Simon was your sworn protector. Sworn to serve the royal family, to die for you should he need to. You never expected anything more, but after an assassination attempt, he’s been even more devoted to you. You’re not sure when the line of devotion for duty and devotion for love was crossed.

A/N: Whoooo!! This was really fun to write! I literally cooked this up in just a few hours. Knight!Simon has been on my mind for a while so I knew I had to write him. This is just a little intro so expect much more of this soon! I'm going to focus more on Simon and reader and less of the Makarov stuff so lots of fluff and hurt/comfort coming your way!
Mist rolled over the fields like a thick, suffocating blanket. Your chambers had been freezing all night, the fire doing nothing to warm the freezing shake of your body. The winter had only started, but it had already proved itself to be one of the coldest yet. It insisted upon tormenting you, something you took quite personally. It felt as though the Gods themselves had sent the frost and frigid nights to torture you and you alone. It was penance. Plain and simple, though you did not know what for.
Servants had kept the fire going all throughout the night, but their efforts were utterly fruitless. You had always hated winter. You considered it a cruel type of hell residing on earth. In your most recent years you began to despise it with such a passion that you hardly thought of anything else as you laid in front of the hearth draped in thick layers of blankets and furs.
Each day brought dozens of farmers and city folk complaining to your family of the strife the cold months had brought to them. It only proved to anger you even more. Not only were you serving an unexplained penance, but now there was no ignoring it. Blankets may have been able to shield you from the torment while you lounged in your chambers, but knowing your people suffered was a pain even worse than the persistent chill that clung to your bones and threatened to freeze your blood to solid ice.
Your eyes scanned the rolling fields in search of anything beyond that damned white mist. There was nothing, of course. Just white and cold waiting there for you, a threat lingering so menacingly in its inescapability.
“Sir Riley,” You called out to the man standing just 20 paces away from you, guarding the door as if he himself could keep the world away from you. “Would you please call for the servants? I cannot go on with this cold. I require a bath. Quickly please.”
“Yes, Princess,” he grunts. He kept his eyes down as he obeyed. He hadn’t said much since it happened. You didn’t want him to anyway.
It was best if you didn’t think about the pain, the fear. You had been certain in that moment as you laid alone, blood seeping into the stone ground in the courtyard, knife deep in your stomach that you were going to die.
It had been weeks ago now, but the scars would be etched into your skin forever as a sick reminder. The blood a cruel painting of suffering on your dress.
Simon was never far from you now. Not that he had ever really been far from you. You could see it in the way he stood, the shame of not being there at that one particular moment oozed out of him like tar, threatening to trap him and consume him.
He had sworn himself to you just a few years ago. No one had expected you to pick a knight like him. Older, a bit brash and unfriendly to anyone who stepped in his way. Though, there had been something about him, something about the way that he held himself with confidence but an undeniable respect. For you, it was never a question that he was the most honorable choice.
He was the one who found you there, nearly dead in a pool of your own blood. Much of what he had said you had forgotten now. The disorientation had wiped most of what you remembered. You were grateful for it, but more grateful for him. If he had not come when he did, those surely would’ve been your last moments.
You had told him not to be ashamed. It was not his fault that he had been called away. The fault was only yours. You knew not to wander alone when the price on your head grew every day. Besides, he had been there in mere moments. No one but him had saved your life.
One of the servant girls pulled you from your stupor, her voice soft, almost anxious. “Princess? The water is ready for you.”
“Thank you. You are dismissed,” you said politely as you moved towards the large opulent tub in the corner of the room.
The girl bows her head and turns to leave you. “Thank you, Princess.”
You hesitate, turning towards her again. “Wait-“
“What may I get you, Princess?” She asks, back straight and eyes focused.
You poured the rose oil into the water as you spoke. “Please bring Sir Riley back in. I require him.”
The girl stammered anxiously, knowing your request was one she must question, even if she didn’t want to. “Princess, he is not permitted-“
“Then I permit it,” you snap, harsher than you had intended, voice quickly softening in apology. “Please, bring him to me.”
She gives you a nod before finally retreating. “Yes, Princess.”
You knew Simon was not allowed in your chambers when you bathed. No man was. It mattered not to you. He was not lecherous, not improper. He was a man of his oath and you of all people knew he would not break it.
He stands by the door, eyes respectfully downwards. The warm water did little for your comfort. Even the smell of the rose oil, a usual favorite and a luxury even to someone like yourself, did nothing to calm you. Your thoughts still lingered on the developing scar on your abdomen and the frigid winter beyond the stone walls of your keep.
