well, for them to fall that fast i’d assume you’d just have a large amount of force pushing the bombs down. because things don’t really fall in space so much as they /move/. the only thing that doesn’t actually make sense is their acceleration – because things don’t accelerate (in a vacuum like space) unless they have some sort of way to /continuously/ propel them forwards
BUT ANYWAY. we can assume that maybe the bombs have some sort of internal mechanism propelling them forwards jOB DONE.

Just wanna add in something, it is said in the visual dictionary that each of the small bombs operates on magnetics - not only are the bombs lowered to push them down, there’s magnetics built in to make sure they are pulled towards the target
THERE’S MAGNETS YOU GUYS. guess that could explain the faster acceleration. that’s great, friend, thanks for sharing!!
@cobaltsister | “Are you okay?”
there are several easy answers to a question like that. all of them are lies. ‘ yeah ‘ and ‘ sure ‘ and ‘ of course ‘ and ‘ why do you ask? ‘ and not a single one comes to the forefront of finn’s mind. he doesn’t know the woman before him, so one of those things should come first. she can’t mean it, can’t want to know, really. it’s because he’s stopped, lingering in the hall captured by sound and memory.
he blinks, and means to figure out one of those things to say, those things that will send her on her way. instead, what comes out is ❛ not really ❜ on the edge of a confused laugh, because for a moment he had been behind the helmet again, and synchronized footfalls had cut through his defences and send fear spiralling through his body.
the resistance is welcome ; as welcoming as they can be for an ex-stormtrooper. granted, finn put himself in good standing by saving poe, but there is suspicion, still. confusion. it doesn’t help that his own mind is prone to betray him if he’s not careful. a steady, too-deep breath is pulled in, and he breaths out slowly, finally focussing on the woman before him. ❛ sorry -- am i in your way? ❜

d'qar was the first planet the tico sisters ever went to outside of home. it was the first time they saw animals and greenery that wasn't grown in bunkers
and now it's gone :')
hey cos? i’m going to scream right in your face

HALCYON EYE OF THE STORM HUSH blankets the medbay in a surreal quiet. it’s no true silence, nothing like the labryrinthine corridors of star destroyers and the vast abyssal hollowness of the first order. a lingering pavlovian comfort, the remnants of sense memory embedded deep in his subconscious, finds sanctuary in the soft symphony of medical equipment and bacta tank technology. amidst war, defection, SOLDIER BECOME TRAITOR, the only time he’s been able to simply slow, catch his breath, and let down his guard is here, under the guise of fatality. here, on the other side of the medbay bed though, the sudden light-surge of icu monitors is an inimitable relief.
❛ hey, easy. if you move too much you’ll get tangled up in all the tubes. which, trust me, not something you want to do after recovering from life-threatening injuries. ❜ a smile unfurls, open and earnest even as his hand hovers knowingly over the side of the bacta suit. he remembers waking up, disoriented, confused, his old stormtrooper serial number rising to his lips before he could swallow it back.
❛ it’s 3:47PM. you’re in the medbay of the raddus. it’s been just over twenty-two hours since you completely destroyed the first order’s dreadnought and saved the entire resistance. ❜

@cobaltsister replied to your post:
paige vc: you need to believe in yourself! but it’s ok, i believe in you enough for both of us and maybe one day you’ll see you for who you are
It’s different from the words Rey and Poe tell him almost on a daily basis. Finn doesn’t want to say the weight or meaning of their sentiments are cheapened in anyway because they’ve been through something together that no one else could ever understand, and honestly their opinion of him was all he needed in the long run.
But he’d be lying if he said that the distrust he sometimes sees from the others on base didn’t bother him. It was weird, because he understood where they were coming from; he deserted the First Order—what’s to say he wouldn’t also turn on the Resistance, too? He understood, but…he didn’t escape one hostile environment only to end up in another one. That kind of disbelief tore at the soul, little by little, until he believed in that image of himself, no matter how much he tried to tell himself otherwise.
So to hear someone like Paige, whose family was personally victimized by the First Order and who should probably hate him more than anyone that he’s a hero, that he’s not a coward for running away? It would bring tears to his eyes, and break down the falsehood that he and most everyone else has about himself and he finally could see what Rey and Poe and Paige has seen in him all along.
