I’ve been having Mimi speak using binary code, which I’ve been coding through This Site. Tak’s latest post was encrypted using This Site which flips the alphabet around. There’s also ROT13 that many of the other Invader Arcs crew uses in tandem with the previous too, which I decode using This Site. And you can always plug in whatever codes we use into Google, which should bring up some kind of decoder on its own.

Spent the evening putting together a faux z-axis system and tiles for testing!

By faux z-axis I mean that your z-axis is only selectively measured based on the area you’re in. The number over the rabbit’s head is their z-axis, which is 0 both at the top of the hill and at the bottom. Invisible triggers at the top of the hill scoot you down 16 pixels while simultaneously giving you a z-axis of 16, seemingly leaving you in the same spot. The slope adjusts your z-axis when you come into contact with it, setting it to the difference between it’s x axis and the player’s. Invisible triggers that surround the whole system reset you to a z-axis of 0 after subtracting your z-axis from your y-axis, essentially making sure that you visually stay in the same location despite losing your z-axis.

It’s complicated but its a lot less complicated than building a maintained z-axis playground over the whole level, especially when I only intend to mess with it in this one specific scenario; horizontal slopes.
