Look. I’ve never played COD a day in my life. The only thing I really know about the characters are from fics I read. Trust me, I know this is definitely OOC. If you don’t like it, don’t read it. I’ve been in a writing block since at least last October so of my brain decides to cook up a mix between Brave and COD with Ghoap undertones tossed in? Sure. Why not? Tbh I probably could fit a part two in here.

Lieutenant Simon Riley who finds himself in the middle of an ancient forest somewhere deep in Scotland. Why, you ask? Because one night while they were all holed up in some shitty safe house, Sergeant Johnny MacTavish wouldn’t shut up about this one place somewhat near his childhood home. That he swore it was magical. How you could just feel it in the air that something about it was different than the rest of the area. How it had to mean something. And with Johnny lying comatose in some shitty bed in Hereford, medical instruments holding his broken skull together, Ghost figures they can use all the magic that Johnny swears exists.
What Ghost didn’t expect was for…the air to actually shift the deeper he got into the forest. He’s deployed to many sketchy locations. This.. This was different. Like something was watching him. As if he was being judged. It makes him more tense than he already was. But the thought of Johnny lying on his literal deathbed made him keep putting the next foot in front of the last.
It’s silent. Unnaturally so. As if the forest itself is holding its breath. Then, a blue flame like light appears. It’s small. Maybe ten feet ahead of him. He stops, breath stilling as he stares at it. Wonders if it’s real. Or if he’s lost it, officially. The blue flame seems to be staring right back at him. Then another one appears. Maybe ten feet ahead of the first one. It also stares at Simon. Waiting. Testing. He pauses. Knowing that maybe he should’ve listened to Johnny more when talking about the stories he grew up with. Having a feeling that maybe the magic they laughed him off for believing was actually real.
Above. A raven croaks sharply. Ghost’s eyes shoot up to the trees where it came from. He barely catches sight of the bird taking off from a tree branch behind him before it glides past him towards the blue flames. It disappears from sight with two strong flaps of its wings.
Pulling himself together, Ghost continues the journey. Stepping off the path and following the blue flame. When he gets closer, the first disappears and soon a trail of more appears, leading deeper into the dense forest.
Following the trail of blue flames leads him into a clearing. Centered in the clearing is a cabin. If you could even call it that. It looked ancient. Like a hut almost. But smoke rose from the lone chimney. Around the abode, there was what looked like a garden. And a very large stockpile of wood. The last of the blue flames stopped about a quarter of the way into the clearing. Just before what looked like a line of some white mixture. It seems to circle the ground around the hut.
He takes a few more steps forward. looks around the property. The raven from earlier, it has to be the same one, is sat on a perch by the front door, watching him. It croaks again, loudly. Just as Ghost steps over the white line circling the home. The last of the blue flames are gone now.
The front door opens. A cloaked figure peeks through, facing the bird’s perch. A pair of pale hands reach up and pull the hood of the cloak back. It’s a woman. Her hair nearly copper in the last fading light of the day that somehow lands in this part of the forest but nowhere else. “Alastair. You’re back early. Come on in then.” Her voice is soft. But there’s something other to it. It draws him in almost.
The woman’s head turns directly to where Ghost stands when the raven doesn’t move. She pauses, taking in the sight of him. “Oh… I wasn’t expecting a visitor.” She shoots the bird an annoyed look. “You should’ve warned me before bringing company. The shop is a mess.” She turns to Ghost and gives an apologetic smile. “I’m sorry. But I’m not taking visitors at the moment. Perhaps another day?” She makes to step back into her home, to close the door.
Ghost steps into the circle fully now. “Wait!” And the irony doesn’t escape him how he used to boast about never saying ‘Please’ for anything just two weeks ago to the team. But things are different now. Especially with a life on the line. “Wait. Please. I need, I need help.”
The woman frowns, huffing. Because men are all the same. Aren’t they? Coming uninvited and expecting her to bend over backwards to grant them their wishes. “No. Not at the moment. Have a good day.” And then she goes to truly close the door. But a flash of ghostly blue outside her protective circle makes her stop. She slowly turns until she stares directly at the little blue flame watching her silently. Her jaw slackens and her eye twitches. “G’way.” Her eyes flick to the raven who releases what damn near could be a laugh at her. Then she rests her gaze on the hulking man standing inside the protective circle around her home.
