Hookah smoking
Guess what? Natural light coals are the way to go when enjoying a hookah session.

Hookah Coals and your Health
Yes I know, sometimes we get lazy with the Hookah and just want to get it started quickly and easily. That's why there's "Quick Light" Hookah coals. No need for an oven, hot plate, or fire pit. One can just spark it up with a lighter and in a minute or two, it's ready to go for the smoking session.
As user friendly as these coals are, you might want to think twice about going with the easy route. Studies have shown that the amount of carbon monoxide inhaled during a Hookah session can depend on the coals used. "Quick Light" coals contain gasoline and other chemicals to speed up the coal burning process. These chemicals will be inhaled by the smoker, and can increase the risk for lung cancer.
In my opinion, it is always better to go with a more natural type of coal, such as the Coco Nara Coconut Shell Charcoal. They make take longer to get going, but the cleaner smoke is worth it in the long run. Also, they don't add that gasoline flavor to the shisha like some low quality Quick Light coals can.
