When I asked this wolf how she feels about the economic benefits of the clear cuts in her forest, she rolled her eyes, shrugged her shoulder and slowly walked away. It’s weird to sit in a quiet forest far away from any infrastructure or civilization only to hear the distant noise of a chainsaw creating yet another scar in the landscape and a deep wound in the mycelium knowledge network of the rainforest. It took less than 200 years to cut down almost every old growth tree in British Columbia which were replaced with inferior second and third growth and came with a major loss in bio diversity. In Canada and BC we don’t have the constitutional right to a healthy environment - there is no law that protects us and that should be a concern to everyone! We must find more sustainable solutions because nature is what makes BC supernatural. We owe it to the First Nations who have taken care of the land and water for millennia and to the wild nations that we share the land and water with. #wolves #coastalwolves #wolf #firstnations #pnw #wildlifephotography #wildlife #nature #intertidal #wolfesofinstagram #explorebc #explorecanada #environment #environmentaljustice @seaforthexpeditions @sealegacy @pacificwild @raincoastconservation #savebcwolves (at Supernatural British Columbia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CCt9P8hhx22/?igshid=uhf45vh17o0
