when i first got into cooking, i think one of the first few things that i attempted to make was french toast. i would make french toast all the time and make my brother eat them, failed batches and all (sorry bro). but now, one of his favorite things that i make is my stuffed french toast... which i guess means i perfected my recipe! here’s how to do it: • • batter: 2 large eggs ~3/4 cup milk (i use whole milk for my brother) 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp vanilla extract pinch of salt 1 T maple syrup or honey - whisk all in a shallow bowl until combined and cook french toast as normal👉🏽 dip your toast in the batter until the batter saturates the bread but don’t let it get soggy and fall apart!! to ensure this, don’t use a soft bread. use day-old/somewhat stale bread like sourdough or brioche. today i used an old loaf of @silverhillsbakery bread. - cook on medium/med-low in a cast-iron or ceramic skillet with coconut oil. once done, layer with banana, chopped hazelnuts, and @rigoniasiagousa dark chocolate hazelnut spread. if you don’t make this for yourself, make it for someone special as a treat 😉. they’ll start requesting it every week. aka you’re welcome lil bro 🙄 posted on Instagram - https://ift.tt/2LSvdSw