“Sir?” You say as your head turns to him, watching him standing as straight as ever, posture almost statuesque in its severity.
He keeps his eyes turned away from you as he replies, mindful of his manners, even now. “Yes, Princess?”
“I have meant to thank you,” You say softly, lips hovering just above the water. “For saving me.”
He hardly moves at all as he speaks. “I was only doin’ my duty. There is no need for thanks, Princess.”
You smile just slightly. For someone so committed, so loyal and in your opinion, brave, he was quite humble. Or perhaps he was smart enough to not boast to a princess. “Still. Everyone in this castle has a duty to me, yet it was you who saved my life.”
He merely shrugs, as if keeping you from bleeding to death was nothing at all. “I was closest.”
You shake your head, though there was no frustration in it. “Accept the thanks, Sir.”
He gives a short, polite nod. “Yes, Princess.”
Even for a knight he was so quiet. You had heard little about his life before his training and the service. He had never been one to share even when questioned. His reservations seemed odd to you, but you refused to push. He would share in his own time. As frustrating as it was to have a huge silent man there, refusing any sort of friendship. Not that that was particularly allowed anyway. You cared not. He was a member of your service, therefore you cared for him.
“The doctors say you shall heal fine,” he states casually.
You chuckle at him. “With a nasty scar,” you reply. You might be alive, but the physical reminder will always be there.
“Battle wounds. If you were a knight, you would be well regarded,” he says almost reassuringly, though reassurance has never been his forte, or even something he enjoys. It was evident in the look in his eyes. You would almost call it shyness, if you didn’t know better.
You sigh, eyes travelling back down to the now pink gashes decorating your skin like they belonged there. “But I am not one.”
“I don’t give a shit,” he shrugs, voice gruff and blunt in his delivery.
“Sir!” You exclaim in shock, sitting up a bit straighter. You almost laugh at his proclamation. You’ve heard him curse plenty, just never at you.
His eyes finally meet yours, simply blinking as if he did nothing out of the ordinary, as if he did not just curse in the presence of royalty. “I mean it. You survived an attack. Most soldiers can’t say the same. It is a scar worthy of respect.”
You laugh openly now, hand going to cover your mouth. “Quite scandalous to swear at a princess.”
“You won’t tell,” he chuckles, quiet but unmistakably there.
Your smile grows at the sound of it, delighted. “Fair enough, Sir.”
—
Your father, the king, had been on the search for your attacker for weeks. Committing to a neverending quest to bring them to their knees. There was a tenseness in the keep that seeped through every wall. Everyone inside walked on eggshells, too frightened to do much more than shuffle quietly and keep their heads down. Simon had joined your father and his advisors in their meeting. If anyone was trusted in regards to your safety, it was him. He spent his days with you, protecting you and had been the one to step in and save your life. Hardly anyone’s insight was valued more in your father’s eyes.
“And what do we know? What information do you have for me? A man infiltrated my home and tried to kill my daughter! There better be answers and they better come now!” Your father bellowed, his anger growing into a hulking beast after the weeks of strife.
An advisor is the first to speak, quiet and anxious in the presence of your fuming father, praying his wrath did not turn to him “Well, Your Grace. The servants saw nothing and-”
“That is not an answer!” Your father slams his palms against the table as he stands, chair scrapping back and hitting the floor with a deafening clatter, sending the room into a tense silence.
Seconds pass as the silence stretches, eyes darting anxiously around. “I understand, Your Grace-”
Your father lifts his hand, pointing an accusatory finger in his advisor's direction. “You do not!” His anger was thick and suffocating, so intense you thought he might explode where he stood.
Before the trembling man could speak again, Simon stepped forward from his spot behind you. “Makarov. It was Makarov.”
Your father pauses, head snapping to Simon’s direction, intrigued. “And you know this how, Sir?”
Simon lifts his chin confidently. He has encountered Makarov’s men countless times, he knew they were the type to do this. “He is a long standing enemy of this kingdom, he ‘as threatened the royal family before. He is not above this.”
“Hmm,” your father nods, hands resting flat on the table as he lowers his head. “Yes. I believe you have a point, Sir.”
His advisor scoffs, face scrunching in disapproval as he adjusts his gold embroidered vest in a show of propriety, needing to make it known that he was Simon’s superior. “What does he know? He’s just a knight.”
Your head whips to the side, eyes boring into the pretentious man. How dare he speak that way to your family, let alone about the man who saved your life. “Shut your mouth.”
