Back at it with Omega!Soap trying to bring Omega!Reader in.
But omega!Soap who is finally, finally ready to introduce you to his pack. He’s done all the right things. He’s taken this slow, knows that introducing a new omega to a pack like his can be stressful. He’s done a lot of reading about it.
He brings scented items of his pack mates to you. Nothing overly personal, simply three handkerchiefs that they had rubbed into their scent glands. He presents them to you somewhere neutral, like a park. But he’s more than relieved when you shyly ask to keep them for now. And when you finally offer something up to him, a woven scarf with your scent embedded in the fibers, he presents it to his pack with excitement. And he adores that they like it, that they smell your scent and they all seem to salivate at it. But then he realizes that they’re fucking drooling about it, pulling the item back and forth to try and get another whiff. They haven’t even met you and they’re already acting like a pack of pups.
So before Johnny even sets up a meeting, he’s quick to set ground rules. Everyone, and that means everyone, he shoots a very aggressive look at Simon who is trying to feign nonchalance, needs to be on their best behavior. He wants this to works, but he needs to know that you will be comfortable, and he needs you to know that he has your 6.
Ultimately, you decide where you’ll meet for the first time. Somewhere off base, with good food and drinks. And Johnny is practically buzzing out of his skin the whole time. A terror to his pack in the days leading up to it.
It’s almost hilarious that when Johnny finally lands eyes on you the night of, he’s purring and rubbing his cheek against yours. Almost entirely forgetting that his pack is standing behind him waiting to be introduced.
Another extension for Omega!Soap introducing Omega!Reader to his pack!
So, Soap knew he was making a big step here. He’s asking you to come meet his pack, who has a reputation for being intense. But more than that, he’s asking you, an unmated Omega, to come meet his two alphas and beta, to potentially consider joining the pack. It’s a big ask, he’s not ignorant to that. And he has very little concern about you. His three packmates on the other hand…
Johnny loves his pack and he is not embarassed of them. Let that be said. However, he is aware that his pack is labeled as intense for a reason. And he will be DAMNED if they manage to scare you off in a singular night.
Gaz is probably the easiest to address. Kyle can be heavy on the flirting, maybe a little forward. Johnny is insistent that the goal is not to fuck you on the first date. Kyle scoffs like he’s personally insulted that Soap thought he could be anything but a gentleman, but he agrees to the bullshit terms.
John is next. John grew up in a very traditional household and sometimes he’ll say or do something that is meant to be harmless but can come off as controlling. Johnny may not mind it all the time, and when he does he will make it known. But you are not Johnny nor are you John’s omega yet. So Soap is insistent that this is a neutral meeting. John does his best not to roll his eyes, but he finds it kind of charming how much Soap wants you to like them all. So he agrees to calm Soap’s frantic energy.
Simon is probably the worst. A big, fuck off alpha with no care for social conventions. And Johnny knows he’s going to have an issue when Simon tried to pocket the scented-scarf you gave them and stiff-armed Gaz to keep the beta from getting it. Johnny is so insistent that Simon cannot loom over you and scare you off. Simon cannot just randomly scent you, or ask any sort of questions about where you would preferred to be marked. Simon does not care, he has no plans to be deterred. He’s decided already that you’re pack. If you belong to Johnny then you belong to him, which means you belong to them all. He’ll go about how he needs to make it happen.
Johnny goes through all the trouble of preparing his pack. Gives them interesting tidbits about you; your job, your hobbies, any pets you have, fun trips you been on, what you may have went to school for. Things that they can bring up to get to know you better. And he prepared you similarly, safe topics to venture and things to avoid.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t really matter. Cause Simon breaks protocol immediately by standing directly over you and sniffing your hair through his mask, grumbles something halfway indecent about wanting to eat you. And that is a great Segway into the rest of the pack seeing what they can get away with.
Okay, so I’m imagining Omega!Soap in pack!141. He loves his pack, he trust them with his life. They treat him well and respect him. That, however, does not change the fact that being the only omega can be frustrating. Having two alphas, John and Simon, in a relatively small pack isn’t easy, especially considering the daily stress that is their jobs. And while Johnny appreciates Gaz for all he does as their pack beta, Kyle doesn’t always understand what Johnny feels. Soap often feels like the anchor, steadying their bonds when they grow thin.
