putting this here so i don't forget. so i have this mini canon or whatever it's called in fan fic terms i forgot, that started out as an AU from the outdated version of cnot3/scraya. basically it's a swapped AU of cnot3!scrooge and regular canon dt17!scrooge during the LGD episode with all those inter-dimensional shenanigans. so cnot3!scrooge is now stuck in a world where maya doesn't exist and only he knows them, and dt17!scrooge is stuck in a world where maya does but he doesn't know them. like i said, originally it was just a fun AU to mess around with for the angst but eventually it thought it would be kinda fun to incorporate it into the bigger picture lore of cnot3. so it's a "mini canon" or whatever you call a certain time slice from lore that is optional but not necessarily an AU since it can still fit into the original story.

anyway, that long preamble said. what if dt17!maya actually does exist but they're like sort of a negaverse version of maya and they work as a FOWL agent. instead of them "not existing" in dt17 canon like cnot3!scrooge misthought, they also got caught up in the time shenanigans and got stuck in the cnot3verse. with no way to return without an inter-dimensional machine of their own, bradford recruits them into FOWL. (i don't think they would really wanna work for him or anyone, but they're cooperating for their own interests of getting back home.) note: cnot3!maya is still in their own universe, so there's two versions of them existing in the same universe.

(extra stuff: i think it'd be funny that cnot3!scrooge doesn't see any signs of dt17!maya existing just because they're very good at lurking in the shadows. and also just cz they won't exist in the same circles ever. they're not negaverse in a sense that they're not the complete antithesis of maya but they're meant to be the evil™️version.)

can't find that "meet ugly w/fo" post but just a reminder that when maya first met goldie they thought she broke into the art gallery (she did) and was going to steal their painting (she wasn't) and then used the (very empty) threat of calling the cops on her when they wanted to tag along but she won't let them. and also used the very weak reasoning of "well you found the last piece of the map because of my painting (FALSE) so i am entitled to the mystery that the map entails (ALSO FALSE)". they were so bored and goldie had to deal with that

and the first time maya met scrooge he shittalked their painting to their face. he didn't know it was THEIR painting until he was finished ranting about it so it wasn't on purpose, but he still Did That. and then immediately left without saying anything because he got embarrassed

sometimes i wish i could just exorcise the stuff in my mind into words because i'll want to post something like "THE PARALLELS IN POINT A AND POINT B IN X SHIP'S STORY" "THE TRAGEDY OF Y SAYING THIS AND FHAT BUT SCENARIO C GOES AGAINST THAT VERY THING" etc and then i realize nobody would fucking know what i'm talking about

#this is why i share stuff it's so lonely sometimes #anyway i was thinking about maya and scrооge during their first proper meeting vs during whenever they finally confront the revelation that #they both know goldie and have. Different but also similar relationships with her #and the second one is about. when my s/i and sаyιd share a kiss on the beach (they are not dating) and my s/i makes him promise they'll get #off the island together because they're scared for him (they always are) and it is more of making him promise he won't die basically and #holding him to his own word but then later it turns out sаyιd is the one that leaves them behind (not on purpose but it happens because #they were on the freighter and they didn't have time to get onto the chopper and it blows up with them on it along with jin)#and then sаyιd is later forced to lie about not even knowing them and he can't even utter their name because how would he know they exist #if they supposedly died during the initial crash?#anyway!#op #💘.txt #scraya #cnot3 #sayidnaya

originally one of the ideas i had for maya and scrooge's pre-canon relationship was to do a 5+1 times thing but instead of anything cute or substantial they would always be two weirdos who would bump into each other in a funny but very socially painful situation. then they bond a little but also ultimately part ways hoping they would forget about it/pretend it never happened. but they just keep repeating that cycle

i still think that idea is funny. but i don't know if i want to keep it because the allure of them having One Substantial Epic Fail interaction with each other, making a negative impact on each others' lives, and then never cross each others' paths for ten years until launchpad decides to recommend maya to scrooge when the latter was looking for painters to commission is very strong and very funny.

and i think goldie and maya "keeping in touch" (phrase used loosely bc it's Goldie) for ten years vs scrooge and maya who never wanted to meet each other again and wanted to pretend that never happened for ten years is a very funny contrast

#the epic fail event was not their first meeting at the art gallery. but it was their very extended second time meeting #i want to share it so bad. i kind of stole it from LOST but also i've already had vague ideas abt it LOST just inspired me so much that #everything clicked into place like the puzzle was complete #the epic fail event has smth to do with The Spear Of Selene Incident so you know it's particularly disastrous #op #💘.txt #scraya #cnot3
