💭 - for BiBo, Solidus, the Boss, or all three? @cnebcss
Send 💭 for something my muse wants to say to yours, but won’t.
solidus.
I think I could have helped you if we'd met sooner. You weren't like Liquid, and I didn't hate you. I could have been there for you if I'd had the chance. It might've been nice to have a brother.
the boss.
What the Hell did you do to him, for him to turn out like that? Everyone says you were a hero, but from what I can tell, you spent your whole life covering for the government's mistakes, until they killed you. And what you left behind nearly destroyed the world. When people say I'm like you, it sends a chill down my spine.
big boss.
It hurts that you might've actually loved me if I wasn't yours. I keep meeting people who say you saved them, and raised them, that you were the father they never had. What did I ever do to you for you to hate me the way you did? Was I less deserving of love than them? I don't think it's anything romantic like you hating the parts of yourself you saw in me. I don't know what it was. But I'm angry with you, and I have nowhere to put that anger that won't hurt somebody else, so I'm going to hold it inside me until I die young because of your genes. You're going to kill me in the end.
🐉+ Solidus, baybeee. Big Boss if you want, too. @cnebcss
rubbing my hands devilishly for this one.. @cnebcss
Gaismagorm
So, there's actually a few reasons why I associate this one with Solidus.
To give a little bit of extra context about this guy: in MH lore (or I guess its ecology), it has a pretty interesting feeding cycle in which it relies almost entirely on another parasitic organism, the Qurio, for sustenance. It remains underground while sending out swarms of Qurio, which feed off the life-force of whatever monsters live in the region before returning to their host Gaismagorm to share their energy and thus keep it fed.
Interestingly, another monster exists that can hijack this symbiotic relationship, Malzeno. It can commandeer Qurio to control them for its own purposes, though this comes with the cost of becoming incredibly aggressive due to the influence and relentless hunger of the Qurio it now hosts.
Design-wise Gaismagorm is believed to be based off the concepts of demons and the Devil, which also ties into its relationship with Malzeno and the Qurio in a really interesting way since Malzeno's design is also based off classical gothic vampires; specifically with the legend of Count Dracula, and how he gained his powers through deals with the devil.
(Obviously I am associating Malzeno with Vamp because like... come on it's literally a vampire dragon.)
Aside from that there's also the fact that Solidus was part of the Army of the Devil which I think kinda fits with Gaismagorm its relationship with the Qurio.
Also PLEASE look at the plush for this thing. his little leggies.........................
anyways, other potential monsters I think would fit Solidus;
Dreadking Rathalos
Honestly I can see all of the Snakes getting a Rathalos/Rathian variant because they're basically the face(s) of the franchise, and Rathalos is also basically the mascot/flagship monster for the Monster Hunter franchise lol
(If you wanna get into specifics; Solid would get Azure Rathalos, Liquid would get Gold Rathian, BB would probably either get a regular or Zenith Rathalos and Venom would get Dreadqueen Rathian. Though Guardian Rathalos would also be a thematic fit for the clones tbh)
Scorned Magnamalo
I mostly picked this one just for the Vibes of that broken horn/missing eye but honestly this little blurb from the wiki page kinda makes me think of Solidus 😭
A Scorned Magnamalo is said to come to be when a male Magnamalo has its horns broken for any reason, rendering it undesirable for females and unable to mate for the rest of its life. As a result, the Magnamalo forgoes mating and focuses entirely on hunting prey, recklessly facing and devouring increasingly dangerous foes to accumulate power and bolster its Hellfire. If the Magnamalo survives for long enough, it can undergo gradual morphological changes that turn it into a Scorned Magnamalo.
and covering BB as a bonus...
Dalamadur
Assuming this is all part of some kind of Pokemon/MH Stories-esque AU where the characters just kinda have these monsters as companions, I think BB would actually come into possession of (his) Dalamadur from the Boss, specifically after he's forced to kill her as part of Operation Snake Eater. And I think it fits them both as a symbolic creature, kind of like with Solidus and Gaismagorm. (And also because it's BIG SNEK!!!!!1)
I kind of see it as a symbol of just how much of an impact one's presence and influence can have on the world around them, much like the power BB would've come to possess in MSF and Zanzibarland. A Dalamadur's presence can easily reshape entire ecosystems just from it passing by, being so large that it can destroy natural formations and carve up mountains from the simple act of moving, a force of nature incarnate.
And in a way you could see the Boss and BB in a similar light; to BB she was the most important person in his life, the one person who taught him everything she knew and shaped him into the soldier he is now. And BB, in turn, became a similar figure in the eyes of the soldiers he would've led; a leader, a mentor, someone with enough power and authority to mold them in preparation for a life of war.
Idk it's kind of a stretch but again this is more of a Symbolic thing than a more literal representation.