So when you, another omega, become a recurring face around his pack, he’s quick to latch on. He doesn’t even necessarily think he’s trying to court you. It’s just nice to have someone else like him around, someone who gets it. He likes drawing out your instincts, asking you things that his pack simply doesn’t get, like nesting preferences and about that scent down the admin hallway that the others swear they don’t notice. So when you both inevitably have a growing bond, what else is Johnny supposed to do than bring you to his pack and show you off like a hunting prize?
This is an extension of Omega!Reader and Omega!Johnny going through their pre-heats. They live in a house, don’t ask why. Packs get housing or something, idk. ROLL THE CLIP.
John was an old war dog, he knew that. He’d given this much of his life to the fight, and he couldn’t imagine a future where that changed. All of that said, if he ever did leave the service, he hoped it looked something like this moment.
John sat in that plush armchair of his, a gift from his pack when they first moved in. He had an IPad on his lap, the text was bigger which meant he didn’t need to wear his glasses. And Gaz was in the kitchen, his chosen playlist for the evening diffusing through the air. His voice singing out lines between the sounds of scraping pots. Kyle was the best of them at actually having a diet that consisted of more than cigarettes, alcohol, and whatever version of caffeine they could get. And with two Omegas on the verge of their heats, it was needed. Kyle, ever the planner, had taken it upon himself to ensure that the omegas were getting their fill of healthy meals. Johnny would snap up just about anything. It was the other omega that caused issue.
Their newest packmate had become increasingly picky over the past few days, ignoring foods that didn’t pique their interest, often going without if what they wanted wasn’t available. It drove Kyle crazy, the beta unable to focus when he knew one of his own wasn’t being taken care of. So he had taken over ensuring there were always options. It was good for him, gave him something that wasn’t work to focus on, and Kyle always puffed himself up when his omega eagerly ate whatever he put in front of them.
The narration of the TV drew John’s attention away from the archway that led to the kitchen. Instead, landing on the form curled up on the couch. You had stumbled down here not too long ago, flicked the TV to some documentary before coiling up like a spoiled pet in the corner of the loveseat, cocooned in the thick blankets that had been left there. You had mumbled all of three words before allowing yourself to doze off, comfortable and drowsy in the early evening. He had only checked to make sure you didn’t need anything before going back to his own devices. The TV little more than background noise, similar to Kyle’s singing and your little snores.
Peace, if he was ever allowed to describe it, looked like this moment. Of course, it never lasted long.
John heard the familiar truck rumbling to a stop. The sound of laughter and baritone responses. Gravel kicking up and then the jingling of keys in the door. You hardly moved before the door cracked open and the two voices spilled in.
Despite the fact that John knew that both Soap and Ghost had showered before returning, their scents were still pungent and filled the air. Ghost was in his usual ensemble, black sweatpants and a black hoodie, his plain balaclava hiding his face. Johnny had opted for shorts and one of those torn up muscle-tees he preferred.
Johnny’s eyes practically lit up when he saw you laid out across the couch. His shoes were hardly off and his bag hadn’t even hit the entryway floor before he was zipping across the room. He dropped himself onto you, using the blanket as a net to trap your limbs. Your squawk of surprise was swallowed by Johnny’s laughter as he continued to be a nuisance.
“Fuckin- Johnny! Get off!” You shouted, having to fight against the blanket and the massive SAS operator above you. “You fucking stink!” You loudly complained, finally getting an arm free and planting your palm against his face to try and shove him off.
“I can’t greet my lovely omega-“ he chokes as your hand catches his throat, causing him to peel back just enough to get your other arm free, allowing you to properly try and wrestle him off.
“I thought you took him to the gym to handle this.” John calls after Simon who was walking past the fighting omegas. “Got excited in the car.” Simon replies dryly as he heads to the kitchen to refill his water bottle.
John turns his head just in time to watch the two omegas crash off the couch and into the floor, the TV trembling with the force.
“I’m gonna sell you to the fucking Russians, Mactavish!”
“They won’t take ‘im.” Simon chuckles to himself as he re-enters only to begin climbing up the stairs.