“Excuse me?” He falters, mouth falling open in shock, the directness unexpected and deeply unwanted.
“You heard me. Shut your mouth. I don’t remember you ever putting your life on the line for this kingdom, or for me. You know politics, sure, but you do not know what Sir Riley does. You will regard him with respect,” you retort, eyes blazing with a deep fury.
“Thank you, Princess,” Simon says quietly, eyes glancing at you quickly.
“Sir Riley, how many men can we spare for this? I want us on his doorstep as quickly as we can manage,” Your father continues as he sits again, finally starting to calm. The thought of retribution soothing him, tension dissipating slowly.
Simon doesn’t hesitate. “We can spare 200. That should be more than enough.” Simon wasn’t one to offer his men up willingly. Many were young and still training, hardly even out of boyhood. Sending them off would be a risk.
Your father sits back in his chair, a distinct look of surprise etched into his face at the offer. “200? You are sure there are enough?”
Simon nods quickly, “without a doubt, Your Grace. I will send our best. There will be retribution.”
“Good,” your father smiles, lips curling at the corners. “I want this problem ended.”
Knight!Simon x Royal!Reader- Confiding and Devotion
In which your knight will do anything to keep you safe and happy... Anything.

Knight!Simon, who is devoted to Royal!Reader. He's loyal like a dog, guards you with his life and refuses to leave your side. Even if he may never be more than a knight to you, he will stay with you and do whatever it takes to keep you safe and happy.
Simon, who is known to all as Ghost, knew that you probably didn't need him to walk you through the garden or accompany you in the castle's library... But he always does it anyway, simply because you asked. Simply because it's you. And for you, Ghost would do absolutely anything.
And maybe you shouldn't confide in your knight, whose loyalty bordered on infatuation. In fact, the line between devotion out of duty and devotion borne of adoration and longing became so fine that it was nonexistent to Ghost. But you did, you told him everything and he guarded those secrets with his life just as fiercely as he guarded you.
"I do not wish to be rude to the chefs, and I do not want to complain to them as I know they work hard," you said after dinner one night, while Ghost observed you going through the motions of your nightly routine. "But the venison was... Horrid. It tasted as if the poor deer died twice."
"Hm. I could pass the message along to them." Ghost offered, dark brown eyes tracking your every movement. "Could tell them to get their act together before their hands get mounted on the wall."
"God, no... Please, no." You said, fighting the urge to laugh at the ridiculous threat. If you could see beneath Ghost’s face covering, you would see a smile curling at the corners of his scarred lips. "Perhaps I'll leave a cookbook in their quarters instead, open it to a page on venison... But please, leave their hands alone."
On another occasion, you griped about how uncomfortable an outfit for a ball was. How it felt like you were being strangled by your own clothes. Midway through the ball, Ghost made an excuse to take you aside so he could discreetly loosen the fabric around your neck. The timing was perfect too, as you were forced to dance with the heir to a neighboring kingdom who had two left feet.
“My knight, did you see? They wouldn’t stop stepping on my toes,” you muttered, tilting your chin up as Ghost undid the topmost button at your collar. “Do you think it was on purpose?”
“Unsure,” Ghost replied, his eyes darted over to the bumbling royal in question. “Though I would hope not.”
He stuck close to your side the rest of the night, glaring daggers at the royal every time they even breathed in your direction.
But in the days following the extravagant party, something was weighing on your mind... And you refused to say a word of what it was. Ghost could see how fake your smiles were, how forced it all felt as you went through the motions of your routines. It looked as though you were losing sleep too, but he did not want to press the matter... Not since your elderly parents always seemed to be hovering now. Speaking of which, the king and queen seemed happier than usual, all smiles… Oblivious to their own heir’s dismay. It was a week after the ball when you showed up at your dear knight’s quarters... Puffy eyed and trembling slightly, your regal attire rumpled along with your hair.
"Your Grace... Has something happened...?" He asked carefully. For once, he was out of his armor, the helmet he normally wore nowhere in sight. "Come inside, tell me what troubles you."
You barely waited for his invitation to enter his chamber, frantic yet still trying to maintain your perfect, regal air. Ghost hated it, hated how it looked so forced… But he could see the cracks, he could see how the professionalism was melting away and leaving his exhausted charge. Rubbing aggressively at your eyes, you gathered the courage to speak.
