I think the way Wolf Hybrid!Price knows that you are part of his pack is when shit goes sideways in the middle of the night.
You had only touched back down on base for a max of 72 hours before John is given orders for them to move out. It’s four in the morning and the kettle hasn’t even heated up yet.
But here you are, in his office with the rest of his pack. Ghost leaned against John’s desk, arms crossed over his chest and staring at the papers like they personally wronged him. And you are sandwiched on the couch between Johnny and Kyle. Soap has been taking notes aggressively in his notebook, his hands needing motion. Kyle is already fidgeting with his second watch, adjusting it to the location you all will be dropping to in a short few hours.
But you stared straight at John, face all puffy from sleep and scrunched up because of how hard you are trying to focus. You look to him because you trust him to guide you, to point you in the right direction. And even if you’re exhausted you focus because he’s deemed it important.
It’s a very specific rush of feeling. He knows that you’re his. His responsibility, his to care for, his to keep. It’s a feeling he doesn’t have time to answer at the moment.
But when he dismisses you all to finish getting ready, he makes sure to squeeze the back of your neck first a moment too long, just so you’ll up to him with curiosity.