After what feels like a standoff that lasts forever, Ghost breaks. “Please.. It’s not for me. It’s my-“ and a million different phrases and descriptions of what Johnny means to him flick through his mind at once. But he settles on, “my friend. He’s hurt. He might not make it. But he talked about this place. About you I figure. I couldn’t just sit there. I couldn’t just watch as everyone else gives up. He believed in this, in this place and I just had to try. To at least say I did. Because I wasn’t there to save him when he got hurt.”
The woman’s frown deepens even more for a bit. Then she sighs, shoulders slumping. “A friend, ey? Yeah. I’ve had a few of those.” Her eyes trail to the will ‘o the wisp. And she nods slowly. Once it fades away, she turns back into her home. “Well, come on then. Reckon I can’t turn you away.”
When he eventually follows her, she’s deeper into her home. The inside is…somehow larger on the inside than the outside makes it look. He decides things will be easier if he doesn’t think about it. “You’re helping me?”
The woman hums absently as she moves about. “Thought I was helping your friend, not you.” She waves her hand and the door closes behind Alastair as the bird swoops in to rest on his perch by her mantle. “But yes. It’s not often anymore that people are able to find my home.” Her eyes flick to where she watches him about to step on a project of hers. “Do mind my wood, would you? I work very hard to make each of my pieces and make a living.”
Ghost nods slowly, being careful with his steps. “Right. Sorry.” He looks around warily. The air here is filled with the same feeling as the forest outside. Just…more condensed. “My friend…Soap. He’s been hurt. Bad. Took a bullet to the temple. He’s got plaster holding his skull together. He needs help.”
She pauses before looking over at him. “…Soap? That is his name?” She smirks knowingly, a mischievous shine to her expression. “And what might your name be then? Water?”
His eyes narrow. Not liking the games she’s playing. The fact that she seems to be wasting time. “No. It’s Ghost. And yes. You can call him Soap. Can you help him or not?”
And she can’t help it. She laughs. Tossing her head back and laughing, raising a hand to cover her mouth as she attempts to control her reaction. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry. It’s just… that. Those are the most interesting names I’ve heard in a bit of time. But yes.. I can help your friend. But how, is the question I need you to answer for me.” Her eyes drag back to meet his. “Do you want me to let him reach a peaceful end? Put him back together? Turn time back so you can prevent him from getting hurt? There are many things I can do, Ghost. You only have to pick the option you desire.”
Ghost freezes. The intensity of her stare drilling into him. This is the moment of truth. He feels it. The real judgement. The one that will decide Johnny’s fate. The image of how he left the explosives sergeant lying motionless in bed is brought to the forefront of his mind. His mouth dries, and swallowing doesn’t help any. “I want you to come with me. I don’t, I don’t know what would be best. I don’t want him to die. But I don’t want him to hurt.” He recognizes he’s far past every other wall he’s ever stood up to protect himself emotionally. All of them are torn down in hopes that his actions can somehow help Johnny.
She stays silent for a few more moments. Staring him down. Then she hums. “Very well then. I suppose it’s been a while since I ventured out of my forest.” With a wave of her hand, tiny vials and herbs and jars start floating into a satchel hanging on a coat rack by the door. “And where exactly is it that we’re going then, Ghost?”
Imagine that instead of Ellie and Joel, you and Ghost must journey across country to reach the fireflies, for humanities last shot at creating a vaccine.
Set after mw2, the cordyceps outbreak hits (mw3 doesn’t happen) and task force 141 gets separated over time. Ghost ends up in Boston, one of the last quarantine zones five years after the outbreak (instead of 20).
Leaving his military days behind he now works with a woman named Tess as a smuggler. Until they get a job to smuggle you out the city (reader is of age, this is a romance fic instead of daughter/father). Not knowing it would change everything.
You are immune, and delivering you to the fireflies is mankind’s last hope at saviour.