"Simon... I am expected to marry the heir to the neighboring kingdom." The use of his true name, not 'Ghost', not 'my knight'... But Simon. It caught him off guard. You had never used his name before, Ghost didn't even believe you knew it. "They… My parents have arranged for me to... They're marrying me off. Simon, I don’t want this, I don’t want to lose…" You trailed off, your eyes looking miles away. Perhaps into a future without… Something, or someone.
"Your Grace... No..." Ghost's rumbling voice seemed softer than ever as he reached for your hands. "I... I will remain your knight. You will not lose me." That much he was sure of. But you shook your head, and his heart sank.
"You will remain my knight. Always, Simon." You confirmed, and Ghost relaxed just a bit. "But I do not wish to lose my freedom... To marry them would mean being tethered to another... No, I refuse. I refuse…!” Your voice climbed up an octave as you continued, and Ghost swiftly closed the door to his chamber before making his way to you. “I will not marry a person I barely know, it will be over my dead body. Kingdom politics be damned... No!" As you went on, repeating yourself until your voice broke, fresh tears tumbled from your eyes once more.
Ghost was at a loss for words... Which you could hardly tell, since he was generally silent anyway. But he took you into his arms and held you as you sobbed into his shoulder. Every mournful sob and wrack of your body felt like a knife in his heart. Your knight shushed you, stroked your head as he let you cry… Until you grew tired and he carried you to your own quarters. All the while, the cogs in his head turned faster than they ever have, a plan took shape and the desire to act grew.
After that night, that moment of you confiding in your knight once again, Ghost got to work. While your aging parents helped you, their only heir who was finally going to get married and take over for them, Ghost formulated a plan. One involving a rogue noble who was now hailed as a villain, an ex-prince who fled his own kingdom, and a knight turned charming thief... Plus a few castle servants who he paid off to assist, to set up a scene.
You awoke one night to Ghost at your bedside, shaking you until you woke up. He motioned for you to stay silent, though his eyes pleaded for you to trust him. Instead of his armor, he wore something lighter... Still protective, but something that wouldn't clank or rustle much.
And since this is your knight, the one who you trust with your secrets and life, you stood and let him lead the way. Ghost led you out of the castle, and stopped to fix a shawl over you. He lifted the hood to make sure your face was covered enough. Then you went to the stalls, and he helped you onto the back of the black and white stallion he trained himself.
"My knight... Might I ask where we're going this late...?" You finally asked after he hopped on himself, your arms instinctively wrapping around his middle. Why you didn’t ask sooner was no mystery… You trusted him, even in your confusion.
"Somewhere safe," Ghost explained over the clomping of hooves. "Somewhere where you won't have to marry a stranger... Your parents will believe they took you." He made sure to thank those servants on the way to your room, the ones who promised to set up the 'evidence' of a crime that never happened. "Let them believe it, let both kingdoms fight to the bloody death."
Ghost sounded cold, cruel, but when he glanced back at you for a split second you could see nothing but warmth in his eyes. And in his voice there was a reverence which was unmistakable.
"Both kingdoms could fall for all I care. So long as you are safe and sound... That is all I will ever care about," said Ghost with deep devotion resonating in each word. "And where we're going, nobody will judge or sell us out. It will only be us, Your Grace."
Your head rested against his back, and your arms tightened ever so slightly around your fearless knight. It almost sounded too good to be true. "How could we be sure that they won't... That I won't be dragged back kicking and screaming, and you'll be... God, Simon, they would have you executed."
And to your surprise, he just laughed, shoulders shaking slightly.
"So would all of the others there. We'll be in the company of the disgraced. Of someone who despises their own kingdom and any kingdoms like it. Of a thief. Three individuals whose heads will roll if any of us get caught.” Ghost said as the two of you rode further away from your kingdom. “We will be safe, Your Grace."
lil prince hasn seen sunflowers in the gardens, so when a little village kid gave him one he was really enamored with it and would watch it in the castle a lot eufgggvcgjvg yeahm
Sir Simon "Ghost" Riley x transmasc oc/reader x John "Soap" MacTavish
Content: SFW (for now?), language, british people, mild transphobia? Sort of? More like old men half understanding in the way old men do,
THIS IS WRITTEN WITH AN OC, NOT AS AN X READER
Summary: The princess of a war torn kingdom was given a new... "pet". And it's a bit awkward since he doesn't like to speak to him specifically. Just a oneshot, unless you want more
This is a sort of Royal Au where Ghost is a knight, Price is a king, etc you get the vibe. I have two different versions for Johnny though:
☆ Just a no one from the city
Or
☆ Scottish King
Pls let me know if there's a preference :3
For ease of writing, I'll be using my OC Rin as the main pov. He's trans cause there's never enough representation for trans characters, so please be nice and enjoy :D
(He's half hispanic and half british, curly haired for those that want his visuals/voice imaginings)
Rin outright objected to the idea of having a personal knight. He fought hard with his father over the desicion, rejecting the prospecting knights offering their blade to protect him. He was the "princess" and "obviously" needed protecting.
