to go."

Yaman pursed his lips. He reached his hand toward one of Allister's. He didn't dare touch it, he wanted to make sure he wasn't doing anything wrong. It was a breath of relief when Allister slid his cold fingers between the faerie's.

The pregnant pause after that was unbearable. It lasted a minute, maybe two. Yaman felt he had to say something. This was too awkward.

"...Your hands are cold."
