Clusterf#ck
Cluster was once the American hop. In the 1970s, up to 90% of American hop acreage was Cluster. The hop was born by a chance pollination of an English mother hop by a wild American male, back in the 18th century. Double Mountain chose to honor centuries of American hop farming with — what else? — beer.
Also known as Clusterf#ck, Double Mountain’s single hop Cluster IPA shows off just how interesting old, boring hops can be. Cluster has a delicate, bright flavor. Stone fruits and lemony citrus meets floral perfume followed by a bitter hoppy tang. Hoppy is truly the best description for it. Unlike some hops that taste like something else, Cluster tastes like hops. It tastes like beer. And that’s not a bad thing.
