“Remind me again why- Oof! I let you take the wheel!?”
“It’s not like you called dibs!”
These light-hearted remarks were rather unfitting when compared to the situation at hand. This was an invasion where all odds were against them. They only had so many weapons and people to spare. Not to mention fact that Ryan’s group seemed non-existent in the array of chaos. But as it was, it was better to go in thinking less about survival and more about how many one could kill with a single bullet.
With a sharp turn, the old bat was able to cause the jeep to skid just in front of an advancing group of Black Arms, giving T-Bone some good shots and a distraction for the aliens. And when she felt comfortable enough, she’d manage to pull out her pistol and let out a few rounds. It wouldn’t do as much damage as T-Bone’s shotgun which let out a several bullets with each shot, it was good to contribute either way.
For the first few moments of the fight, they had a decent start. But as numbers began to decline, the pressure was being put on them. So much to the point Rouge had to pull out and make some distance, only managing to pull up a few people into the jeep in their flee back to camp.
“This isn’t going to work! We either need more fire power or more people! You gotta convince Ryan to help us!” T-Bone cried out to Rouge over the screams and gun fire of battle, taking a few more shots before they were out of range.
The sudden drop in her voice had the large fox turning, looking panicked as he tried to spot the source of Rouge’s speechlessness. It didn’t take him long, noting the large group of people starting their own march towards the battle field.
“Oh Chaos, they’re actually going to help!” T-Bone couldn’t stop his exclaim of excitement, pumping his fist in the air. All while Rouge kept to herself, eying the figure she assumed to be Ryan leading his little collective.
The car drove straight past them, making a pit stop at the camp boundaries to drop off the wounded. Not long after it sped back into the battle field, taking the lead in hopes of reaching the remaining survivors in time. Though, before they actually reached the heart of the battle, a Black Arm had turned in time to catch the jeep approaching. In a quick movement it fired its weapon, landing a hit right into the large fox’s shoulder and sending him tumbling out of the vehicle.