Bullshit, is what it was. He'd gone unwed for years due to war tearing their kingdom to an unprospering halt, and no one wanted to marry a twenty-four year old princess. And because of this, and his own insistence, Rin was set to become the ruling Queen when his father felt it time to step down. But gods know when the hell that will happen.
Every single knight was turned away, mostly politely. Rin at least let them show their strengths off first before turning them away. The idea came that he'd just learn the ways of the blade himself, sneaking down to the stables and armoury in the night to train himself. It hadn't been long into this venture when his father called him to the main hall.
A group of merchants passed by as he walked up to his father, chatting up something fierce about their permit to sell and how excited they were. It made him smile a bit. Rin made it a point to get to know the merchants and townsfolk.
What made him lose this smile was the sight of another damned knight, standing eerily still and adorned in a full set of plated armour down to the helmet that hid his face. No house colours or banner were with him, which while unusual, just made the boys stomach drop.
"Rin, darling," His father started, the smile on his face warm with worry. "This is Sir Riley. I've appointed him to be your personal blade." The king stood from his seat and stepped down to the floor.
"Father." Rin didn't bother to hide his annoyance or keep his tone in check in front of the new man. "We agreed that *I* would be the one to pick out who takes up this... role. You can't just choose for me." His father grabbed his hand and held them tight, his smile just as firm as his grip.
"And you, dear, have rejected every single knight that's come to our doors. I cannot keep worrying about you, so Sir Riley is your last — and mind you— Your *only* option." His father didn't let go of his hands as he tried to pull away.
Brown eyes met the quiet steel of the man's helmet, a quiet huff coming from him now. Utterly ridiculous. Just another choice being ripped away from him. It was only a matter of time before his father would try to marry him off again. The knight didn't move even a centimeter. Was he bothering to breathe at all? The fact that he almost refused to move made him seem like it was all a joke, a set of armour his father set up to scare him.
Rin pulled at his hands, gently this time, and moved in front of the knight. First, with his arms crossed and face screwed up in scrutiny, Rin looked him over. Nothing was odd, besides how hollow the suit seemed, but how could he just accept this?
It was finally when Rin reached a hand up to the helmet did the man inside move. It scared him how fast his wrist was grabbed and pulled off to the side, almost pulling him upwards. He let out out a gasp and stared up at the mask as it tilted down to "look" at him.
"Do not do that."
The voice was low, threatening
Rin couldn't tell if the slight growl was on purpose to scare him or if that was just how he sounded.
"Well, how am I supposed to accept a knighy if I can't see your face?" He really thought he had a "gotchya" moment with that one, chest puffed and shoulder back while his hand was still being held hostage.
"Ah-I've already arranged for him. He'll be your personal knight and that's final." His father chimed in in an attempt to de-escalate. Rin turned to him, brow furrowed, and gestured to the man.
"This one?"
"Yes. Now, i have a meeting with the duke from the south to appoint resources. You're free to do as you please, but be mindful that he'll be hoing everywhere with you."
"What? What are you, a dog?" Rin scoffed, looking up at the man again. His arm was dropped unceremoniously and the knight went still again, not even acknowledging that he was spoken to.
"No. He's your knight. Your personal protector." His father came around and put a hand on Rin's shoulder to lead him to the stairwell. "You just need time to get used to him, so I've instructed him to not leave your side. Why don't you show him the town square? You look like you need some air."
Rin stared at the open door ahead of him ehile his father darted off. *Coward.* He didn't even want to stay for the verbal lashing he was deserving of? Oh, that man was going to never hear the end of it. Yes. He was the King. Yes, he was *technically* his daughter. But that did not mean he was free of his wrath.
With a sigh, the boy turned to the knight, long skirt twirling gently in his anger.
"Wait here, then. I have to grab something."
He mounted the stairs with a huff, only making it halfway before he paused. The soft clank of metal shoes on stone came from below him. They both had stopped, staring at the other.
"I'm just going to my room. You can wait there in the hall." He rolled his eyes and began up the stairs again. With every soft tap of his feet followed a slightly louder thud.