(I’ve had this idea for a while, it sounded better in my head. It’s kinda cringe now I’ve actually written it down)
I forgot: Johnny would replace Tommy in this, Ghosts past still happened
AS WELL AS BLOODTHIRSTER GRAVES BUT HE MIGHT WORK BETTER AS JUST A DEMON PRINCE THIS WAS WRITTEN WITH EITHER IN MIND
I thought this up while in the shower. Just him and his shadows... just how you might be a sacrifice that didn't exactly die yet and while offerings are being gotten to summon his shadows he sees you bleeding out and all you can chirp out is how cold you are.
oh darlin' is that all? I can give you so much more. He says now crouching over you as your eyes struggle to stay open but you just reach with shaking hands to the charming looking man above you. How he hums so pleasantly at you and when he embraces you is when you feel the warmth rolling over you. Be a good darlin' f'me and stay awake... that's it. Oh look at those pretty eyes of yours... yes me and my shadows will have fun with you. There you go dear... all this warmth for your fragile little body. Such a good darlin'... your soul is so sweet... oh yes we'll have so much fun.
I'm a Halloween type if bitch so ofc I can't stop thinking about CoD characters as monsters.
Ghost is definitely a vampire, it's the only monster I can see for him. He thrives in the shadows. He's been a vampire since he was buried alive. Simon died in that grave and Ghost came out thirsting for blood.
Rudy, Alejandro and Soap are all werewolves, they go along swimmingly and you can find em dogpiling during downtime. Soap is a newer turned werewolf while Rudy and Alejandro are born werewolves. They're very protective of him.
Gaz is a fledgling vampire, he's never tasted human blood before, unlike Ghost. He either feeds on animal blood or artificial blood.
Laswell is a Banshee (and I'm going with the Teen Wolf interpretation of a banshee for this one) Thanks to her premonition a lot of deaths have been avoided and this makes her an indispensable tactical mind and advisor (paired with her own natural talents for strategy and analysis, she's truly the backbone of 141)
I'm extremely torn on Price. It'd be so funny to make him human just so he can be the normal parent surrounded by a rowdy bunch of supernatural children. A werewolf and a vampire would suit him as well. As do other forms of undead. I need to think about it 🤔
Maybe I'll make another post on SpecGru and KorTac as a whole
Anyways, I'm thinking about doing one for the 141, but it's just the werecreature type that changed my life when I used Wattpad back when I was 12. I'm tired and I've been listening to a mix of the Stick Season album and the sped up version of Cupid for the past few hours, so I have no idea if anything will be understandable.
No lore, just thoughts
I am open to suggestions
Soap is 100% the main reason why it's creatures and not just wolves. I think constantly about how much this man just doesn't like dogs, and I think it'd be funny if he was some werecat in a majority canidae team. I'm a little torn on the specific cat. I decided mostly on a cougar, but it'd be so funny to have him be a Scottish wildcat, since those are just slightly bigger tabby cats. Maybe '09 Soap as a cougar and then '22 Soap as a Scottish wildcat, but cougar Soap come home.
Ghost pretty much hit out of the park with a wolf I think, but maybe I'm still going through that phase. I do think a wolf dog of some type could also be good too. I have no idea how the whole genetic structure works for this, so I'm just making things up because I'm not ready to get into dominant and recessive genes again. Anyway, definitely a wolf dog. Husky wolf dog Ghost with the most ear piercing howl imaginable.
Roach is something. Roach is definitely something. I've mainly been thinking between either a jackal, coyote, or (maybe) a fox. The world is my oyster, so I could make a hybrid of course - like a fox/jackal sort of thing? Even if that couldn't realistically exist, but he's the silly guy. He can have fun.
Gaz is a coyote in my head, or a dingo. I have not been keeping their nationalities in mind while doing this, but something about Gaz just yells Australian to me. I know he's not, but I took one look at that man and there were dots that connected.
Price's muttonchops have ensnared and bewitched me, and that's why my first thought was some type of lion. I feel like he prowls. A bear would also work, and might wind up being what I go with.
Laswell could be a lynx, or she could be a caracal, BUT she could also be a housecat and that is objectively better. There's no other comments I could make, I think Laswell is a house cat. Probably a British shorthair or a ragdoll.
I want to do more characters, but I need to refresh myself with who they are as people.
