The Cocktail Conundrum for Eating Well! Thanks to Aja Malia Coon and Caitlin Haught Brown for making this come to life!
The Fresh Start Beer Cocktail
I use 42 Below Vodka as my base for this cocktail and then, as the name suggests, I freshen it up a bit. To do so, I add lemon juice and Jeppson's Malort. At this point the cocktail is a bright, sour, and bitter mess, so I add my home made spiced honey syrup .(Think, Star of Anise, Clove, Cinnamon, and Coriander) and fig preserve to balance it out. I add a quarter ounce of Bepi Tosolini Amaro to add some character and then finish with 4 ounces of Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat Beer.
Add a couple of my home made brandied cranberries, and In my humble opinion, you have great fall cocktail to sip on.

1 cup Roasted/ and reduced stocked Beets
1.5 oz Tequila Resposado
.5 oz Orange Liqueur
1. oz egg white
.75 oz Lemon Juice
.5 to .75 oz tarragon syrup

1- If you don’t shake hard enough, you won’t macerate the beet enough and you won’t get a nice froth.
2- When you double strain, you might consider using a bar spoon to help straining process.
