How about Yandere! Cluster?
Geez anon, when I asked for a challenge you really went all the way. Still, interesting thought.
“There is no helping them. They’re too broken. The beings who used to be in those shards are so shattered they don’t know who they are or what’s happening around them. They just seek out other gems looking for the missing pieces of themselves, trying to make themselves whole.” Peridot explained as we drew ever closer to the cluster. You pitied Steven as dismay spread across his face. All those gems... the poor things.
When we finally drilled straight to the root of the problem, you were horrified. Millions of gem shards, all coalesced together. Peridot instantly started drilling into it, you were all running out of time. As she did, Steven cried out in pain, grabbing onto you for support, he began hyperventilating as his gem began to glow. When he made contact with you, you were both instantly drawn into a void, ghostly white faces surrounded the two of you, screaming in agony, the drill and Peridot were gone. Looking around in horror, the world slowly slipped away from your vision.
When you came to, you blinked in surprise, thankfully Steven was still with you, floating a little further away. Surrounding the two of your were millions of gem shards, emitting a dull light. When you listened, you could faintly hear them chanting.
“Want to... Need to... Must...”
“You want to what?” Steven called out.
“FORM.” The shards glowed intensely, as you and Steven covered your ears in discomfort.
“Have to... Want to... Need to... Must...”
“Wait! Maybe instead of forming... you could do something else?”
“Something... else? Need Form! Need whole...”
You watched in silence as Steven continued to reason with the cluster, knowing that if anyone could do this, it would be him.
“Oh, you’re shards! You just want to find the rest of your gem. But forming won’t help you find the rest of your gem. You’ll just destroy the earth! But, if you want to find other gems, there’s so many of you right here!”
“Something else? Other... gems...” As Steven nodded earnestly, you began to feel a tugging sensation on your form. As you opened your mouth to warn Steven, the pulling intensified, dragging you further into the cluster and farther from Steven. The light emitting from all of the shards grew brighter, as you tried your hardest to pull away from the tugging.
“Wait! Nononono! That’s not what I meant!” Steven attempted to swim towards you, flailing helplessly.
“Have them... want them... need them... Must!” The cluster screeched, making Steven and you curl up in agony.
“Want to stay... make them stay...”
You could no longer see Steven anymore, figuring he must have woken up. All you could hear were the whispering of the cluster, all of them excitedly telling you about themselves, while you struggled to snap out of it. Had you listened hard enough, you might have just heard Steven waking up in the drill, Peridot shaking him awake, frantically asking where you were, as the cluster started to shake, bubbling itself, trapping them out, and you in.