Gogmazios
IM GOGGING OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So this guy is interesting. Covers itself in oil, apparently capable of just disappearing without a trace, raids armories to eat their gunpowder stores...
Did I also mention that sometimes it just straight-up glues weapons to itself sometimes, and in Wilds IT HAS A FUCKING RAILGUN YOU CAN SHOOT IT WITH?
So anyways. I chose Gog for similar reasons w/ Gaismagorm in that it has some more literal associations with BB and his history. Mainly with his accumulation of weapons and power in Zanzibarland, the whole thing with OILIX, and to an extent, the concept of Metal Gear as a weapon. In-universe it's even referred to as "the Specter of War" which is also very, very fitting imo.
(The tie to Metal Gears is mostly due to, again, the literal fucking railgun superglued to its back, which is also A BIG FUCKING DEAL in MH lore because the most advanced weapons tech "modern" people have are like. Big guns. And gun-lances. Though you could also make that same connection with the Guardian monsters and Zoh Shia imo.)
@cnebcss : “Listen, could you maybe point that gun somewhere else?” from Big Boss for Ocelot!
𝐎𝐇, 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐔𝐒? It was so funny that he forgot to laugh. Adam's gaze remained locked on the other man, breath slow and steady as he inhaled — exhaled. One revolver stayed pointed at him, the other one at his side, spinning idly as if he were waiting for the perfect moment to point them both at him. Where did he get off, really? Adam had his own role to play; and the longer he kept the other man in the dark about it, the better.
𝐋𝐈𝐏𝐒 𝐏𝐔𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐎 𝐀 𝐒𝐌𝐈𝐑𝐊, head tilts ever so slightly. Spurs click against the ground lightly as he circles the other man like a predator who finally caught his prey. Gaze scans John carefully, waiting for him to make some sort of move so he could react accordingly. Another spin of the second revolver before it moves to point at John as well, the blonde having moved full circle, once again in front of him.
“If I didn't have them pointed at you, then I wouldn't be doing my job.”
"how do you feel about gun rights?" @cnebcss from Solidus lmao
In his defense, he hasn't slept in two days. Monitoring the RAY fleet's movements at this stage is critical. One missed alteration to the pattern and nuclear winter could be upon them. Snake needed to be ready to go the instant something unusual happened. Which it hadn't, for forty-eight hours. When Otacon got home, they would switch shifts, but he'd been caught up getting back into the country unnoticed, leaving Snake with George -- and he sure as shit wasn't leaving him in charge of keeping watch.
So it's with an abnormally effervescent air that Snake replies, "Guns don't have rights, idiot, they're guns."
He's not unfamiliar with electrocution. He's gotten a taste of it before; once as part of his training under FOXHOUND to resist interrogation techniques, and again when he had to deal with the electrified floors in Outer Heaven. Insightful, but not very pleasant whatsoever.
Unfortunately, past experience doesn't do much to actually prevent him from getting shocked senseless while being strapped to a machine designed to do exactly that.
'Forgot' my ass, Snake thinks sarcastically to himself.
He's left heaving for air in the apparatus holding him upright, steam curling up from where the sweat's been boiled off his shaking form. He doesn't immediately respond to Ocelot's taunting, only leering up at him when he mentions the rookie.
Meryl...
He knows he can't submit, as much the agony of lightning in his veins tempts him. He wouldn't be able to live with himself if he gave up her life in exchange for promised relief.
He still has a mission to complete, after all.
"I'm not so sure cruel and unusual punishment is an accurate method of seeing what kind of man I am," Snake growls at Ocelot. He's pretty sure his captor's doing this for more than just information.
"It's a great opportunity for espionage!" @cnebcss (BB is very excited about teaching these skills)
"Espionage? We can't-- we can't spy on the government! They're our bosses! They-- fund us and whatever-- hey, Boss!" He makes sure to keep his voice quiet, even as he complains, but he can't stop his pitch from spiking at the end as he watches his mentor sidle down a hall they'e definitely not allowed in. "Boss-- don't make me-- Boss!" Of course he goes after him. Of course he does. What else is he going to do?
"he's only mostly dead." @cnebcss George re : Big Boss, probably.
"You know that's disgusting, right?" He really didn't need to see this. He'd gotten the gist at Shadow Moses. The government wouldn't have spent all that time and money and risked nuclear war for something that didn't exist. Ergo, Big Boss was on ice somewhere. He had felt no desire to know where then, and feels no satisfaction knowing now. It's not even really a corpse -- just a melty... gooey... mess. A mess with cells the government are obsessed with. A mess of cells they poked and prodded to make him ( and Liquid, but genuinely, who gives a shit about Liquid ). And, now, George. He wonders if they can just keep going, plumbing the depths of that gelatinous torso and popping out little Big Bosses whenever they feel like it. The thought makes him want to throw the thing in an incinerator. He turns away. "I'm out of here."
