i just thought of beakley taking care of tala/jade and goldie walking in on it—or seeing it and then spying on beakley and being kind of jealous that she's doing such a good job. then beakley reveals she's known goldie was watching the whole time and tells her she's doing better at it than she thinks she is, followed by tala being super excited to see her mom and immediately jumping towards goldie

putting this here so i don't forget. so i have this mini canon or whatever it's called in fan fic terms i forgot, that started out as an AU from the outdated version of cnot3/scraya. basically it's a swapped AU of cnot3!scrooge and regular canon dt17!scrooge during the LGD episode with all those inter-dimensional shenanigans. so cnot3!scrooge is now stuck in a world where maya doesn't exist and only he knows them, and dt17!scrooge is stuck in a world where maya does but he doesn't know them. like i said, originally it was just a fun AU to mess around with for the angst but eventually it thought it would be kinda fun to incorporate it into the bigger picture lore of cnot3. so it's a "mini canon" or whatever you call a certain time slice from lore that is optional but not necessarily an AU since it can still fit into the original story.

anyway, that long preamble said. what if dt17!maya actually does exist but they're like sort of a negaverse version of maya and they work as a FOWL agent. instead of them "not existing" in dt17 canon like cnot3!scrooge misthought, they also got caught up in the time shenanigans and got stuck in the cnot3verse. with no way to return without an inter-dimensional machine of their own, bradford recruits them into FOWL. (i don't think they would really wanna work for him or anyone, but they're cooperating for their own interests of getting back home.) note: cnot3!maya is still in their own universe, so there's two versions of them existing in the same universe.

(extra stuff: i think it'd be funny that cnot3!scrooge doesn't see any signs of dt17!maya existing just because they're very good at lurking in the shadows. and also just cz they won't exist in the same circles ever. they're not negaverse in a sense that they're not the complete antithesis of maya but they're meant to be the evil™️version.)
