Week 8 Lyric. This time the lyric was twisted to make the author appear as some sort of cocaine addict. Conceptually, this is probably my best piece yet. First off, the initial text is very plain and represents what the author might appear like on the outside, whereas when you get to the final line the text resembles something being drawn out of cocaine on the glass, representing how the author feels when high. This text is also much brighter and dominates the image. Text size is also used to emphasize the authors feelings. The Idea of two opposite halves is a big theme, with everything in the image being mirrored, and the mirror side of the written text being in dark red, to again represent that the hidden side is dangerous (and also to match my other assignments now that I’m thinking about branding them a bit). I thought adding the authors name on the card was a nice touch, as it makes the card seem like a business card and is reminiscent of the business card scenes in the film American Psycho. Biggest challenge here was trying to make the mirroring make sense, which I feel I accomplished with the card but didn’t understand how to match it directionally with the text
