Ghost who has been a Knight since he left his father's clutches. practically drafted when the Kingdom goes into war, and was good enough to stay. He's known as one of the best knights. he's efficient and quick with his sword, bloody accurate with a bow, and stern, yet funny enough to be stuck training the newbies.
Soap, fresh faced with a big family waving him off. Ghost's newest knight. He hates the damn kid. thinks he's too soft. has never seen a proper brawl. claims the only war the boys been through was the food fights he had with his many siblings.
Sure, maybe THE ghost is a bit envious of the boys proper family and his clearly "I was loved as a boy" personality, but in reality he's just looking out for the boy! A sweet ma doesn't make for a steel man. and that's what the knights are.
You can't blame ghost for feeling this way. the closest thing he had to a decent pa was the king. scooped him from that old butcher shop and replaced his hatchet with a sword. he couldn't possibly let some pretty boy endanger his king.
He's so mean to Johnny, pushing him harder, being crueler. to be fair, the boy manages to keep up. but it only makes Ghost try harder to break him.
