Poor Cody, he ran himself ragged lately. They were in the process of going through their reports before sending them off. Not wanting to wake Cody up, Obi-Wan placed the datapads on the table as carefully as possible, then gently moved Cody further towards himself, making him lay down and rest his head in Obi-Wan's lap. While Cody took a well deserved nap, Obi-Wan continued reading through the report.

Obi-Wan has two hands. Cody has two hands. You see where this is going?

Oh I absolutely see where this is going and it shows that Cody is efficient at everything he does because anyone can hold (1) hand but holding both hands? Genius. Cody is truly the best.

“It’s alright, Commander. It’s my own fault that this happened.” Had she not run ahead, Padmé wouldn’t have been close enough to get hit by random debris that ended up grazing her face. They stung when Cody cleaned them, but Padmé gladly took this as her deserved punishment. All in all she had gotten very lucky that nothing worse happened. As she held still, Padmé studied Cody’s eyes and subconsciously compared them to Fett’s. She had only seen Jango Fett once but it was enough to know that their eyes were identical - of course they were. Except there was care and concern in Cody’s eyes, wheras Fett’s have been cold. They weren’t the same at all. “Thank you for looking after me.”

“... Well, that’s not very comforting.” Or maybe it was, to another CC. Maybe that was something that only clones of higher rankings, could understand. Or perhaps, it wasn’t something that required a higher level of independence thought to understand. Regardless of it, Rex stared at Cody for a short while, before he resumed drinking.

“Maybe it’s because I’m a CT. So, most tend to act as if we don’t even exist in the first place.” He took another short pause. “Isn’t that what you’re talking about, Cody? Because that’s actually, kinda of the norm for us.” He immediately followed it up by pouring another glass for his friend. “Don’t take it as an offense.”

Kiss?

Each time Obi-Wan said "Cody, I could kiss you!", he absolutely meant it. Just like now, when Obi-Wan cupped Cody's cheeks while beaming at him. He pulled the Commander close, kissed his lips, pulled away, shrugged, then kissed his lips again for good measure.
