I think they got Unfinished business wrong, being 11x05 instead of 1x15

I'm so sorry i missed two days of watching. I am now on s1ep15 unfinished business.
This is an awkward episode because they introduce the character of max ryan who is basically rossi but like isnt... and then we get those flashbacks to young rossi and gideon and there is no third guy....
Obviously they wrote in max ryan before they wrote out gideon and added rossi but like i just wish there was some continuity...
Or like at least if max appeared significantly older than rossi and gideon and you could assume maybe he was an early days mentor that then went on to other things