"You. Are not. Coming with me. *To my room.*" Rin stopped again, at the top of the stairs, and looked down at the knight with a frown.
The knight said nothing. He just. Fucking. Stood there.
Rin felt his hands grip the long sleeves of the dress. Inahle. Hold. Say nothing. Please say nothing. With a sigh, he turned on his heel and made way for his room. Hopefully with enough speed to lose the man in the long halls.
But who was he to be so lucky? The man was surely quick. And quiet as one could be in full plates.
The princess held his face steady, well aware how his emotions liked to speak loudly through his expressions. This was going to be absolutely infuriating.
He was quick to grab his bag from his room. The knight standing in the doorway made him feel cornered, and very, very small. He couldn't let him know or see his hands shaking with rage. He didn't need a knight! He was on his way to being perfectly capable of protecting himself. Eventually...
Rin looked at the black strip between the helmets plates where the man's eyes should be. In theory. Why couldn't he see his face at all? How was he supposed to trust him in any capacity? Didn't he know it rude to not show his face? Or did he not care?
Either way. It was foolish and he just wanted to be away from his father and this damn statue. Rin hummed as he walked back to the hall. Sir Riley backed away to allow him through, even closing the door behind him. How chivalrous. It made him nauseated. He was old enough to not have men doing this.
♤♡◇♧♤♡◇♧
They got outside, finally, and Rin took the first full deep breath since his father called him to meet this man. The sun was warm on his skin, highlighting all the tight brown curls of his hair. Sir Riley looked at the stable boy, the light coming off his armour almost bloody blinding Rin and the poor worker.
"Fetch the carriage." He spoke with that growl again, leading Rin to believe that it was just how he sounded.
"No, no need. Just a couple horses will do. As always." Rin stepped closer to the boy as he stared nervously between the two of them. Could the princess be intimidating? A little. But the man behind him was way more terrifying. The stableboy dashed off to grab the personal coachman. No one was hoing to disobey a man that looked like they could slice them in half with a greatsword they could weild with one hand.
The knight pulled the door open for Rin, gesturing for him to get in without a word. The princess glared over at the stableboy as he pulled himself inside while avoiding any extra help the knight was offering.
Little traitor. How could he listen to some stranger over *him*? Absurd.
It wasn't all that far to the town square either. It was a large city, but the palace sat fairly central to everything. Rin hated the confines of the carriage, especially since he was fully alone inside it. Sir Riley had his own steed. Of course. Why wouldn't he? Where did his father even find this man anyway...
Rin went about this trip in his usual way, fully ignoring the imposing figure that shadowed him to every stall and listened to every conversation with a sharp ear no matter how mundane it was.
He heard many nonsense stories of the people's lives that didn't make sense with no context, but Rin listened to everyone with a smile. Perhaps not the most even tempered royal he's met, but he cared.
Or was really damn good at faking it. That's what the knight would put his money on.
After a couple hours of mingling and trading objects and stories, the sun began to dip low and the knight began to usher the princess back to the carriage. Rin protested and tried to ignore him to continue his day, but this man was clearly insistant.
The knight had rules he was instructed to follow to a t, and he would do just that. Starting with getting the princess home before dusk.
He didn't put up much of a fight, though he didn't want to admit he was getting tired anyway. They made it back to the palace in one piece. It just really cemented the fact that he felt that he didn't need protection. And if he did. Well... he could learn to do it himself just like everything else.
Dinner came and went, his father weaseling his way out of another conversation by inviting the duke and his entourage to eat with them. Rin *was* going to talk to him about this.
♤♡◇♧♤♡◇♧
The princess sat himself on the edge of his bed in a nightgown, hair still damp from the bath. The handmaids had left his room for the night and the room was silent. Silent enough that the door thudding shut made him jump.
Sir Riley now stood in his room, silent and still in front of his door. Rin stared at him over his shoulder. He was way too exposed. His nightgowns were comfortable. Perhaps a bit much for a man he wasn't married to to see him in. His tanned cheeks turned red as he pulled his arms across his chest despite being turned away from the knight.
"Why are you in here?"
No response came from the man.
"Hello?" Rin's brow furrowed deeper. "You don't need to be in here."
Nothing came from him again.
Rin faced the window across the room, trying to gather his thoughts in the gentle candlelight. Sir Riley didn't move a muscle. Seemed like a trained thing. Had to be.
The princess sighed as he pulled the covered back and over his body, trying to ignore the presence behind him. Staring at him. Standing inside his room. Just... watching him sleep--
Absoluetly not. He could not do this.
