This week's Homeschool Science Class decided to take their lesson on circuits to the next level by discovering what happens when the positive and negative ends of a 9-Volt battery both make contact with fine steel wool. "Magnetize!" Homeschool Science Class was all about mastering magnetism today. After learning about how the north and south poles of a magnet repel and attract, the class took to the Rotary Amphitheater and walked around with hidden pieces of paper that either said NORTH or SOUTH. When Meredith yelled, "Magnetize!", everyone paired up and revealed their papers. We're learning about blubber in Homeschool Science Class today! First, we check how it feels when we put our hand and thermometer in a plastic bag and then stick it in ice water. We record both how it feels and the temperature reading. Second, we use our homemade blubber gloves (don't worry, it's just shortening!) and try again. Does the feeling change? What about the temperature?