“Dinners in ten!” Kyle calls from the archway, and Johnny’s head lifts like a dog being called. It’s enough for you to kick and scramble free, launching yourself up to hide behind John’s armchair. Though when Johnny pursues, you screech and take off running once more. John almost wants to tell you that running will simply make it worst. Though instead he sighs and settles back into his chair.
He can’t help but rub his eyes as he hears Gaz’s annoyed shouts, Johnny’s victorious laughter, your hissing, no doubt because you have been caught. Though there’s no distressed scent in the air. He’d give it another few minutes before he broke it up.
While he was always glad for peace, he’d take his pack however they could get them. Even when they got on his nerves.
Omega!Soap Finally Introducing Omega!Reader to Pack!141
This directly follows this little blurb. Let's begin.
"Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, Si!" is the only thing Johnny can get out. He honestly should have expected this, he simply assumed he would get more than exactly two minutes into the evening before one of his mates tried something.
You're wide-eyed, looking up at Ghost with a mix of surprise and intrigue. And despite Soap's outburst, Ghost is still looming over you. You meet his eyes, dark and heavy, but there is nothing vulgar there, no leering or devious intent despite the words he had muttered. And you decide that you like him, as forward and unorthodox as he is. And when you breathe in his scent, something earthy, like petrichor and charcoal, it makes you smile. "You must be Simon, Johnny has told me a lot about you." You hum in response.
"'as he now?" Simon has already decided he likes you. You do not cower or lower your eyes when you look at him. And he can see the way your nostrils flare as you breathe him in, unapologetic and curious. Before you can hope to respond, Johnny is lifting a hand to knock against the giant's shoulder.
"You can't just walk up on someone, you big bastard!" Soap complains, and Ghost gives a small grunt, his eyes flicking to the other omega who is decidedly not pleased with the behemoth of an alpha.
"You said to be nice- this is me being nice." Simon answers blandly, getting a small giggle out of you, and his eyes snap back down to you. He doesn't even realize he's grumbling out a pleased sound. He likes how your scent flourishes with your laughter, how your eyes lighten. He won't say it aloud, but he decides that Johnny has made a good choice bringing you around.
While Simon and Johnny bicker, a new presence makes itself known at your side. "Ignore them, this is them flirting." A playful voice notes. And when you turn your head, you meet two more bodies. It's easy to distinguish them with the images you have made in your mind from Johnny's descriptions.
Gaz, Kyle, has an easy air about him. His eyes have a warmth to them, as if he has decided you are already a friend. He steps close and extends his arm to you, overturning his wrist so you could see the gland. When you lower your head to sniff at his inner wrist, it makes your chest warm. Cocoa butter and something citrusy, something fresh.
"I'm Kyle, and this is Cap', John." He corrects himself with ease, nodding his head over his shoulder to the bear of a man that stands at his side. And John certainly embodies the title of Captain, its easy to see why he is the head of their pack. He's not bigger than Simon, but his presence is felt just as deeply. Even without the alpha offering his wrist for scenting, you can detect it. Tobacco, campfire smoke, evergreen trees in the winter. It's warm and eases the anxiety.
"It's good to finally meet you, Johnny talks about you often." John's voice sounds like tumbling stones, low and steady. "Let's get you inside. Let the muppets figure themselves out." John decides and you find yourself agreeing with ease.
Kyle curls an arm around your shoulders, pulling you into his side as he brings you towards the doors of the pub. And John's hand hovers just over your lower back, guiding you both forward.
"Do they always do this?" You manage to ask as you finally enter the establishment. "On any day that ends with "Y", yeah." Kyle chuckles. John picks the table you all will occupy, you notice. Somewhere towards the back of the pub where he has eyes on every exit and entry, of every patron. Kyle pulls out your chair for you and John helps remove your coat, draping it over your chair.
Once you're seated, Kyle takes one of the seats beside you, his arm draped over your shoulders once more, but John chooses the seat opposite of you. It's nice, but you can already see where both have left holes that will be occupied by the other members.
By the time Johnny and Simon enter, Soap is flustered and his lips slightly more swollen then before, and Simon seems satisfied with himself. The table already has a round of drinks and greasy appetizers, and you are positively glowing, smiling and laughing at something that is said.
Johnny takes the free seat on your other side. And John shuffles to allow Simon in, the large Alpha taking the corner with his back to the wall.