Rin whipped up and faced the knight who seemed to straighten up a bit at the sudden movement.
"You cannot be in here while I sleep." He clenched his jaw as he stared at the faint moonlight shining off of the man's armour. The air of an expected response once again went unfilled.
"Gods, okay. You. Need to be somewhere else. Not in here. I can't sleep with you in here. So *please*, get out."
Rin crossed an arm over to pull the blankets back so he could stand but the knight held up a hand. He grabbed the door handle and agonisingly slowly pulled it open before stepping back into the hallway. The door once again thudded shut and Rin flopped back onto his pillows.
.... he... didn't hear any footsteps. Even though he was quiet, steel on stone would always be heard.
Brown eyes peeled open, staring at the small gap under the door until his eyes adjusted to the dim light that barely came through. And two shadows sat still in front of his door.

Knight!Gaz who is your sworn protector. By law he must do as you say and die honorably for you, which for him is a dream come true. Ever since he lay eyes on you, he was smitten. You want to walk in the garden? He’s there with you, listening to your soft melodic humming as you enjoy the freshly blooming flowers.
Knight!Gaz who knows his love for you is wrong. As a knight, he is sworn to never take a wife, never have children. But when he’s with you, he can’t help himself but imagine it. Small babes with your eyes, his smile. The thought distracts him greatly.
Knight!Gaz who entrenches himself in training, trying desperately to keep you out of his mind. It does little, of course. But he won’t allow himself to abandon his sword for the day, knowing that if he did, he may abandon this life all together just to be with you.
Knight!Gaz who is filled with pure disgust when your potential suitors come to see you. He deems them pathetic, not nearly of the necessary quality to be anywhere near you, let alone a husband. He hates them all severely, wishing that he could do as he pleased and pitch them right off the nearest cliff.
Knight!Gaz who sits with you in your chambers at night, listening to you complain about the men who came to see you. He can’t help the small smile that creeps onto his lips. He can’t tell you, he never can, but to know that in some universe, he could be yours and you his, he is happy.

Being the princess has its perks, like getting assigned your own personal knight for guarding purposes. And lucky for you, your knight is handsome. No, not just handsome..But a complete pretty boy. Kyle Garrick, a knight who goes by Gaz for some odd reason, has a face more suited for a prince or a model used for paintings or sculptures. So it should come as no surprise that you became a bit infatuated with him.
You took a bit of a liking to teasing him as well…Whenever you can. Light touches, brushing your leg against his when you’re seated next to each other, innuendos that are not lost on him…But none of it seems to really get a rise out of him. How frustrating.
That is…Until one day. It was a nice spring day, a quiet day at that. No issues to be dealt with, no threats…Just relaxation. Guards, servants, maids, and a few knights were enjoying tea or just taking in the beauty of the palace garden. Among the knights was your personal knight…Gaz, who’s beautiful, brown eyes met yours almost immediately, as if he could sense that you were up to something.
Sure enough…You gave him a cheeky grin and turned around, bending over to look down at some roses, that’s all…That’s definitely all this was, and certainly not you showing him what’s under your dress. Why would you be showing him that when there’s absolutely nothing there? That little display alone is enough to make him stand up and excuse himself…Discreetly dragging you along with him before anyone else can notice.
And that is how you wound up here in his chambers. Laying on your stomach, face shoved into a pillow with your hips lifted up. After he pushed you down onto the bed, he hastily tugged his trousers down enough to free his length…Which he wasted no time in rubbing between your slick folds after shoving the skirt of your dress up.
“You…Think you can get away with that?” Your knight hissed directly into your ear. Gone was his professional, cool facade. “Flashing me like that…In front of the guards, the servants, what if your bloody parents saw that? You…Dirty…Fucking…Slag…”
Each word of that last sentence is punctuated with a rough thrust, the final word being followed by a rough slap to your ass. That slap earned a yelp out of you, which egged him on to slap that same spot again.
“Gods…Do you know what you do to me?” He gritted out, delivering another slap to your other cheek. “You have no idea how many times I laid right here…Thinking of you…So I wouldn’t drag you off to do exactly this…”
You couldn’t form a coherent thought, let alone a coherent sentence as he slapped the other cheek once again. His thrusts did not let up, and he let out a cruel laugh when he felt you clenching around him.
“Are you going to cum? Do you like this? Being fucked stupid by your knight? Answer me, you filthy excuse of a princess…”
“Yes…! Yeh-yes, yes, Gaz…!” You finally manage to cry out, words muffled by the pillow.
