Man I know this feeling!!! I wish my uni pushed me further in so many areas. Like, I’m paying all this money for a degree and yet I end up doing most of my learning ON MY OWN outside of class??? SIGH.

Honestly, Honestly, they don’t teach it here either? Or at least not for illustration. For painting classes, yes. I feel like it’s something a lot of schools don’t have for w/e reason :/ 

So, we all have the same problem? jfc I hoped it would be at least a bit different somewhere else (or that it would be a german problem because here only art exists (which has no real rules) but not good ol’ handcrafted illustration)

I mean my main problem isn’t that we have to do the majority of the learning outside of class but more that we get no direction whatsoever. Not even a book rec! In our main class for illustration the whole class consists of the docent showing up, getting coffe and disappearing with older semesters for the rest of the class. But critcism for the finished work we get plenty. At this point I’m just sad my parents are throwing money at people who told the students (including me) to the face that they don’t care for them or their education.