"There you are!" You greet them, swirling your straw around your cup. "I was starting to wonder when you would get back." you chime and it makes a boyish grin appear on his lips. "Ach, you ken I can't leave my best girl here all on her own." Johnny says, leaning into your space.
"I wasn't alone. Kyle and John have been very good company. Told me this story about you and piercing gun." Johnny can see the impish amusement in your eyes and he nearly blanches.
This time, Simon grumbles a chuckle as he lifts the bottom of his mask to take a sip of his drink. "Soap nearly gave himself sepsis trying to pierce his own belly button." His tone is bland, but the amusement is there.
"You'd think he was dying with the way he was whining." Kyle adds with a snort.
Johnny has half a mind to throw a chip at the beta's head, but then you're giggling and leaning into his side, your scent enveloping him. Your eyes flicker up to meet his, and any hope of a rebuttal is lost as he looks down at you.
You turn your head, bunting your forehead against his shoulder. Johnny decides that he'll put up with this, maybe just for a bit longer. What can he say? He's a sucker for a pretty girl laughing.
So, everyone knows about heats. I think the pre-heat is just as entertaining. Your body is about to go through this hormone driven, intense metabolic change for multiple days. So clearly, the body has to prepare to ensure it’s not gonna keel over. Soap and Reader have vastly different needs during their pre-heats, and it drives everyone crazy. Especially when your heats start to align.
I imagine Johnny is needier than usual. He wants to be around his mates, wants them in his nest, wants to steal the clothes off their back, wants to spend his time with them. He’s also constantly hungry. He’s a big guy, and he needs the energy. He’s constantly moving, wants to wrestle and play fight. Needs an excuse to be moving. The others can handle this fairly well. You can throw Johnny on a fighting mat and then feed him anything as long as it’s protein heavy, and he’s perfectly content. He’s verbal and often simply goes after what he wants.
Reader’s pre-heat needs are a little more subtle. Lots of rest and naps. Has specific preferences about what they will and won’t eat. Needs more space from the pack and any interaction needs to be on their terms. And your nesting behaviors look different. Less collecting and more organizing. Ensuring everything is where it needs to be. And you make your displeasure known, snipping and baring teeth if the others push too hard. It takes the pack a lot longer to adjust to this Omega’s needs, after having Johnny as their only responsibility.
John can be a bit heavy-handed at first. His brain keeps telling him to keep his omega comfy, so it feels like he’s hovering. But he prides himself on how well he keeps his pack, and he wants to take care of you just as well. And Gaz is similar where he’s trying to figure out what you need, but it leads to him overthinking. Johnny has a habit of bulldozing them, so there isn’t as much guessing involved. Hilariously, Ghost is probably the best at handling you. He’a simply accepted that if you need something, you’ll come around, and he understands needing boundaries on touch. So if you only came over for a brief hug or only want to sit beside him for a few minutes, that’s more than fine with him. He’s not one for midday naps, but he does like that when you want to take one you’ll curl up near him.
The biggest problem is truly between Reader and Johnny. Their opposing wants create a funny situation where Johnny is fucking annoying and Reader is doing their best to kill him. Nests are off limits but everything else is fair game. Soap’s favorite are surprise attacks where he’ll lay his full weight in them or haul Reader off their feet and refuse to let go. It’s a lot of goading on Johnny’s part and hissing and cursing from Reader. Soap likes being an asshole about it sometimes, likes it even more when he gets to pin Reader down.
Gaz is the most frequent one to break up these little fights. Ghost tends to watch and simply finds it amusing, might drag Johnny off if he notices him getting too excited. John has a habit of reteaching Johnny how to be nice to his fellow omegas.
In the pack!141 au I have going with omega!Johnny. Reader and her first heat with her new pack!
Heats can be emotional and vulnerable times, especially when doing them with a new pack. So Johnny takes it on as his responsibility to ensure your first time with his pack goes well. He’s not worried that John or Simon would ever harm you, if that was a concern he would have killed them ages ago. But he wants to be there to help soothe any nerves. To help stretch you so you can take your alphas’ and their knots, to smooth away the pinch in your brows when you’re being stuffed, to hold your hand and hold you still. Show you how to present and the tricks that your alphas like best. Show you how to be a good omega for your alphas. Show you how good it feels when your alphas take care of you the way you need.