“Yes? Mmhf…Yes, you want to cum?” He asked, his words rough as he slowed. “Then tell me…Say that you want me to breed you…Say it…”
You try to push your hips back against him, trying to get him to move again, but this earns you another rough slap before he holds your hips in place. He leans down a bit, until his lips are right beside your ear as he whispers out the next words.
“No…No cumming until you say it…” He sneered, you could just hear the smug, borderline cruel grin in his words. “Say it…Say you want your knight to breed you, say that you want my seed…”
He would have taken the way your pussy clenched around him again as an answer, but no…No, he’s wanted to hear these words from you. He was tired of imagining it whenever he thrusted up into his fist. No longer would it be a fantasy.
“Plea…Please…Kyle…” You finally whimper out, tears of pleasure and frustration in your eyes. “Kyle, I want you…Need you to breed me, please…Fuck, I want you to fill me up…!”
“Now was that so hard, princess…?”
The use of his name was certainly a bonus for him…In an instant, Gaz is once again pounding into you, driving his hips forward so roughly that each thrust results in the sound of skin against skin. That accompanied with the wet sounds of your arousal nearly drowns out your muffled moans. Gaz responds to your moans by pressing his face into your shoulder, biting down hard as one of his hands snakes down under you.
If you weren’t already close, the way his fingers circle your clit might be the thing that sends you right over the edge. He toys with the hardened bud, rubbing as he keeps his pace up. Finally, you clench around him one more time, your release tearing through you and making you twitch and writhe beneath him. Gaz groans against your shoulder, a soft curse leaving him as his length twitches inside of you.
“Fuck…Fuck…Say my name again…Say it again, say it while I fuck the future of this kingdom into you…”
And just as he asked, you complied obediently…You moaned out his name over and over and over again. “Kyle, Kyle, Kyle!” is a mantra on your lips as he buries himself to the hilt. He muffles his own sounds as he releases, coating your insides with a few final thrusts. His head rests at the junction of your neck and shoulder, hips still thrusting shallowly.
He sits up a bit after a moment, at long last allowing your hips to lower. But he stays inside of you, carefully maneuvering you onto your back. The sensation of him still being inside of you makes you whine from overstimulation, which he responds to with some gentle shushing.
“Shh…We’re not done…Not yet…” He says, his voice somewhat resembling his usual tone once again. He sits up on his knees, looking down at you with an almost glazed over look. Completely drunk on you. “Just lay down, relax…I’ll take care of you…”
His sweet, honeyed words surround you as his hands roam around your body. Your eyes flutter shut as he slowly begins thrusting again, much gentler than before, hands sliding up to cup your breasts…Oh, he can’t wait to see them fuller in a few months.
Princess! Reader preforming Knight! Johnny's accolade ceremony and officially knighting him. She taps the blade onto his shoulders, dubbing him as an official knight of her court.
Knight! Johnny swearing to defend and serve Princess! Reader with his life, by whatever means possible. The way that Princess! Reader watches the man kneeling before her seems like something out of a painting.
Princess! Reader being unable to keep her eyes off of Knight! Johnny for the entirety of the celebration after...And he definitely notices too. They keep making eyes at each other.
Knight! Johnny, after some encouragement from Knight! Kyle, finally makes his way over to Princess! Reader once she is alone. He asks her to dance, which she gracefully accepts.
Princess! Reader's thoughts are less than graceful as they dance, finally having an excuse to touch her knight.
Knight! Johnny's body is reacting to each "accidental" touch from the princess. Her body against his, a thigh pressed so close to his growing need...All in front of other royals and knights. He keeps it together pretty well. He's a goddamn royal knight now...Keep it together, Johnny.
Knight! Johnny keeps it together for the rest of the dance...For the rest of the celebration after you two part...Until the guests finally take their leave and the servants begin tidying the ballroom. He's doing so well, there's a tournament in the morning, his mind needs to be there.
But there goes his mind, away goes his train of thought when he sees you, Princess!Reader. When he sees you still lingering nearby, the way you've been staring at him. Eyeing him...Watching in the same way a wolf would watch a rabbit.
Knight! Johnny should ignore you. Ignore the way you smile coyly, ignore the hand that beckons him to follow, and ignore the way your dress hugs your body just right.
But why would he? Why would he ignore the heir to the throne...Ignore his duty?
Its only right that he follows you out of the ballroom, up some stairs, down a long hall...Right into your bed chamber.
something something its him answering to his call of duty
